Summary: The new standard for Music DVDs!!!
Review: If only other record companies would take note of this generous production. Rather than cheaply issueing the previously available VHS concert on the DVD format which is sadly the norm...and often with little picture or sound upgrade.....THIS is how it should be done.

1) the concert in its entirety, with more footage than previously avialable and presented from the BEST source material and its very very good.

2) the BONUS material on disc TWO and this is the huge difference
1) a new feature on recalling the show which is a very revealing and interesting program watchable more than once
2) a documentary featuring interviews and footage surrounding the concert with many backstage interviews which is a wonderful accompanyment to the concert
3) several songs from the show which feature multi angle viewing so the viewer can watch any of the players isolated during the entire song or bounce around. This is really fun to see Freddie during Brian's solos or watch John bounce around stage with his Bass, sort of a loose canon...
4)rehearsal and footage from Fridays concert...THIS is amazing stuff and the performance of Crazy Little Thing called love in the rain is epic....

and MORE footage and MORE interviews etc etc.

If you like Queen , this is a slam dunk, if you like music , this is a must . We know that this type of footage exists for many other acts and why they don't issue proper DVDs and take advantage of this format to present definitive versions of programs previously available on VHS irks many of us. I hope everybody buys this DVD and thereby sends a message to the labels that we DO appreciate the extra money and effort to make definitive presentations ......and perhaps this will be imitated by others.....

Summary: What a concert!
Review: I was fortunate enough to see Queen during "THE GAME" tour in 1980 and it was a show I'll never forget. This Live at Wembley '86 reminded me of their legacy and it's one I've yet to remove from the tray.

The setlist is amazing and to think they could have performed back-to-back shows as so many great songs DIDN'T make it to the stage for this tour. Somebody To Love, You're My Best Friend, It's Late, Killer Queen, Brighton Rock, Keep Yourself Alive, Fat Bottom Girls, and so many others. Still, it's a great show and the best music DVD I've purchased to date. Freddie and the boys put on a production that was unseen it's day.

My only negative comment (and the reason for only 4 stars****) is targeted toward the editing department and not the band. Too many non-stop angle changes rather than allowing the viewer to focus on either the band or the individual performer. That said, it still kicks. I also remind myself that this was recorded pre-DVD technology and the picture and sound are phenomenol. I have a feeling the band may have had final say on this release.

Bonus DVD is well worth it. Great interviews, unseen footage, slideshow and more. It gives you the feeling the remaining members are sincere, true gentlemen who were and still are passionate about QUEEN. There will never be another like it. BUY THIS DVD!!

Summary: A classic
Review: Me and my husband saw this concert live at the famous stadium all them years ago. To this day it was the best experience we had. This DVD is the closest we will ever get to what it was like for us again. Walking up Olympic Way to the Wembley Towers always made any one going to the Stadium awe at the history of the now late Wembley.

The sound hear is as clear as it was seeing them live and the extras helped enhance the experience of 18 years ago. Everyone there would talk to each other even though they did not know each other. Then when Queen ran on the famous Wembley roar was as loud then as it is on the DVD. An experiecen I will never forget.

The extras will help make any Wembley or Queen fan feel nostalgic. The Wembley Towers bit was very poignent. An earlier review said it was a waste. Well its not. In UK when the discussion arose about what to do with the towers when the new Wembley is being built caused a much heated debate, sadly they will not see the new Wembley. Its the towers which was the symbol of Wembley. Its under the towers that has seen many sporting moments. So for two patriotic Queens to show their feeligns summed up the whole country's regret that they are not staying.

Summary: For the Love of QUEEN
Review: Very awesome concert, I could listen to this all day. The preformance was one perfection. QUEEN gave the crowd what they wanted. Action, excitement and a ton of music. This is the real thing.
What always impressed me of QUEEN is how they include their fans in singing the songs with them.

QUEEN is now a heavy metal band like so many out there. Listen to the audiance sing "Love of my life" with Freddie. I have seen so many of their concerts from other countries and no matter what language they speak the crowd can still sing with QUEEN.

Freddie Mercury is what made QUEEN so popular from the early 70's to even now almost 13 years after the tragic death of Freddie Mercury. Watching this video you will feel Freddie's presence.

This DVD is a must for any QUEEN Fan. Do yourself a favor and get it, you will be glad you did, and the price is very afforable.

QUEEN FOREVER!

Summary: Live at Wembley
Review: I have been to 5 Queen concerts at Madison Square Garden since the release of "A Day at the Races" the last being the "Hot Space" tour. I've always said that Queen was the greatest live band of my time and possibly of all times. This release by Hollywood records proves me right! It was alway my dream to see Queen perform in one of the world's most famous venues (Wembley) but unfortunately that never happened, so I have to settle for second best. This DVD has the entire concert in DTS 5.1 and PCM sound format and then some! It has footage of Queen in rehearsal, tracks from the first concert at Wembley, new interviews with Brian and Roger (No Deacon), and interviews with their tour Manager Gerry Stickells and concert Director Gavin Taylor. Going back to the Main Event, Queen coasts through almost every one of their greatest hits (No Sombody to Love)and the audience's participation is something to see. Freddie always said he wrote music for the audience to escape into and have fun with, and boy is the audience having a great time. Freddie leads the audience with some impressive vocal scales and the audience responds with equally impressive scales, the audience participates in hand clapping songs such as Radio GaGa (in the tradition of the video),We will Rock You, then as usual the audience goes crazy with Bohemian Rhapsody.
The band also does interesting covers of Hello Mary Lou, Your So Square, Tutti Frutti, Gimme Some Lovin.
I think anyone who appreciates great music, whether you are a Queen fan or not, should give this Gem of a concert a look.
Queen wrote "Who Wants to Live Forever?" and answered the question with this performance.

