Summary: Awesome concert DVD
Review: I'd never seen a Bruce Springsteen concert until I bought this DVD. I've owned it for six months now and I put it on to watch or listen to every few days, it's brilliant. The sound and picture quality are FLAWLESS, none of my other concert DVDs even come close.

Yes the setlist is out of order but this is the only Bruce concert DVD available and it's a damn fine first release. Hopefully the Rising tour will be equally well recorded when it is released some time in the future.

Buy it!!

Summary: a glimpse of how great bruce can be...
Review: i'm giving this dvd 5 stars because of disc 2 and specifically "lost in the flood"....and to think he's now writing songs about firemen..what a shame

Summary: very close to being there
Review: i have been purchasing a lot of music dvd's but this one is the best so far. The sound is fantastic, on a good system it's like being there and I love the photography in particular the close ups. I went to see the this band during their "the Rising" tour, an unforgettable experience and this DVD brings it back to my living room. These guys are inspirational, ican't think of any other act that offers a performance more energetic than this, it's all genuine too, these guys are really enjoying themselves.
Bruce is definitely THE BOSS and the E Street band are amazing.
Highlights are Mansion on the Hill, Thunder Road and the final song: If I should Fall Behind, where various members of the band get to sing a part of the song; Clarence Clemons stands out with great saxophone playing and singing. This DVD offers great value as well, 2 discs with lots of songs, well worth buying!!

Summary: Hum-m-m-m-m
Review: I just can't force myself to become a Springsteen fan. I've really tried, but he comes across as a Bob Seger wanna' be.

Summary: There's good rockin tonight
Review: Bruce & the E Street Band continue to lay claim to the mantle of the greatest rock and roll band and show (sorry Mick). A brilliantly calculated mixture of old and new, energizing rock, soft ballads, Bruce contols a mastery of his audience's emotions like no other performer. "Live from New York City" does an excellent job of featuring the entire band, who together make the whole much greater than the sum of the parts.

My only criticism is I want more. Three hours goes too quickly. Give me a full version of 'Back in Your Arms' and I will shut up. Anyone who could possbile rate this less than a 5 is simply out of their mind.

Summary: Not the REAL!! Bruce
Review: Side one was Fabulous!!,but side two
except for "The Promise" was a big
dissapointment. Born in the USA and
Thunder Road were done in a sleepwalk
no moving or life at all. The songs were made
popular the way the original was done, not
some new slow crawling version

Summary: A LIVE PERFORMANCE TO NEVER BE FORGOTTEN...
Review: it still sends thrills upon my spine when I watch this DVD... It's simply marevellous.

Summary: The Boss and the Band, Live and Kicking
Review: This is the DVD that turned me into a raving Springsteen fan. I was familiar with most of his hits, but unfamiliar with his stage performances and his overall approach to what he calls "the ministry of Rock and Roll". Having seen the HBO special, I had no choice but to get the expanded DVD.
What a show! THis guy is 50 years old? The energy and passion he displays outshines most performers half his age. HIs band introductions during the song "10th Avenue Freezeout" were even entertaining. The Boss was in great voice, the band played brilliantly, and they managed to make a "connection" with the audience throughout the show.
If you've never seen the Boss live, this is your chance.

Summary: Uau!
Review: FAntastic performance. Man, you can see the band is clearly enjoying themselves, otherwise they should win the OScar! Drummer Max Weinberg's enthusiasm is breathtaking.

I'm still catching my breath after watching this marvellous double DVD. The Boss's voice still is strong and emotional, even at 52. VAn Zandt is charismatic. Nils adds a lot to the band.
How can a band put out such an emotional performance night after night on tour is something incredible. Yes, tehy're being paid for that, but that's not the point. THey could get the job done without sweating so much and nobody would notice it.

I have only two negative comments: the version of THE RIVER is too much watered down, too much sugar, too much slow. I hated it. Secondly, The Boss really does not know how to play a guitar solo. Horrible ones he did here.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: OVer the top performance. Annoying
Review: The Boss exagerated here... trying to showcase his great energy, he sometimes even forgot to sing, and just SHOUTED the whole song.. Annoying...
