Summary: A Must For All Priest Fanatics
Review: From www.MaximumMetal.com

The literal shortage of DVD product from Judas Priest alone makes this something that is worth picking up from the local music store or your favorite online dealer. This DVD not only features every Judas Priest video ever made and a full concert from the "Fuel For Life" ("Turbo") tour. It also features a score of BBC live appearances. Truly a value packed item for the dollar. Looking back on the videos section you have to admit that they were a bit cheesy. Yet "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight" are timeless in the minds of the older Priest fans who remember when MTV not only played videos but also played a lot of metal music (yes, there was such a time). Of course, at the time the format of music and video together was new. Bands were still feeling the ground of combining their musical expressions along with the visual medium and the ways it could be made to work. To this day my very favorite videos remain "Freewheel Burning" and "Painkiller". However I will leave discussion of "Hot Rockin" for another person. than the videos that they released for being honest, Judas Priest videos were pretty cheesy.

Videos: Living After Midnight, Breaking The Law, Don't Go, Heading Out To The Highway, Hot Rockin', You've Got Another Thing Comin', Freewheel Burning, Love Bites, Locked In, Turbo Lover, Johnny B. Goode, Painkiller, A Touch Of Evil.

The BBC Footage is indeed a blast from the past. Seeing Rob Halford with a full mane of Robert Plant like hair was a very strange site for he had either the shaved head of many years or the short cropped style from "Hell Bent For Leather". Most tracks seem to be lip-synched, but it is quite cool to see them just the same. You even get to see long absent drummer Les Binks who was an excellent part of the band in their history.

The BBC Pieces: Rocka Rolla, Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver, Take On The World, Evening Star, Living After Midnight, United.

1986 "Fuel For Life" Tour:
The concert section of the DVD is filmed during the "Turbo" tour which was referred to as the "Fuel For Life" Tour. This tour was not a favorite of the hard core Priest fan as it took out heavier staple numbers and replaced them with some of the more "pop-metal" tunes The Priest had created. You are not going to win older fans over when you remove songs like "Beyond The Realms Of Death" and "Sinner" with "Private Property" and "Parental Guidance" (considered lame by the old school fans). While this was not a "Defenders Of The Faith" level performance, the sound was still quite good and it is nice to see this available again in a quality format. The VHS of this concert was long out of print in the 90's. The only other DVD of Priest is the one included in the "Metalogy" boxed set (reviewed elsewhere on this site). That show is from the "Screaming For Vengeance" tour and gives those in need of heavier Priest their fill. I should mention that the "Live In London" DVD is also heavy, but features Tim "Ripper" Owens on vocals and not Rob Halford. Purists seemed to avoid that piece and it was misguided for them to do so, as Ripper did a helluva job in the band.

With Judas Priest being reunited with Rob Halford and hard at work on a new album and tour it will be logical that some new DVD will perhaps be forthcoming from them. Given the recent Ozzfest tour I am hoping for us fans that some of this footage will be released as they were clearly the best portion of the evenings excitement. However, until new material is ready we shall only have the "Electric Eye" DVD. The overall sound and tunes come out very good (and I saw this tour as well), it was great to see Priest as a band on top of their game. At that point in Metal history, there really was no bigger band than Judas Priest. It is a recommended purchase for any Metal DVD Library.

Summary: What a great Priest Deal!
Review: How any Priest fan can give this less than 5 stars is beyond me! This DVD is "LOADED"! You get all the videos, rare appearances, PLUS the entire Turbo Live concert! All this for 12 bucks? This is a great DVD for any true Judas Priest fan! With Rob Halford back in the band, I am sure other DVD's will become available. This makes a great companion to the "Iron Maiden- Visions Of The Beast" DVD if, like most Priest fans, you are a Maiden fan too.

Review: I don't have to go into this DVD, but if your Priest fan like me for the past 25 years then you are gonna love it!

Summary: Excellent material, tolerable production effort
Review: I had to think a bit before deciding on a 4 star rating instead of a three star for this DVD. The Dallas concert footage was Priest at a high point, albeit more commercial than most of their tours, and the sound is pretty good, but after seeing the New Led Zeppelin DVD, the lack of remastering made me cringe. The slow mo and special effects shots are what they are, typical concert video that a band hopes to get played on MTV and the like. It's dated, but then, so is the concert, so live with it!

