Summary: The best EC ever.
Review: This is hands down the best performance I have ever seen on TV, Tape or DVD. The freeview on DirectTV just made me crazy to buy the DVD. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I think it is almost worn out. There are not enough adjectives to express how great a a buy this is and I think a must for any music fan. This thing starts out great and just gets better and better with each cut.
FANTASTIC !!!

Summary: Clapton has become a Pop singer.
Review: This is not a concert DVD of Clapton that we knew and loved. His performance is uninspiring, lacking fire, and monotonous. I'm especially disappointed by his guitar work. First, the tone he gets from his new Strat has to be the most terrible Strat tone ever recorded; thin, lifeless, shrill, and totally boring. Sure, Eric hasn't outdone his magic Gibson tone since he switched to the Strat, but he got decent Strat tones before (check out "24 Nights" or "Live in Hyde Park"). Is it maybe because of his new rainbow Strat? He used the same Strat in Conert for New York after 9/11, and the tone was simply terrible. Second, Eric doesn't have the same "fire" as he once showed when soloing. The solos in this DVD are just mindless noodling of simple pentatonic scales. No emotion, no melody, no phrasing....just boring scale practice. After blown away by his performance in "Live in Hyde Park", I expected the same in this DVD. I wanted to see Clapton as a musician/guitarist. All I saw in this DVD was, however, Clapton as a pop singer.

Summary: One More DTS DVD!
Review: This is the best sounding live concert DVD I have ever heard. The DTS mix is spot on. I don't think it could have been done better except for boosting the volume on the drums slightly. Incredible. Great show put on by Eric and the boys. A little, unplugged, a little blues, a little rock and roll and a lot of Eric. I deducted one star for the spotty video quality here and there. Some cameras and angles are always in focus with the right light level, others are sometimes out of focus and a tad grainy. Still probably the best I have yet seen on DVD. If this is ever broadcast in HD and done correctly (not on FOX) it will be spectacular. 480p does not do it justice.

Summary: Clapton at His Peak
Review: This show recorded at the Staples Center in Los Angeles cptured Eric Clapton at his musical peak during the 1999 tour in support of Reptile. The concert features one of the best bands Clapton ever assembled. It includes Billy Preston and David Sancious on keyboards and long time band members Nathan East (bass), Steve Gadd (drums) and Andy Fairweather Low (guitar).

The set was extremely laid back and included music from throughout Clapton's thirty plus years of recording experience. Highlights include an acoustic opening with Key to the Highway and Bell Bottom Blues as well as the jazz flavored Reptile. A bluesy middle features She's Gone, River of Tears, and Hootchie Cootchie Man. The set ends with the classics Layla and Sunshine of Your Love.

If you're a Clapton fan check it out.

Summary: Brilliant reproduction of the live show - Must have it
Review: To start with - Ignore the review titled:
"Lethargic performance, no electricity, November 29, 2002
Reviewer: A viewer from Los Angeles, CA United States "

That person thought it was a fireworks show and he/she was disappointed.

This DVD is technically brilliant with clear picture and amazing sound. The live show is recorded with great detail and mutiple sound options. Clapton sings/performs both his new and old songs. His live shows are such a joy to attend. The way he drifts from intro into a familiar song is very exciting. His support crew does an excellent job. In my opinion, this DVD is far superior when compared to "Live in Hyde Park" in both quality (sound and video) and quantity (20 songs!).

Summary: Lose yourself in it
Review: You should buy this DVD. Stop trying to decide, just click the button and buy it, you will not be sorry. There are simply too many wonderful songs. You get a chance to hear them and to see EC play his guitar at the same time, so what more do you want? Got You On My Mind, Father's Eyes, River of Tears, Have You Ever Loved A Woman, She's Gone, Sunshine of Your Love, Cocaine, they'll all superb and it's a joy to sit and watch Eric and the band play. Billy Preston deserves a serious pat on the back for his work on the Hammond organ (you have **GOT** to see/hear Billy in action) and the rest of the band are excellent. C'mon, it's only a few bucks and you'll get endless pleasure from it - BUY IT!!!

Summary: Awesome LIVE event!
Review: You will feel like you are center stage at the Staples Center!
DTS sound is incredible, really highlights my system.
Billy Preston on keyboards is a treat too, this band with Eric is tight! I am very pleased with this purchase.
