Summary: Best Damned Concert
Review: When this video was released way back in the nineties, I ran to the store to buy it. After seeing countless other concert videos since, I still say this is the absolute best live show you can find on DVD. The photography is beautiful, the editing is a good mix of band/audience footage, the sound quality beats anything, and come on, it's AC/DC--no other band could ever compare to these guys live! I've waited for this to come out on DVD for over a decade!

Summary: One hell of a concert!
Review: AC/DC's live at Donnington was one hell of a concert. man oh man do I wish I was there for that show. The band is top notch and in perfect form. All the songs are performed flawlessly. I swear AC/DC is the second greatest live band of all time. (second only to Aerosmith of course). This is truly an awesome show. The song selection is awsome, with the best of Bon Scotts era and Brian Johnsons era up untill 1990 of course. When you watch this make sure you watch the whole scene for 'Jailbreak' because if you didnt know before you will know afterwards why Angus Young is without a shadow of a doubt one of the very best guitar players that ever lived! Highly recomended!

Summary: This DVD Rox!!!
Review: This DVD is great. It has everything a concert DVD should have. I have watched mostly everything on here. I think on the Star Profiles there should've been one for Chris Slade (drummer). They had every member but him. That's my only regret, though. If you are an AC/DC fan and you have a surround sound system in your house, this is the DVD for you. I have never seen a band have a commentary on a concert before. It has 5.1 Surround Sound for great sound quality. Go buy this DVD and enjoy!

Review: No matter how many times you watch this DVD, it never gets old. I am a huge AC/DC fan, and my stamp of approval goes out to this DVD. I only wish that I had been there at the Donnington Castle when this concert actually happened. The concert has a great lineup. However, I was very upset to hear the band's version of "The Jack" from when Brian Johnson was the singer instead of Bon Scott's version. This is mostly due to the fact that I had never heard the newer version, and was quite suprised when all the words I was singing didn't match that of the DVD's at all. Not only is the main attraction great, but the extras include many features. For example, Angus and Malcolm have their own commentaries for EVERY album ever put together. Well, all I can say is BUY THIS DVD. I'm off to go watch it again.

Summary: Awsome concert and Angus is amazing but....
Review: I gave this dvd 4 stars because i love ac/dc and i love this concert but epic really butchered the audio on this dvd.What i mean is that the audio from the original vhs version is not the same on some tracks.Basically what you see is not what you hear.They've put a different live version of the same song on some tracks and it's very noticeable in some spots.I'm kind of dissapointed with this almost great dvd.I don't know why they just didn't put the original audio of the concert on this dvd or maybe thats the reason why this dvd is so inexpensive but you wouldn't think just transferring the the origianl concert from vhs to dvd would be so hard.But on the up side the picture qaulity is great and Angus's playing is amazing, just wish i could say his playing was amazing at that concert 12 years ago but i geuss i'll have to go back the vhs version for that.But check out ac/dc's other dvd's(that haven't been tampered with)"No Bull"(my fave) and "Stiff Upper Lip Live".

Review: ...how would i describe the ac/dc live at donington dvd? well, the words 'holy f**k!' come to mind immediately. this is without a doubt the largest single congregation of humans i've ever seen. (remarkably, in the commentary supplement of the disc, angus says this wasn't the largest audience they've played to!) this show is all about big: angus is dwarfed by monstrous speaker cabinets the size of apartment buildings. the colours on display make you think spielberg - long shots of the stage look like the mothership from the conclusion of close encounters of the third kind. roaming helicopter shots capture the colossal scope of the concert (there's nothing more cool than overhead helicopter footage at a rock show, right?) if francis ford coppola was to direct a concert picture it would look like this. it all becomes even more gloriously majestic as the sun sets on donington park, leicestershire, bringing out the colours in vivid magnificence. mike fraser's audio mix is powerfully awesome, that's a guarantee, of course. you can feel the low end marhsall stack growl from angus' gibson sg bore into your chest like a jackhammer. brian johnson commands the crowd with the authority of winston churchill, johnson the perfect foil to angus' grinning strip teases and exploding guitar solos. there is something purely satisfying in the way malcolm and angus deliver three chords, applying what i call their distinct 'youngian' technique: malcolm's concrete foundation dressed with angus' choice, succulent, frothing guitar licks. drummer chris slade and bassist cliff williams lay down the law that allows only ac/dc the ability to make a monster festival seem like an intimate club show. if you're an ac/dc fan you are officially ordered to take a look at this dvd. i've seen the bad boys two or three times, but never like this. when historians look back on the history of rock, it will be finely, lovingly, ultra high energy, respectfully crafted documents like this show that will showcase the epitome of rock's evolution from its chuck berry genesis. ultimately, the most delightful surprise found within ac/dc's live at donington dvd is not the unending catalogue of rock gems, gems that we expect from ac/dc, but rather the blues jams performed in the breakdown sections of songs like jailbreak and high voltage. it's akin to finding hidden bonus material. what you discover in these pieces are brand new songs in themselves, killer instrumental works, seething with raw, emotional energy. what you discover in these pieces is hard rock heaven...