The videos....... oh, the pain! They also could have been remastered, but they too were left alone. There is, of course, no way to eliminate the incredible camp of the early videos. I chuckle to think that the local Harley riders lived for Priest where I grew up! The inclusion of the version of Painkiller without the added MTV video footage was nice, and, of course A Touch Of Evil is incredible. BUT.... without a doubt the best material is the two early, pre leather videos, showcasing the band's early development, and Halford's incredible vocal range, if not his taste in clothing. Another plus is the discography section, which actually includes an entire cut from each album.

If you have the videos Fuel For Life or Live, get this DVD. If you don't, but like Priest, get it anyway.

Summary: "Priest Live" + "Priest Videos".....Nothing More.
Review: I thought this was suppose to be a full set of Judas Priest playing live during their "Screaming For Vengence Tour". It's nothing more than "Priest Live" with some extra MTV videos thrown in....

I already have "Priest Live". This was a waste of money, and the DVD title "Electric Eye" is very deceiving. There is nothing here I haven't seen before. Don't waste your time.....

UP THE IRONS!!!

Review: I'm disappointed in this DVD. It's a combo of JP live and fuel for fire. The video quality is real bad very bleached out and extremely choppy. I have both JP live and Fuel For Fire on Video tape and they are a nicer copy. Had I known I would not have bought it. It's a real shame, I love the Priest I have all their albums including the "ripper" Albums without Rob.

Summary: BEWARE: DUAL LAYER WILL CREATE PAUSE
Review: If you don't mind a four second pause at THE SENTINAL in the live concert section. This is the second live concert DVD I have purchased this year that has a long pause in between tracks. RHINO tells me this occurs when the machine transfers to another layer. I don't know what the hell that's supposed to mean. Except that perhaps they should add another DVD! Who wants a live DVD that stops and pauses. Very cheap and unprofessional. BTW: Both of my returned versions had this skip!

Summary: Another Good Dvd Package
Review: If you're a Judas Priest fan(which you must be if you're reading this), buying this dvd is pretty much a no-brainer. Even if you read negative reviews, you'll probably get it anyway to complete your collection. Is it good? You bet! Especially for the price. The videos are lots of fun to watch. Priest was a great band, but they really make themselves look silly with these videos. Rob Halford must think he's in a play or Broadway musical with the way he overacts constantly. Many reviewers have said, "how couldn't you tell he was gay?" Well, you'll see where they're coming from, especially with the Point Of Entry videos. Remember the Police Academy movies? Remember how they would always trick the police captain and Proctor into going to the Blue Oyster bar? In the video "Don't Go", you'll swear that Halford just stepped out of that place. These may sound like complaints, but it's all this stuff that makes these videos so fun to watch. My favorite being "Freewheel Burning" coz of the Pole Position game and the laser lights. And who could forget the exploding head in "Another Thing Comin'?" The concert gets mixed reviews coz it's from the Turbo tour. I know it's not the tour we would have all picked, but it's still enjoyable and makes the dvd even more worth the money. Basically what it comes down to is if you liked the Iron Maiden dvd and how it was set up, you'll most likely dig this.

Summary: good collection for the fans
Review: In the 80's, I loved all these videos, but they seem totally cheesey now. Especially Hot Rockin' and Don't Go. But it's good for a laugh now. This dvd has all the videos from Fuel For Life, plus a few from the Painkiller and Ram It Down albums. If you watched MTV in the early 80's, you've seen the video for You've got another thing Comin' so there's no surprisees there. Then there's the Priest...Live thing from Dallas, Tx on the Turbo tour. It's the same as the video version. It has all the lame slow motion camera shots and jumping around the whole concert during one song and all that. I personally wish this show would have been filmed and edited the same way Live In Memphis or Live In London was filmed, but that's the way it goes. If you want to see slow motion shots, pyro technics going off at some places where it obviously really didn't happen and stuff like that, then you'll love the Priest...Live portion of this dvd.
Of course the real reason to buy this dvd is the rare BBC recordings. That's something not too many people have seen before and it's never been previously released on video. (not in this country anyway) In this part, you get Rocka Rolla, Dreamer Deceiver, Evening Star, Take On The world, Deceiver, and a few others.
This dvd is great for all the judas priest fans. I don't think this dvd will win over any new fans, though. If you're a new fan, I'd get Live In London first, or wait for them to release Live In Memphis.
