Summary: G3 Great Video!
Review: Great video for all guitarists out there who love watching the masters at work.Satch is his usual great, Eric Johnson plays with great feel & emotion. Steve Vai was truly the most remarkable, as he plays with so much energy and emotion. His solo during "Answers" is the best I've ever seen and its LIVE!

Summary: Only being at the concert could be better!
Review: The 3G's perform like no other guitarists can. Their skillful mastery of the fretboard of their six string assault weapons is unparalleled. Satch's cool style and ferocious attack; Johnson is laid back and unassuming, but when he plays, people pay attention; and little Stevie Vai...he plays much like his character in the movie Crossroads-like he sold his soul to the devil, almost possessed. For the final three songs, when all three guitarists play together, you would think the world was coming to an end and they were leading the way to Heaven. It's phenomenal. A must have for the guitar enthusiast!!

Summary: One of the most incredible concert videos ever.
Review: Satriani, Johnson and Vai show their talent in this 76 minute video. The guitar riffs are frenetic but tasteful. These three men show why they are considered among the best in the world at their trade.

Summary: The things that get you through life
Review: I really wish more live footage of Satriani like this would be taped. Get this tape if you are a fan. It is well done and displays extraordinary quality. When all three guitarists jam together you realize they are true musicians only interested in creating a masterpiece. Job well done.

Summary: 3 guitarists that can out play the best in the world
Review: Where to begin......my favorite portion is obviously the jam session at the end. But the highlight of the video is not Vai or Satriani, but Eric Johnson. I don't think there is anyone in the world who can match his tone and fingerwork. I mean look at his fingerwork during his blues progressions during Manhattan, Red House and SRV. I love Satch and Vai, but they just don't compare to the tone master himself. My only complaint is that the video was too short. Come on....3 songs a piece??? Give me a break, 3 songs are an injustice to the caliber of playing that these three have. Hope there is a sequel coming soon.

Review: I went to see G3 play at the Manchester Apollo here in England. They didn't have Eric Johnson but Adrian Legg. It was a totaly new experience. Vai and Satch played like it was their last gig together and a video should have been made to go with the UK leg of the tour. Regarding the G3 video, all 3 kick butt and Vai as usual plays to perfection. Mike Mancini is an exellent side kick to Vai.

Summary: Once-in-a-lifetime-performance of these three guitar greats!
Review: You will probably never witness a more extraordinary triad of electric guitar players playing their incredible and moving music on one stage! Joe Satriani shows how he is one the greatests with his "Summer Song." Steve Vai, who played with Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Public Image Ltd., and others, proves that he puts his heart, as well as bares his soul, into each of his songs with his most awe-inspiring, spiritual, elightening masterpieces: "For The Love of God". Eric Johnson adds a little blues into the mix with a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn. The best comes at the end with all three of them jamming on one stage! This is a must for all electric guitar fans!!!!!! END

Summary: Great show
Review: I'm surprised to see some people are down on Steve Vai's performance on this dvd. As far as I'm concerned this is a G4 (with Mike Kenneally). Vai's music is unique and is probably not as melodic or catchy as Satch's or EJ's, but the performance by him and Mike Keneally breathtaking. Esp the attitude song piece is incredible. It's just great to see two great guitarists coming to a harmony like that. (You gotta love Mike Kenneally for his low profile attitude!!!) If you like Zappa, this should get you exciting.

If you like EJ, manhattan on this DVD has to be the best performance by far. The harmoney EJ and Roscoe Beck is creating is just beautiful (despite the fact that some people might complain about mistakes EJ is making.). I've seen EJ's live show with his alient love child band several times, and the song doesn't sound as good as this one.

Satch is well Satch. He has a great sense of melodies, and he plays so great with what he can do. But as usual, that's all i can say about him. It becomes painfully obvious when the three play together for some blues tones. He just doesn't have the musical sense of Vai or EJ to keep up with them. But that's just my opinion.

Regardless any instrumental rock fan would appreciate this. I haven't seen the latest one with Yngwie yet, but i would imagine it's not going to be as good as this one.
