Summary: Another great Britney video, but with a misleading title!
Review: Notice how I just said "another great Britney video"? That's my way of saying that Britney Spears puts out superb home music videos everytime without fail. This third offering from the Princess of Pop may only be 30 minutes long, yet is packed with amazing, must-see stuff for Britney fans everywhere. It is called Britney: The Videos, yet contains only two actual music videos - three if you count Overprotected which is just a performance with out-takes from Crossroads. In November 2001, Britney released her third album, Britney. It went to No.1 all over the world, sold 17 million copies...blah, blah, blah - see my review of the album for more. Later in the month, Britney: The Videos was released as a sort of essential item of merchandise to accompany the album. Everytime Britney releases a video, sales go through the roof - especially in America. At its short time-length, this video surpassed everyone's expectations as it topped the VHS chart for ages in the US and has only just left the Top 20 - almost a year after it was released!

The video begins with the music video to Britney's April 2001 hit, Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know which was taken from her second album Oops!...I Did It Again. The video is set on a deserted beach as Britney runs around, scantily-clad with the love of her life. The video is beautiful - and not just because of Britney! The sky is a deep blue/purple and the sea is so calm. Despite this, the video caused a lot of controversy, but not enough for the single to go Top 10 in the UK - her only single not to chart in the UK Top 10 to date. The video also apparently caused outrage with Britney's mum who condemned her daughter for producing such a raunchy video - she had no bad comments to say about the I'm A Slave 4 U (which I regard to be even more steamy than the video in question), which makes you think that this whole affair with Britney's mum being shocked was another false accusation by the world's press from the Britney Rumour-Mill. Speaking of I'm A Slave 4 U, the next feature is probably the best on the whole video. In September 2001, at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, the whole world got a sneek-peak of Britney's new single I'm A Slave 4 U. Britney wasn't nominated for any awards, but stole the entire show with her controversial and highly-publicised performance. She went on-stage with real live tigers and lions and even belly-danced with a poisonous snake. As it wrapped itself around her neck and arms, it became the most envied creature on Earth amongst millions of red-blooded the world over! The third featurette on Britney: The Videos is Joy Of Pepsi. In March 2001, Britney signed a (estimated) $90 million deal to be the face of Pepsi. The first advert she made was called Joy Of Pepsi - and is on this video. This 90-second advert features Britney dressed in an amazing outfit as she struts her stuff in a Pepsi factory. In the advert, Britney is like the boss of Pepsi in more ways than one; through 2001, Pepsi reported a worldwide increase in their sales. Many popular singers such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Spice Girls, Robbie Williams and Gareth Gates have sponsored Pepsi - but Britney has proved to be the biggest hit with the mega soft-drink firm. The fourth feature in this video is the video to I'm A Slave 4 U. Released in October 2001, the song was a huge hit worldwide peaking at No.4 in the UK. The video was equally, if not more, successful than the song - especially where male fans are concerned! A lot of people say Britney looks awful in this video, but how does she?! She is the ultimate definition of a female sex-symbol of the 21st Century - this video supports this theory even more. The fifth and sixth features are Britney Strikes A Pose and I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman (Sydney Performance) respectively. The former is an average feature where Britney plays around on a photoshoot for Vogue magazine while the superb song Anticipating (from her third album Britney) plays in the background. The latter is just another average performance of Britney singing the otherwise brilliant ballad I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman in Sydney, Australia in September 2001 - before the September 11th terrorist attacks...

The video continues with Overprotected (featuring out-takes from Crossroads) and HBO Presents Britney Spears Live From Las Vegas. Again, the former is a great feature as Britney performs her huge hit Overprotected (UK No.4, January 2002) while funny out-takes from Crossroads are added in. The latter is the worst feature on the video. This is only the advertisement for Britney Spears Live From Las Vegas, not the actual concert which was released earlier this year. The advert is a bare 45 seconds long - not worthy of reviewing! The final featurette on Britney: The Videos is The Making Of Crossroads. This is one of the video's highlights as we go behind-the-scenes and witness Britney filming her debut film Crossroads. It has interviews with Britney (Lucy) herself, along with co-stars Taryn Manning (Mimi), Zoe Saldana (Kit) and Anson Mount (Ben) and director Tamra Davis. The video ends as the credits roll with several pictures of Britney as the song Let Me Be (from her third album, Britney) plays.

