Summary: Excellent!
Review: I will not argue the merits of whether one cares for the music of the Bee Gees or not. You either like them or you don't. I would have to take great exception to other posts stating that the "sound" of this recording is poor? I have the DTS version. For reference I also have James Taylor Live at the Beacon Theater, Fleetwood Mac's The Dance as well as The Eagles Hell Freezes Over. Anyone that has heard any of these titles is aware of the quality of each of those recordings. The Bee Gees One Night Only is every bit as good as any of the above listed titles. The mix between all 5 speakers is well balanced with a very light and open sound. The mix between the front 3 speakers is very even and natural. The rear speakers are primarily for the ambient concert sounds, as they should be. If you have this DVD and it does not "sound right", I would suggest examining your 5 channel set up.

Summary: Better listen to the Two Channel Version forget DTS
Review: I purchased my DVD player the sole purpose of enjoying high quality pop and other concerts. I bought the Bee Gees "One Night Only" after listening to one or two tracks played on radio here in G.B. I was delighted with the whole production whilst listening on my high quality two channel stereo amplifier. I recently invested in Pioneer's best DTS and, having heard the concerts in digital 5.1, I must say it's not as enjoyable to listen to. The sound seems rather confused and lacks the warmth the stereo version has. Still, a great DVD by a great group. But just the two ears are enough.

Summary: poor recording
Review: I have both DD and DTS. I found both are poor recorded. Very disappointed. I have CD of Bee Gees from 60 up. The Polydor give very good recording even on the old days. The 1997 concert has very good song and perfomance except recording. This recording is NOT acceptable for a good Hi-Fi equipment.

Summary: Below avarage sound quality and cinematography
Review: I am a fan of The Beegees so I bought this dvd despite some of the bad critics. Well, unfortunately the critics are true, at least to the Dolby Digital only version I've got. Vocals are weak and instrumental sounds are neither sharp nor clear, with too much noise from the crowd.Video quality is as expected from dvd's but there are just too much zooming and panning from the back of the audience towards the stage that you think you are looking at a home-made video.

Also, most of the songs are not full-length, therefore it can be dishearting if you expected otherwise.

Summary: The Best
Review: The BeeGees are the best and this is another example of how great they are! If you are big fan like me, this is a must have!

Summary: There'll be no other group like the Bee Gees...
Review: Born in 1963, I simply cannot remember when the Bee Gees did not give me at least a song to remember my growing years by. Indeed, this is one DVD that I will cherish and when my kids are old enough and want to know what was hip for daddy, my answer will be "Look no further, spin the disc and ENJOY!"

Summary: good songs bad production
Review: I love bee gee's songs and I own this DVD(DTS version). I am not sure whether it is just my copy. The audio is not up to any dolby digital standard not to mention DTS. Most of the time, the center and the sourround channels do not have much music effect/instrument or vocal, except occasional background noise and audience's applause.

I am not sure whether this is malfunctioning that happened to a certain number of DVD produced at a certain time. If it is, then i would ask for a return/refund.

If all DVDs produced are like this. Then this is really bad production. A bad DVD at the expense of very good, memorable songs by BEE GEEs. (e-mail:dlee_at@yahoo.com)

Summary: A must own for DTS fans
Review: The encoding of the 5.1 DTS track was amazing, this disc retains the much love stereo sound with the right amount of centre & surround mixing to create the ambience of 'live in concert' effect. It brings you right 'in the front row'. Fans of Bees Gees who has a DTS surround decoder got to own this.

Summary: The Beegees get better and better
Review: This is an excellent video. If anything their voices are better. It is nice to see them live and see how they blend their voices. You feel like you get to know them a little. Just listening to the music you can then pick out each voice and know who is singing which part.
