Summary: Showmanship is lacking
Review: Is it me or do the chicks look like they are having a root canal during this video. The chops are solid. However, they all look so tense that the disk is a downer. I guess this was a tense time for them.

Summary: Keepin' it real....
Review: Being a musician and having seen Dixie Chicks live on this tour, I can tell you that both live and on the DVD the singing and playing from all three is live.

For people who feel the singing is not live, perhaps they are struggling with the fact that, yes, there are attractive women who are this good in terms of musicianship and can think for themselves. While I can see why some would find the video editing distracting, it has grown on me after a couple of viewings.

My only complaints are that Truth No. 2 should have been included since it is a galvanizing moment in the concert, and that the labeling of the DVD could be a bit more up front so that people expecting a single live performance would not be disappointed.

Summary: Another View
Review: First, I want to keep politics out. This is about the music and the video. Natalie can say what she wants, as guaranteed in the constitution, and her opinion is worth no more (nor less) than yours or mine, so to the music and the video. First of all, I think that folks who have listened to the Chicks' studio CDs and who have seen An Evening With... DVD have found a group of very talented, consistent, and high level performers who take a lot of pride and focus in their performances. I think they are so consistently talented that their everyday performances are top notch. They are like any highly talented team: they win every night. I differ from some of the critics really liked the rapid change from venue to venue within each song. That the editors were able to splice different concerts using probably the best recording of a particular song really works. I do not doubt the quality of the performance and have a hard time criticizing the Chicks for being too consistently good to be credible. Just maybe they are that good. I would like to have seen one or more of the concerts but was unable. This is an exciting and satisfying substitute. It gives me a flavor very different from An Evening With ... and from the studio CDs. If you enjoy the Dixie Chicks' music and An Evening With ..., you will enjoy this slightly different look. I think the DVD captures the excitement of the live concerts and presents a great cross-section of their performances. Problem is that they have done so many excellent songs that it is nearly impossible to include everyone's favorites. I do wish Truth #2 and Top of the World had been included, but otherwise I found it a terrific concert DVD. I especially like the counterpoint to An Evening With..., which was a straight-on concert DVD. I like having both DVDs in my collection: different slants on great music by true professionals.

Summary: a DVD for folks with ADD!
Review: I can't believe anyone thought this edit for every shot idea was good, ESPECIALLY not a fan,

I love the Chicks, the concert sounded as good as the DVD does, but damn.. the rapid fire cuts so that every camera change is from a different show, it drove me nuts, not ONCE do we see them perform a whole song, it's all hundreds of clips from every city.

I gave it away and bought the CD version, and I'm glad I did.

it may be 'live' but barely, this kind of editing style may have a home somewhere, but I'm stymied as to where.

Summary: Marvelous Musicianship, Excellently Edited and Presented
Review: It's clear that a number of the previous reviews of this fine concert DVD were written by people with an agenda that did not include actually viewing "Top of the World Live." I admit that the bonus music video included at the end of the disc is somewhat cryptic and probably a challenge for people whose idea of an intellectual discussion is determined by the topics jumping off the tabloids as they buy their Winstons and Bud down at Food Lion. After Natalie Maines was virtually tarred and feathered for some mild remarks disparaging the first convicted drunk driver Commander-in-Chief of the United States, it is amazing this tour happened at all. This DVD is a valuable document of the professionalism and integrity of Natalie and her bandmates.

Summary: Very Sad and I love The Dixie Chicks
Review: Where is the fantastic video montage that went with Truth No. 2? For that matter where is the song? It is terribly sad that this great band felt so overwhelmed by the pressure of ignorant people that the highlights of the concert do not appear in the DVD. I loved the concert I saw in Philadelphia though I admit it was disappointing since Natalie looked so sad and uninspired. That annoying splicing in the DVD at least proved it wasn't only at my concert that she didn't smile. And the "Top of the Word" tour concert without showing them play the song only so that there would be no mention of "the controversy" on the DVD? Frankly, this is just not worth buying.

Summary: Worst Concert DVD Ever!
Review: I should have known better, I saw the video they released on CMT and I thought boy everyone sure is changing outfits and hairstyles every other second, this must just be for this one video. Then I got the DVD sad to say. I watched the first song and saw that they also did it again. Quickly I jumped to the next song, and then the next..I turned it off by the fourth song searched.

This can't be described as a concert video because you never actually see them play a song. Their reactions, movements, twirlings that were all spliced together could have come at any time and not during the song they were actually playing. Also to me when someone uses a headset microphone that has a fixed distance from their lips the sound always sounds much less dynamic. Too bad, not good sounding and not good to look at.

I have no idea what got into their heads being that they helped produce this. My only guess is that they figured they have done live shows on video and they wanted to do something different, well they sure did..they made a terrible DVD.

Dixie Chicks fans skip this one, it might put you into fits with all the jump cuts, clothing changes and as stated you never really see them play one song that you are hearing.

Summary: Misguided Concept for a Concert Video
Review: It's different...you have to give it that. Unfortunately different doesn't always mean better.

On the plus side, the audio and video quality are quite good. That along with the Chicks' obvious talent almost salvage a 2-star rating, but not quite.

The incredibly annoying non-stop splicing totally ruined this video for me. It's quite distracting when the outfits and hair styles change every few seconds during a given song. Your mind starts wandering and thinking thoughts like...

"I wonder which of these random video snippets from the various concerts actually goes with the audio for this song? 5 seconds here? Ten seconds there? Most of it? Some? None?"

To me, a concert video should feature an actual performance. The fragmented nature of this collection makes it somewhat pointless to even call it a "Live" production.

Overall, very disappointing and definitely not recommended.

Summary: I need a wide screen TV
Review: The Dixie Chicks should give away a free wide screen TV with every purchase. That is the only way to fit the Fat Little retarded one on my TV screen. Complete waste of time DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Summary: What a disappointment!!
Review: I loooooooove the Chicks. They sound perfect in concert, but this DVD was horrible! I was eager to watch it, hoping to see them sing a song entirely in one city, and then the next song in a different city, etc., but NOOOO!! It's a bunch of video clips from many different concerts that is distracting and gets annoying. Every song is dubbed in. You might as well just play the live CD and forget the DVD.... This is not what I was hoping for. Anyone want a free DVD???