OVERALL GRADE: 9/10

All in all, Britney: The Videos is another must-have, essential Britney Spears home music video for every Britney fan. I so feel, however, that the video was a little rushed. There's so much more that they could've included such as Britney's other two amazing MTV Video Music Awards performances from 199 and 2000, along with the music videos to Born To Make You Happy and From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart from her debut album Baby One More Time which don't feature on Britney two previous home videos - Time Out With Britney and Britney - Live And More. They could also have included a special Britney Awards where all the awards that Britney has won over the past 4 years were featured. Oh well, no point in moaning! Buy this anyway - from Amazon of course!

Summary: 4 A Collector
Review: I am a huge Britney fan and of course i buy everything that comes out from her but this DVD is mainly for a Britney Collector. I mean people who only like her a little bit wouldnt really want the HBO Commercial (or pepsi one) but a true Britney collector would so it all depends on how much you like Britney. Heres my adviceBRITNEY HUGE FAN: Up to you weather you buy it or not BRITNEY COLLECTOR: A Must Buy.

This DVD may be a let down but BRITNEY I LOVE YA!

Summary: Please.
Review: You'd think that by this VHS/DVD being titled "Britney: The Videos", you'd find nothing more, nothing less than a good set of 10 videos (at the time) done by Britney Spears. That is the reason I added it to my wishlist to begin with, but I was completely disappointed when it arrived. Sure, it has "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" and "I'm A Slave 4 U", but that's not enough.

Besides the three videos, you will see Britney pose infront of a camera for a photoshoot for about 5 minutes. You will also see a live performance of "Overprotected" from the movie "Crossroads", and behind the scenes footage of the same. Personally, I was not interested in any of these things.

The only two things I enjoyed from this VHS were the IAS4U video and the full length version of her first Pepsi commercial and the performance of IAS4U at the 2001 Video Music Awards (somewhat). Although all of these parts of the VHS are great, they are not enough for me to give this tape more than the rating I selected.

Not to mention this VHS is incredibly short... merely over 30 minutes. When I buy a VHS, I expect it to be atleast an hour, and in this case, being that the artist was Britney Spears, full of entertainment. But, it wasn't the case.

Summary: kind of a waste of money
Review: I WAS DISAPOINTED IN THIS DVD. THERE'S NOT A LOT ON IT. THERE'S NOT REALLY ANYTHING YOU COULDN'T JUST TAPE OFF OF MTV.
1. DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW-- MIGHT AS WELL TAPE IT OFF MTV
2. I'M A SLAVE 4 U(VMA 2001 PERFORMANCE)-- AGAIN, YOU COULD TAPE THIS OFF MTV
3. BRITNEY'S FIRST PEPSI COMMERCIAL-- WELL, IT'S THE WHOLE COMMERCIAL, SO THAT'S ONE OF THE FEW THINGS YOU COULDN'T TAPE OFF TV
4. I'M A SLAVE 4 U(VIDEO)-- SURPRISE, SURPRISE, YOU COULD TAPE THIS OFF MTV
5. BEHIND THE SCENES OF VOUGE PHOTO SHOOT-- CAN'T GET THIS OFF TV
6. I'M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN MUSIC VIDEO-- I GUESS THIS IS A DIFFERENT VERSION, BUT I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY HUGE DIFFERENCES. TAPE IT OFF MTV!!
7. OVERPROTECTED WITH OUTAKES FROM CROSSROADS-- YOU CAN SEE THIS ON THE ENHANCED PORTION OF THE CD
8. LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS COMMERCIAL-- TAPE IT OFF TV
9. MAKING OF CROSSROADS-- SOME COOL BEHIND THE SCENES OF CROSSROADS STUFF

Summary: Not the Best of the 3
Review: I liked this...but it could have had more.It has the videos for "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know"(which I was wondering if it was going to get on a DVD.Much like"From the Bottom of My Broken Heart".)And the unoffical videos for "Not A Girl"and"Overprotcted".If you're wanting to get all the Britney DVDs but only one at a time I would wait and get this one last.It was good but not as good as the others(Time Out with Britney and Britney Live and More)

Summary: A little bit dissapoiting
Review: Although this Dvd isn"t bas it"s not god either. It"s just too short. There are three good performances of I"m Slave For You, I"m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and Overprotected, 2 great videos and commercials and behind the scens and that"s it! Buy it only if you"re a real fan.