Summary: Angus will rock your socks off
Review: Let me tell you one thing. This is one of the best Rock music DVD's you will ever see. Angus is the real show here. He gives us 15 minute solo's. They sound is very good. Sometimes you get live versions of the music and does not sound like the studio versions. This is not true here. The 5.1 DD is good and the video is sharp and bright.

Summary: A must for every AC/DC fan
Review: This DVD is absolutely electrifying. I love it. The songs on it are some of their best, Brian's voice is actually very good, pleasant to listen to, not nearly as shot as the Stiff Upper Lip DVD. The gig starts out with one of everyone's favorites, "Thunderstruck", and ends with one of their most powerful rock messages, "For Those about to Rock, We Salute You". Angus still has long hair that goes all over his face when he headbangs! It is truly amazing how much energy Angus has, hes a fairly old guy, but hes never too tired or too sweaty to do his fast-paced "duckwalk". Well, what do you expect from the greatest rock band of all time? These guys rule, they dont get into trends or fashions, they dont care what kind of music is popular, they do their own thing, and dont give a damn what anyone else thinks. One of the highlights of the DVD for me is "Jailbreak" where Angus goes through around 10 miniutes, if not more, of guitar solos, running, and headbanging. The only setback for me, and this is just a personal opinion, is that Chris Slade is the drummer for this concert. I prefer Phil Rudd's classic drum beat, and he's a lot cooler than Chris, no offense Slade. No other band rocks harder onstage than AC/DC, and thats a fact. You will want to watch this concert over and over again, this really is a good one, and its longer than the Stiff Upper Lip concert. There is also a commentary from Angus and Malcolm version of the concert, where you watch the concert while listening to Angus and Mal explain it all to you, which is a pretty cool feature. I cant seem to notice any "voice" on the DVD version that a previous reviewer talked about. The only voice i hear is Brian's, if you can tell what clock time this "voice" comes up then itd be cool. Not much more to say, great concert, great buy, great band. Keep on rockin.

Summary: An average AC/DC DVD
Review: This concert is a basic AC/DC concert. If you have seen any other AC/DC DVD you have seen this. It is a great DVD but angus does to much improvising with his guitar. That seems to drag the concert out. Angus has trouble with his guitar in Let There Be Rock it seems and it is a little bit annoying. I didn't have a clue that this DVD had been overdubbed. They Say the solo in Fire your guns was changed and that was a fast hard rocking solo but I can't like it anymore. I just want raw hard rock angus never needs overdubbing. Overall it is a good purchase with some good songs. Brian performs every Bon song great exept for jailbreak he sucks at that. Oh and if you don't like the camera moving so much just watch some of the songs in Angus,Malcom,Biran and Cliff Cam.

Summary: One of the greatest concerts on video EVER - BUT.....
Review: I have had the VHS version of this concert for years and I've noticed that on the DVD version, the sound has been altered. Some of Angus's lead licks were slightly edited and at the end of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", Angus holds his hand up in the air and screams into the microphone. Well, the video of him doing that is present on the DVD, but the audio of his screaming was edited out! I was a bit disappointed with that. Also, on "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", certain sections have "backward masking" in it. If you listen real close, there is definitely a voice talking. It's unmistakeable. If anyone out there can figure out how to isolate the voice and figure out what it says, please let me know. Probably something like, "your mother sews socks that smell", or something. Did you know that if you play the Mr. Ed themesong backwards, you can hear a voice say, "s-s-s-s-s-s-s-satan?" HA HA HA!