Summary: whats with the interviews?
Review: this wembly show is queen at their finest.
i saw them in kansas city 1984(?) and sat in the back of kemper arena right in the center just above stage height. the best place too get the full sound affect.
i also got the privlidge to sit down with roger john and brian at the crown royal hotel before sound check and chat with them for about an hour drinking whisky sours.
freddy wasnt around as always (according to them).

after that show i was hooked because of the incredible lighting and brian mays guiter genius.
i went out and bought all the albums.
(the old stuff is the best).

this dvd concert shows queen dressed as pro-musicians and not in stupid outfits like on some of the vids theyve done before.
the color selection of white and yellow with red strips clothing perfectly matched their music.

i did not like the interviews they spliced in the middle of the show......all it did was give me an excuse to go to the john.
also i never could figure out......why john deacon just stands there...like hes not part of the band.
i wish he couldve been more buddy buddy and into the music with the rest of the band. (maybe its because he didnt get to write most of the music?)

queen music is magically done of coarse but......is roger taylor really the best drummer in the world?...hardly not.
he just seems to carry the beat.
(but he does have a cool drum solo during the concert).

all in all this show is one of my favs and i will never get bored of it. its one of those concerts you have to watch if youve just got heavy bills to pay or you just wrecked yer car.
this concert will certainly bring you out of depression right from the beginning.
its a very uplifting and musically stimulating show.

they should have left out the song delilah.
(song about freddys cat?).
during the middle of the song Bohemian Rhapsody they all vanish from stage and let the tape play the chorus parts.

great concert!

Summary: If you buy only one Queen DVD . . .
Review: This is a model DVD release for a rock band. No corners seem to have been cut! The concert footage itself is very good, the extras are excellent, and there's a lot of care and attention paid to every last detail of the packaging. This probably isn't the best concert in Queen's history, but it's probably the best filmed Queen concert, and that's more than good enough for me. Everything you loved, or hated, or loved to hate about the band is preserved in exceptional detail. It's almost like being there. I prefer this DVD to other filmed Queen concerts, to be honest. Queen were not only first-rate rockers but also fantastic showmen, and Freddie and Brian's showmanship is nothing but captivating. This is one of my favorite concert DVDs, and is well worth a purchase instead of the collections of Queen lip-synched videos also available on the market.

Summary: Great but Budapest on DVD would be better
Review: Great DVD, but the Budapest show (from the same year, and only available on VHS) seems to be more popular among Queen fans. Freddie's voice isn't his best during this performance. Still, any Queen show deserves 5 stars.

IN RESPONSE TO THE PREVIOUS REVIEWER: The "Bohemian Rhapsody" opera segment is slightly ruined on this DVD. It was sort of a tradition for Queen to simply leave the stage during the opera section and play the record, while the audience and lights took care of the rest. (Queen COULDN'T perform the opera section live, and were opposed to playing onstage with backing tapes, so they were honest about it.) Being there, it was actually a very fun part of the show! Unfortunately, the DVD doesn't show the audience or the incredible lighting rigs that moved around the stage during the opera section; instead, it shows clips from the video, which every one has seen already. (The opera section is filmed much better on the Budapest show.)

Like Queen's other DVDs, it's loaded with extras (like being able to watch only one band member during certain songs) and is inexpensive so it's a great value.

The "We Will Rock You" concert DVD was shot a few years before this show, so you may want that if you like more of their late-'70s songs. Both DVDs are great to have since the tracklisting is quite a bit different between the two.

Summary: Would have gotten a 5 if they would have performed more
Review: Yes, they have a huge set list and tons of songs. They perform them all near flawlessly, but I was angry because of one thing. They don't perform the break in "Bohemian Rhapsody." This is one of the reasons I bought this DVD. I wanted to see how they managed to pull it off live, but that still remains a mystery after watching it. Other than that, it is great. You get to hear and see one of the most amazing rock vocalists of all time, and one of the best guitar players too. If you like Queen you'll like this DVD. If you like good music, you'll like this DVD too. Just to be given the opportunity to watch Queen's last performance is a great gift and anyone that sees it should be appreciative of it.

Summary: Queen rocks on!!
Review: I own 2 other Queen DVDs (We Will Rock You and Greatest Hits), but this is my favorite. Not only does it include a ton of great songs from much of the band's history, but there are some great extras too. The sound (especially guitar-listen to "Tie Your Mother Down" solo) is awesome, and the spectacular stage presence and light show typical of Queen is at its best here-especially the explosions in "Hammer to Fall". It's also cool how they spliced in footage from the old "Bohemian Rhapsody" video, too. Could have had some songs like "Let Me Entertain You" but, oh well, it's still great!
