Summary: the best ever!
Review: The music is fabulous. The other star performers let Roy have the spotlight and it is truly a wonderful show to see. Having been filmed in black and white also gives the show a nostalgic feel--like you are back in the "old days". A must for every Orbison fan.

Summary: My Very First DVD was Roy Orbison's Black and White
Review: A few nights before Xmas '99, my husband and I caught this concert on PBS. I loved it, and knew that I wanted to hear it again. They were offering it for sale on VHS. My husband discouraged me from buying it because he had purchased a DVD player for me as an Xmas gift as a surprise. When I received the DVD player and it was ready to go, I ran out the store in search of something to play. I lucked out and found this concert! I cannot tell you how phenominal it is to hear and see all of the great artists on this DVD. We have even played it as "background" when entertaining guests only to all become completely wrapped up in it! If you are a Roy Orbison fan, you must own this. It is something you will never hear too much of.

Summary: Get out your Sharpie and mark this one "Do Not Lend!"
Review: Hi there, fellow one-click addicts. If you're really serious about building a music-DVD collection of significance, you will enhance it with this offering from the Orbison estate. It captures the magic of Roy Orbison's private concert at the Coconut Grove twelve years ago... with a perfect recipe of world-class talent, digital technology and loving production touches.

This DVD belongs in your private vault with the likes of Clapton's Unplugged... and pray that commercial success will tempt the industry to capture still more such classic evenings in music history.

Summary: Best Music Video I own
Review: I bought this in VHS when it first came out. Have played for everyone who came by and even those who were skeptical that they would like Roy Orbison are soon glued to the set. Great sound quality, spectacular editing, and a great performer. And what a backup ensemble.

Summary: ROY ORBISON, A BLACK AND WHITE NIGHT
Review: A TRULY MAGNIFICENT CONCERT. THE SOUND QUALITY OF THE DVD WITH DTS IS BEAUTIFUL. IF YOU'RE A ROY ORBISON FAN, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS.

Summary: Compare to the Laserdisc
Review: Please try to compare this version with the previously issued Laserdisc and you will find this new DVD has been overdubbed on the drum sections and the guitar sections featuring Bruce S. have been toned down to lose their vitality. If you have not owned and listened to earlier versions, pls do so before this purchase.

Summary: Roy Orbison Black and White Night DVD
Review: Absolutely fabulous. Terrific surround sound, although the DTS wouldn't work, the 5.1 sure did! Content was the best, too. Well worth the premium price over VHS.

Summary: Roy Orbison Black&White
Review: One of the best concert video. The sound quality is terrific. Better than any of the music only Roy Orbison CDs you can find. Stangely the Dolby Digital sound track seem to sound better than the DTS one. You can hear the difference especially in the main vocal part.

Summary: Magic
Review: A stunning moment where artists appear honored to be on the same stage with Orbison and all seem to be basking in his glow. Heartfelt. Goosebumps all around. My prescription: watch weekly as needed...
