Summary: WOW what an amazing concert
Review: I am one of the biggest pearl jam supporters since they broke big back in the early 90's and they have never disappointed me and this dvd just reassures me that they never will. i was able to get the cd lost dogs and the dvd on the saturday before the public could buy the cd/dvd by ordering through pearljamstoreonline and i was instantly blown away. the entire band has such a great chemistry and are able to connect with every fan inside the garden. highlights for me that stand out is the crowd singing the chorus of betterman to the band (definetly got some chills there), indifference w/ ben harper (simply b/c it might be my favorite PJ song ever), and baba o riley (teenage wasteland for those not familiar w/ the who or havent heard PJ cover it before) the band along w/ steve diggle of the buzzcocks had so much energy even after an over 2.5 hour set...just amazing LONG LIVE PEARL JAM and ALL THE TRUE LOYAL FANS THAT HAVE STUCK WITH THEM

Summary: Has to be five stars.....
Review: I love how people get technical about the quality of the picture, choice of show, sound quality or the strength of their performance (which by the way all these things are excellent in this DVD). I know the grainy picture was the intention in Touring Band, but LATG if filmed crytal clear. Pearl Jam today seems like a love/hate relationship with people- you either understand the music, respect them and are baffled at their talent and importance in modern rock music today; or you just don't get it.... I love Pearl Jam and if you are a fan, you're going to get this - end of story. I truly appreciate this band - in all they've given back to us and I continue to look forward to what they'll give us in the future.......Truly one of the most important bands in modern rock music -and if you don't understand that, you never will.

Review: I must say that this is just an amazing dvd, I just got it yesterday and can't stay away from watching it. Having such songs as an excelent version of "In my tree" from their best album to me "No code" is already worth the prize. Also songs like Yellow ledbetter and Black and of course new songs like I am mine, love boat captain and the beautiful thumbing my way it's such a plasure. If you like rock n' roll at its best go buy this dvd right now!!!!!

Summary: Everyone should be required to buy this.
Review: I remember a friend of mine coming back from the city and talking non-stop about the Pearl Jam show he had been to the night before. I love Pearl Jam, but it was getting on my nerves...(maybe i was just upset I didn't go!) But anyway, when the DVD came out, I bought it, and watched. I haven't stopped kicking myself for not going to the show. All of the songs are played so well. The second disc is my favorite. The first time I saw "Daughter" I just was entranced, and as soon as they broke into "With my own two hands" with ben harper, I knew that this show was superior to any other. "Indifference" is played so well that I almost broke into tears. I got chills when PJ played "baba" as an "encore" and as the rest of the band walked off stage, mike mcready started to play "ledbetter" as one last song. Don't just buy this DVD. Buy it and be glad your a human being.

Summary: A great gift for a Pearl Jam fan
Review: I rushed to the store before noon today to buy both this and their "Lost Dogs" CD, so it was a Pearl Jam day for me- that's about a good six hours of their material. I watched this DVD first, and I was not disappointed.

It's a pretty long set- 32 tracks and about three hours long, plus an hour of bonus material. There are many pleasant surprises here, such as rare appearances of the songs "Lowlight", "Gimme Some Truth", "Faithful", "Spin the Black Circle", and "Breath". However, it's ironic that the band chose to put this show out on DVD because it's probably not their best one from the tour, notably falling behind their Massachusetts and even their July 9th New York shows. The band seems a bit rusty in the beginning especially, and Eddie doesn't talk a whole lot. That much said, this is still a good show. The band at times seems to be having great fun, and the crowd is really into the set, showing excitement for such songs unknown to the mainstream as "Lowlight". Ben Harper makes a terrific guest performance, and the show really does close out with a bang with a great version of "Baba O'Riley".

Comparisons between "Live at the Garden" and "Touring Band 2000" are inevitable. They are advantages to both formats. "Touring Band 2000" had more variety in its set list and it was fun watching how the band played in all the different cities, but "Live at the Garden" is much less piecemeal and has more material in it. They are both great holiday gifts for Pearl Jam fans like me, and any hardcore one is sure to enjoy "Live at the Garden".

Summary: Decadence catches up with the godfathers of grunge.
Review: I thought this was a very lackluster performance by Pearl Jam. There really is nothing to it. They have no stage show whatsoever and if they are going to be putting on a half assed concert they should start thinking about adding something like a laser light show or at least a strobe light!!

In addition, I really wish that Amazon would have posted a list of the songs that the DVD contains. I dont think I would have bought this particular DVD If I had seen the set list. I recognized 4 songs on the entire 1st disc. They opened with "Love Boat Captain" and played songs such as "Save You", "In My Tree" and "Green Disease"?? Where the hell have I been?! If I have ever heard these tunes before I dont remember it and I can't say that I am any better off from hearing them. I think I have heard more cutting edge lyrics in beatnik poetry.

I bought this DVD because I own several Pearl Jam CDs and they all rock. I especially like the European bootlegs that I bought directly from the band's website;they rip. This live performance at the garden sucked compared to the live performances that I have listened to and expected from this performance.

I would suggest looking into some of their earlier performances and you will hopefully find the real band.

Summary: Lost it long ago
Review: I used to really like Pearl Jam when 10 came out. In fact - it inspired me to pick up a guitar for the first time. I figured if they could do it - I could. Not a good place to start in hindsight. Looking back now, Mike McCready is pretty feeble and has delusions of Hendrix.

I stopped listening to them after everyone jumped on the bandwagon and they started releasing those excremental follow-up albums. A friend of mine was paying this DVD at his place the other day and I got a shock. I've not followed them since about 1992 and I couldn't believe how old they've got and how annoying Eddie Vedder's voice has become. Does he try to sing like a goat screwing a sheep or is it unintentional? Whatever - he's awful.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

What a shock to see a bunch of former rockers, playing boring music, looking old, tardy and fat from too many good meals.

They had so much potential.

Summary: Not what I expected...
Review: I was so excited to see that Pearl Jam was coming out with this DVD--mostly because I missed out on the last tour.

If you buy this DVD, you will get to hear some some great live music and will have a huge setlist, but this is definitely not something interesting to watch. Back in the day Eddie was a showman, but not anymore. With this DVD, you basically get to see Eddie standing at a mic and singing. That's it. Combine this with relatively bland camera work and you'll get very bored very quick. Maybe it's the fact that Pearl Jam are getting older, but this performance just doesn't seem very inspired and has a very low energy level. My roomate is the biggest Pearl Jam fanatic I know---He was literally angry and wouldn't watch this. He couldn't believe the lack of showmanship and energy from the band.

There are some bright moments on this DVD--Like I said the music is fantastic as always-- I Am Mine is a beautiful song and comes across great. "You Are" sounds very cool as on the album. The classics like "Black" and "Betterman" are also great.

I would definitely recommend this for any serious fan, but the casual Pearl Jam fan will simply find this very boring. Save a few bucks and just buy a live CD... If you're looking for high octane, energized, and emotional performances(like I was and didn't find with this DVD)- look for Coldplay Live 2003 which is (tons of energy and emotion; 5 stars), and U2 Go Home; Live from Slane Castle 2001.

Summary: LOOK FOR THE EASTER EGG!!!
Review: I was thrilled to receive this DVD. I knew Pearl Jam would not disappoint. I have "Touring Band" and "Live at the Showbox" and those DVD's, however different, were great to watch.

The setlist for this 2-disc DVD set has some old and new songs, as well as cover songs that they normally play in concert. If you like Temple of the Dog, you'll be happy when you find the easter egg on disc 1. "HUNGER STRIKE" is an unmarked track after the "Intermission." Just let it play through and you'll find it...
