Summary: Trent raises DVD bar.
Review: Never would I have doubted that the time spent waiting for this DVD would be justified, but Trent has again placed himself at the front of the pack. Technically, the quality is amazing. Musically, it's even better.

Having seen NIN live, I can honestly say that other than smells, crowds, and parking problems, nothing is lost. The vocals are as clear as the video, and the camera angles never get boring.

A song index would have been nice, but watching the show from start to finish may be what was wanted anyway.

If you need any reason to buy a 36" 5.1 dolby television, this is it.

Summary: The Ultimate in Concert Viewing
Review: It's obvious how much care went into the making of these DVD's. The sound quality is excellent and the picture is so clear it's practically three-dimensional. I wonder how Reznor & Co. could possibly have done so many concerts on that tour while maintaining such a furious energy level - an incredible performance by all. There is also a feature that lets you listen to the filmmaker talk about how he came up with the beautiful imagery used as a backdrop to some of the songs. This is truly an electrifying and exhilirating experience!

Summary: Expect nothing more then live footage.
Review: The live footage on this DVD? Awesome. It felt like being at one of thier concerts. The picture, sound, and overall quality of the footage is superb.

That said, I was somewhat disappointed that there wasn't much else. You'd think a 2 DVD collection would maybe have at the very least some commentary by Trent, or perhaps some info about the band or something else of interest. Nope. All you get is the concert's director's commentary, secondary angles (excess footage) and some stills (more excess footage). After recently buying the Smashing Pumpkin's DVD, which was only 1 DVD and had about 10 times the content, I must say I felt as if this DVD was lacking. Unless you like lots and lots of footage and nothing else.

Summary: There is more than meets the eye!!!!!!
Review: I was very excited for this DVD and it has not let me down. The video quality is superb and the sound is incredible. The way the video is shot you do feel like you are there and it is full of energy.
Now, on to the extras. At first I was dissapointed for the lack of extras considering it is on two disks. Well, knowing Trent Reznor, I was expecting more, and I was right. There is a hidden menu on disk two that contains lots of extras. How do you get there, it's pretty simple. During "Head Like A Hole," around the 11:20 mark hit "07" and "enter" (if it does not work try just "7" and enter, but play around with it because it really works). This will bring you to the extra menu. It includes:

"Reptile" live performance
Video for "The Day The World Went Away"
ninetynine commercial
"The Fragile" commercial
"Things Falling Apart" commercial
NIN and Marilyn Manson doing part of "Star***kers" and "Beautiful People".

On Disc One, while "Gave Up" is playing near the 26:58 mark, press enter on your remote. You then get a wide shot of the stage for the song.

Because of this there is no reason as to why you should not buy this. It is worth every cent you pay for it.

Summary: NIN LIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I saw nin on their 2000 fragility v2.0 tour in philadelphia and it was amazing. This dvd captures the energy that is nin live, from trent smashing keybords, guitars even his band members during march of the pigs, head like a hole and closer to the quiet moments of the frail, the great below and hurt. This dvd is ALMOST as good as being there.

The set: pinion, terrible lie, march of the pigs, piggy, the frail, the wretched, gave up, la mer, the great below, the mark has been made, wish, complication, suck, closer, head like a hole
just like you imagined, star****ers, inc. and hurt

The features: 5.1 surround sound, audio commentary, multi camera angle

The hidden features: Marilyn Manson and NIN doing star****ers and the beautiful people together, reptile live, the day the world went away video, alternate preformence of gave up, the fragile tv spot, things falling apart tv spot and nintynine tv spot

Audio: 5 out of 5
Video: 4 out of 5
features: 4 out of 5

Summary: NIN have done it again - forgot about european fans
Review: Excellent live DVD... As expected by almost everyone familiar with the perfectionism of Trent Reznor.

Only complaint is that the DVD is not released in Europe - the same problem as Closure when that came out.

You would believe that a band of this magnitude would be able to make a european version as well.

Summary: Great DVD, Shocking Price!!! Stop the rot!!!
Review: 5 stars for the concert content, 1 star for extras, 0 for the price. Other reviews listed here (mostly) are accurate about how good this concert is, so read it there. I just want to say that we have to let the companies (not Amazon, it's nothing to do with them) that are getting very greedy about DVD prices know that it is UNACCEPTABLE. The ONLY reason this is on two discs is so that they can try to justify ripping us off!! This disc is actually WORSE OFF by being on two discs. The recent U2 offering (also a great concert) was also an example of a radically overblown initial price. Vote with your dollars, people, do anything you can to avoid paying top price for these DVD's to send a message that really needs to be sent.

Summary: The extras ARE there.
Review: I miss the curtained performance of "Somewhat Damaged" I saw at the Minneapolis show, but this DVD is the closest a concert show has ever come to duplicating what it feels like to be in the audience.

I saw a few people complaining about the lack of extras, so I'll let you all know what they are and how to find them:

Insert Disc 2
Go to Supplemental Information
Move down to Main Menu
Press LEFT then UP then ENTER
Now, immediately move up or down chapters to access the following (you have
to do this quickly, i start mashing on the track down button immediately
after hitting enter)
title 5 chapter 3 reptile
title 5 chapter 4 the fragile trailer
title 5 chapter 5 things falling apart trailer
title 5 chapter 7 manson footage (starf*ckers/beautiful people)
title 5 chapter 9 ninetynine trailer
title 5 chapter 10 the day the world went away video (live performance mixed in with the unreleased music video that Trent scrapped, very cool)

Admittedly, there are no interviews with bandmembers or backstage scenes, but that certainly is a decent ammount of extra stuff in there.

I enjoyed this DVD very much, and the DTS version has absolutely great sound. If you have a capable reciever and the proper set-up, I recommend it over the DD version.

Summary: This is as close as it gets too actually being there
Review: I attended the NIN show at The Gorge in Washington state in the summer of 2000 and this dvd set brings back a lot of great memories. Everything from the energy Trent and his live band brings forth on stage to the incredible light/video show is here. Trent's voice has never sounded better. Anyone who is a huge NIN fan like me will absolutely love this and even the occasional NIN fan or newbie will enjoy this as well. This dvd truly shows why Trent Reznor is one of the best musicians on the planet and why NIN is one of the best live bands out there. My only complaints about this dvd set is the lack of extras and I would of rather of had the whole concert on 1 instead of 2 dvds. Other than those minor complaints, this an excellent dvd set. Buy it now.

Summary: ....could have been better
Review: In no way was I fan of the Fragile album. And the whole point of this DVD seems to be geared towards the new material. Some old songs are thrown in, but they are far and few between. Some of their best songs like "Reptile", "Something I Can Never Have", "Happiness In Slavery", "Heresy", and "Ruiner" are all absent and nowhere to be found. Also I feel as if the whole thing could be on 1 DVD instead of 2. I had to shell out more money for probably another DVD that wasn't necessary. Overall only get it if you collect NIN material, or if you have money.
