Summary: If only everyone knew about the power of X JAPAN
Review: X Japan was to Japan what Elvis, Michael Jackson, the Beatles and Madonna all rolled into one are to the United States. They were simply the most influential sound in Japan since the invention of the Taiko drum.

The person who died was hide (pronounced HEE-DAY), the lead guitarist (think Eric Clapton meets Slash). He was found hanging from a towel on a doorknob, but he certainly wasn't doing anything sick at the time. He was drunk (a problem with hide) at the time.

It's strange that a group that took power ballads to a place so far above anything you could imagine in America is represented here by almost all metal songs, but they could easily play hard and soft.
There are places to find their 5 studio CDs (including the one-song album, 29-minute epic: Art of Life) which are a must if you want to know the full range of their music. But this is a good buy because they put on one crazy show!

Summary: a ranty review
Review: X-Japan is officially one of the best bands in the history of bands!!!!!!! I don't speak Japanese (yet) but their music is better then any English speaking bands I've heard (except Freezepop they rule!). The song "Say Anything" is so beautifully written that I almost cried the first time I heard it and I cannot get "Celebration" out of my head, which kinda sucks because I've got midterms right now. how am I supposed to focus on math when all I want to do is break out my cd player and play the cd on repeat? that's besides the point, my point is BUY THIS!!! and anything else you can afford. (I can't afford any of it unfortunately so I put everything on my wishlist) with the sweetness of their ballads and the energy of the rest of their music, X-Japan's best is a must have for anyone who loves music of this type.
