Summary: Genesis at a Peak
Review: This dvd is amazing! ... As to the contents of the dvd, they are amazing. There is 8hrs of footage(counting all the different camera angles you can watch), the song selection is excellent, the bonus stuff and sound is great too! For any Genesis fan, this is a must have.

Summary: Very Good!!
Review: This DVD isn't perfect, but true fans of Genesis should enjoy it immensely. Unfortunately, we have little else in the way of Genesis concert footage to compare to, so we HAVE to like it!It's tough for a band that has as much material as Genesis to decide what they can play in a two hour set. Obviously the focus is on late 80's and early 90's releases, which means they don't have much time to spend on the old stuff. Those of us who saw them in the late 70's will want SO much more of Squonk, Dance..., The Lamb, The Musical Box, etc. These were truly awe inspiring live compositions, and it is a shame they only included them in a medley. We can only hope for the future!

Also slightly disappointing is the sound quality. For the band that was so creative with deep bass in their early years, this recording is fairly thin. There is virtually no sub woofer track despite the 5.1 label and the volume in surround sound mode bonces up and down annoyingly. I even tried two copies, because I figured mine was defective!

The good news is that the band is SO tight live. Their renditions of studio tracks are accurate to the original and yet still different enough so they don't feel canned. Chester Thompson and Darryl Stuermer are technically solid, and fill out the sound enormously on stage. Mike Rutherford is a decent enough guitar player, but the hard stuff seems to be left to Stuermer. Tony Banks never seems ruffled, and sometimes you wonder if he is really enjoying himself, or just going through the motions. His song writing and keyboard skills are unquestioned, however.

Phil is the consumate showman, dancing, telling jokes, and playing drums. His duet with Chester is definitely a highlight of the DVD. Phil seems to really enjoy his time behind the drums best, and it's the only time he really gets lost in the music. The light and video show are pretty good as well.

I would highly recommend this DVD to any hard core Genesis fan as well as those who discovered them in the 80's when they became more commercial. There's good stuff here for all. And for the old timers - please give us a "Second's Out" DVD!!

Summary: Great concert, very poor packaging
Review: This is a great DVD, too bad the packaging is sooo shabby and the documentation is so poor. You would think for the price this company is charging for this dvd you would get:1} a nice case. 2} nice booklet outlining the concert with photos and song listings Plus Plus Plus. No booklet no photos, not one ounce of documentation anywhere to be found, just two really flimsy discs in the cheapest case I have ever gotten a dvd in. At 50$+ This is the most I have ever paid for a DVD. Its really a shame that they don't give one of the best bands of all time and great concert overall, the packing and care it deserves.Even the DVDs themselfs look shabby at this price no excuse for this.In the future I will avoid GutDVD, they really gutted this package and charged out the Ying yang. At least the music is still great they could not diminish that even though they tried their hardest.

Summary: Incredible
Review: This is a prize amongst my dvd collection. This is an incredible concert that was a long time coming to dvd. The quality of production is excellent. Multi camera views are a nice plus.

"Home by the Sea" and "Driving the Last Spike" are so incredibly done I can watch them over and over again. And oh what a pleasure to watch Phil Collins and Chester Thompson do their drum duet/battle. Man that is so cool!

I regret not seeing this tour live, but at least I can always cherish my dvd! Please, one last tour, please, please, please...

Summary: Are you kidding me?
Review: This is not a good dvd. Genesis continues to make fools of themself plays such bad material. They should be banned. I can remember when Genesis was a great name in rock that put out such great albums like The Lamb Lies Down Broadway. What happened?

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This is their best concert video, which is why I'm glad they chose to release this on dvd first. The picture and sound quality are perfect. It has just a slightly raw sound, but to me, that's what makes this dvd sound so good, like I'm actually there. The performance is incredible. Phil has a lot of energy and some very comedic moments. The rest of the band are also in top form, especially Chester Thompson. I've seen all the live Genesis and Phil Collins live videos and this is Chester's absolute best performance. My only complaint is the price of this dvd...

Summary: Very well done
Review: This video and acc. cds reminded me how much I enjoy Genesis. After MTV's attempt to overexpose them in the '80's, I could hardly stand to hear them. Thankfully I have now discovered they were still putting out incredible songs and arrangements. This video is actually very entertaining... as opposed to many concert videos that are incredibly one-dimensional. LOTS of extras that add various dimensions... well worth the cost. It reminds me just how much Genesis is also a very visual band. Being a drummer, I especially love the shots of Phil and Chester playing. Not surprisingly, 10+ yr old Genesis music STILL beat anything released since. Unlike today's "groups", they weren't ones to follow trends, they stayed true to their music and themselves.

Summary: Better than nothing
Review: Unfortunately, there aren't many Genesis DVDs out there to compare it against. The songs are all awesome, as expected. The main problem with this DVD is that it is split into two discs. The additional camera footage isn't all that interesting. This set would have been much better if it was on one disc. By the way, this isn't the Earl's Court concert, but the one at Texas Stadium in Dallas.
For the Genesis fan, you won't be disappointed to have this in your collection!
