Summary: It's Sade
Review: Look, maybe the other reviewer is technically correct, but disappointed? With Sade? I can't be. I sit in awe. Maybe it is a bad technical representation, I can't tell. To me she is on a different planet and I want to go there. This DVD takes me there, period.

Summary: MESMERIZING
Review: What can I say about Sade that you haven't already heard? Nothing. You know her band is as tight as they come; you know her lyrics are thought provoking and insightful; you know her beauty is etheral and angelic; you know her concerts are treasures to be savored over and over.What you may not know is that "Lovers Live" is a must-buy DVD. Don't feel that because you own the DVD of her earlier tour that this DVD is superflous. It's not. There are many songs on this collection that were not included in the first. Also, of the songs that are repeated on "Lovers Live", the arrangements are changed enough to make this listen a new experience. Even "Red Eye" received a significant updating. The best thing about watching a Sade concert is her command of the audience. Sade is a true beauty, but she doesn't flaunt her assets like so many other female singers. There are no bootylicious aspirations, thong-exposing outfits, acrobatic dance moves, or salacious lyrics. Simply a beautiful, talented woman doing what she does best: mesmerizing an audience for two hours!

Summary: Excellent DVD! Must get .. for all Sade fans
Review: This is a superb DVD and sound is crisp and clean. The new remix of "Paradise" with the edgy new guitar riffs alone is worth getting the DVD for - it's the best Paradise mix I've heard, I keep playing that track over and over again. Sade continues to rock with a sweet, soulful hip sound that captivates. New energy in her songs, breaths life into the classics, with remixes and new songs. Also includes backstage footage and extras. Gotta get this one, Sade fans. Makes me a fan all over again. Way to go, Sade! (^_^)

Summary: Why the dts symbol but no dts track?
Review: As a person who revels in great sound, I found the dolby digital sound track flat and lifeless. I searched through every part of the disc for the dts track indicated on the box, but it isn't there! (for those without dts or with a tin ear, dts is usually much clearer and punchy than DD5.1)
The 5.1 channel sound is more like 2.1.1.1.1 - there is almost no sound from the front center or the rear channels. My guess is that it is synthesized from a 2 channel original.
Video quality is fairly colorless and subdued - which I would have overlooked if the sound had just been awsome.
If I can find the receipt, I will be taking this back due to the false advertising of the dts track.

Summary: Best gift i've ever bought and wanted for myself
Review: I bought this for my mom-in-law for Mother's Day. Of all the stuff she got, this is the one she raves about. We've watched it 3 times since then. As soon as she gets her DVD player hooked up, i will buy her Sade - Lovers Live DVD, but she has to give me the VHS tape...I see myself purchasing 2 DVDs and 1 CD...its that good. Sade really gets down, has a good time and takes you there with her. I would recommend it as a gift anytime, even for folks who claim not to be big fans. Its definitely a pleaser!!

Summary: Sade at her finest
Review: Fantastic concert and DVD. Lot's of extras and of course the concert. What can I say that hasn't already been said here. If you like Sade, then you must buy it. If you don't know her that well, you owe it to yourself to see Sade in concert. She has an amazing presence and her band is one of tightest you will find.

Review: I must confess that I am a big Sade fan.However,her latest DVD provides proof that she, and her band are only getting better with the passing of time.

Summary: worse than San Diego
Review: Same Sade with almost same band members from the legendary San Diego performance in '93(?), performs much worse in '00 MGM Grand performance. Her voice loses power, charisma and charms. Only left with her husky tone.
Her band loses liveliness in this performance. Especially the guitarist/sexophonist looks much older than in '93 and plays like old man. What is worse is the second guitarist. What is his backgroud? Metal, Thrash? Intro power codes he played in "Paradise" is just aweful. The overall sound quality and picture quality of this DVD is just average, not excellent. Don't recommend to buy one if you already have '93 performance or unless you are collecting every album of SADE. '93 Performance is much more artistic, inspiring and attractive.

Review: Sorry, this isn't a review but I need to know if this DVD is truly widescreen anamorphic (enhanced for 16:9) as stated at the top. Nobody in 30 reviews has mentioned this. I have searched all related web sites and emailed Sony Music with no response.

Summary: Sade is QUEEN
Review: This is one exciting, enjoyable and fantastic concert that I got a chance to enjoy because of this dvd! I'm so glad Sade is back performing live, she's a gem! She really gives it her all in concerts and the audience was genuinely happy and clearly enjoyed her performance as did I. Some artists are made for the live stage and I can definitely Sade is one! Excellent!