Summary: Spears' Self Titled DVD Pretty Good
Review: "Britney:The Videos" was Miss. Spears' third official DVD/video. Unlike her previous releases, this one is named after her third disc "Britney". While it follows her songs and commercial from the album, it also comtains the music video "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know", from her sophomore release. It also includes a behind-the-scenes from her movie "Crossroads". The only bad thing about this DVD is that it is only like 30 minutes, whereas her previous ones were more close to a full hour at least. And also, there is nothing in here that you can't see on TV. However, that doesn't matter if you are a Brit fan, and if you are, this is for you.

Summary: Surprisingly Disappointing
Review: I expected this video to have her hit videos. But when I sat down to watch it, it began with "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" which is a great video so I was like 'hey this is cool'. Then it went into her "I'm A Slave 4 U" VMA performance and then the video. And then it's just her dancing at photoshoots to her song "Anticipating". What's with that? And then there's "Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman"...no argument there. Then Behind Crossroads. Which is interesting...but not. And then her "Overprotected" performance. And that's it. Then it ends with some pictures with the credits. I guess I expected way too much from a Britney Spears video but I thought there'd be a LITTLE more to it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Nice DVD, but could've added way more to it.
Review: BRITNEY - THE VIDEOS, is not what you'd think it was. I recently purchased this DVD because I'm a big fan of Britney Spears but I have to say that even I was slightly disappointed. There wasn't too much added to it and it was really short...about 90 minutes or so. The DVD only featured three of her music videos--"Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" (from her OOPS!...I DID IT AGAIN album), "I'm A Slave 4 U", and "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" (both from her new BRITNEY album). This DVD also includes an exclusive performance of her new song, "Overprotected", with scenes from her new full-length feature movie, CROSSROADS. The performance of "Overprotected" is great. And the three music videos are pretty good, too (though the "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" music video isn't the same one you see on MTV). Then, as little bonus extras, there are the TV commcercials she did with Pepsi and the TV commercial advertising her HBO concert show in Las Vegas. Not a spectacular DVD or one of her better DVDs, but this would make a nice, cheap little gift for any fan of Britney. If you're not a crazed Britney fan, then don't bother with this one. Instead, buy her HBO concert special in Las Vegas DVD.

Summary: Britney Spears- Britney:The Videos
Review: This DVD only ranks in at 30 minutes in length, but there is a lot to be found! 3 Videos, "I'm A Slave 4 U", "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" and the Oops!...I did It Again track "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know". Along with that, are two performances. "Slave" from the MTV Video Music Awards of 2001, and a video of her "Overprotected" song, but it's not really a video. It features outtakes of her movie "Crossroads", which I admit, was quite good! Although, there is an official video for it out in Europe, which is a lot better than this edit! They should've put that one on instead, definitely! With that, her 2001 SuperBowl Pepsi 90-second spot is also available. "Britney's Joy of Pepsi".
Wiht that, there are two special Chapters on this DVD! An exclusive look at the "Vogue" fashion shoot and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at her 2002 movie debut, "Crossroads". Alogn with that, her HBO Concert Special Commercial is featured with the Pepsi commericial as well. This DVD Is lacking, MUCH! I love Britney, but this could've been much better! I love this DVD, but I don't think its that great... . It's worth buying, but it still lacks some. The "Overprotected" so-called "video", I really don't like. It's a waste of space, I would've prefered the official video, then some...edit. This DVD is worth your [money], but it is lacking somewhat. But, overall, it's an ok DVD for your $$MoNeY$$$.

Britney Spears:Britney- The Videos:Bottom Line: Good, not great. Lacking, somewhat. But, overall, good DVD.
