Summary: Excellent Britney DVD!
Review: "Time Out With Britney" is Britney Spears's first homevideo and definitely a must have for all Britney fans. The DVD includes an interview with Britney on how she started singing, how she became a Mousketeer ("The New Mickey Mouse Club"), etc. You also get the full-length version music videos for "(You Drive Me) Crazy" (the 'STOP' Remix), "...Baby One More Time", and "Sometimes". You also get exclusive behind-the-sceens look at the making of the music videos plus an extended behind-the-sceens look at the making of the "Sometimes" music video. But that's not all! You'll also get the Disney Channel concert special with Britney performing and you'll meet a lot of the people who work with Britney including her choreographer and other people like that. Also added with this DVD is a cassette sampler with the 'STOP' Remix for "(You Drive Me) Crazy" song plus some samples from other artists as well. "Time Out With Britney" is exactly what any Britney fan would want and definitely a must-have Britney item!

Summary: This is a good buy!
Review: I am a big Britney fan! I bought this tape because it said it interviewed Britney Spears and had music videos! Well, if you watched the horrible "unauthorized" "Star Baby Scrapbook," you're in for a huge treat! In fact, almost the whole thing is Britney interviews. She tells us about her interesting life, from when she was little to the current. It has lots of Behind-the-Scenes, Making-the-Video backstage stuff. It has her first three videos: "...Baby One More Time," "You Drive Me Crazy," and "Sometimes." A great thing worth buying. I think the VHS has a Jive 2k sampler cassete that has Britney "Ypu Drive Me Crazy," Steps "Tradgedy," Aaron Carter "Girl You Shine" (ugh!) and another song too.

Summary: Time out !
Review: Sadly, the cover of the DVD itself says it all : what could have been a-potential-realised has been overshadowed by media gimmicks of the sexuality-sells type; I'm refering to her shorts' waist being folded down to show what is apparently her innerwear - totally unneccessary, and dissuades afficionadoes from taking her seriously.

She had started out as a fresh-faced teen sensation with "baby one more time" but sadly went on to be one of the "me-too" sexy-vixens as is obvious in the latest video "Stronger" ; navel-ring et al .

As for the DVD, the contents do not disappoint the Britney fans ( yours truly being one of them ) though I'd have liked her Sometimes-Live in Disney World version being included.

Unfortunately, the DVD doesn't score too well on the technical front. The video quality is that of a new VHS tape and the Dolby Digital 5.1 sounds like a hastily put together after thought; you're better off in the 2-channel stereo mode. There's some ghost images in the video, and the "whites" glares and seems too intense at time ; as in the "Drive Me Crazy" video. The Surround channels are annoying in the 5.1 audio version and it's obvious that they had simply employed an audio filter to extract the track for the surround channels.

Conclusion : Dolby Digital 5.1 is horrible - 1.0 out of 5.0. Dolby Digital 2.0 is good - 3.5 out of 5.0 Picture quality is 3.0 out of 5.0 . Content of the DVD is 4.5 out of 5.0

Summary: Pain and Retribution
Review: On my way home one evening, I chanced upon a popular video store. Seeing how I had nothing much to do the rest of that very chilly October evening, I asked myself the following, "Should I walk in or should I not?" The next few minutes found me standing in front of the video store pondering the question. After deciding in the affirmative, I walked through the glass doors and into the glowing lights of the interior of the video palace. On the walls to my immediate right were housed what must have been thousands upon thousands of video games. On my immediate left were a bunch of gruff, rather mean looking video store workers who looked like the sort who, if working in a sandwich shop, would spit in your tuna fish on rye before giving it to you. Oh, but reader, I found myself strangely exhilirated by the amount of videos that I saw in front of me. My goodness! Were they many and plentiful! Videos of all shapes and sizes, from the good to the bad, from the tasteful to the pornographic, from the delightfully gay (meaning "happy") to the barfingly tragic. All in all, I tell you reader, it was a feast for my eyes. Then, right out of nowhere, reader, I chanced upon what amounted to an amazement of epic proportions.

Now, you are probably asking yourselves, "What, pretell, could that be?"

Reader, it was none other than Britney Spears's video, Time Out. Now, upon immediate perusal of the front cover, I must admit it is quite difficult for the average 20-year-old male to resist the nubile pose of the pop singer with the great endowment in the front chest area. Needless to say, I stood there in amazement. The amazement then turned into a curiosity, and I decided to purchase the videoed wonder, half surprised that they had not all been purchased all ready, and half embarrassed that someone I knew could be observing me in my diabolically delicious move to purchase what in effect was a kiddie pop music video.

Reader, my heart was racing with excitement.

When I got home, my roommate asked me, "Hey, JohnnyRogue, what's in the bag?" I then proceeded to tell him that I had just purchased the latest Britney Spears video. He looked at me with a shocked look on his face. "Judas!" He screamed. "How dare you bring such abhorrent muck into my abode!" His exclamation rang through my ears like a thousand dingbats in heat. "But, Mortimer," I replied. "I purchased this for you. It is your birthday tomorrow, after all, ol' chum." He looked on suddenly, as though, with tear-filled eyes, he wanted to hug me. It was if, up to that point in his life, reader, his 21 years as a living soul had reached a summing up point of fulfillment and surprise. "JohnnyRogue, I love you," he suddenly declared. Naturally, to my amazement, I took to this declaration of love with both pity and flattery. Who could not feel flattered by a declaration of love by anyone? But then again, I am not a homosexual. "I'm sorry, Mortimer, but I'm already in love with another. And she's a woman." Mortimer, with a look of terror that tore at the very fibre of his soul, wept as though a hundred heart-broken doves had flown through a tempest of pain, vowing never to return to this world unscathed by the torrents and the measures of winged horror. Oh, reader, the torment that ravaged through my heart!

Mortimer stormed out.

After an hour of standing there in shock, I decided to myself to sit down and at least watch this video, in the hopes that it would raise my spirits. In fact, upon watching this video, reader, I can tell you that it indeed did. Time Out With Britney Spears is a triumph. The only reason why I give it one star is because it pains me even to write about it, given the horrible personal history associated with it in my memory. To give it more than one star, reader, would be an acknowledgement of all the pangs of guilt and feelings of retribution that are alive and swelling inside my very heart. Oh, reader, what is a person to do?

Summary: What's worse than Britney music?
Review: The actual Britney! This video is horrible, and it really shows how talentless she truly is. She is an awful person with a fake persona who I'd never like to meet. Genie Gets Her Wish by Christina Aguilera is so much better than this worthless piece of hooha.

Summary: This is really great!
Review: I really did not like Britney Spears much, and all I heard and saw of her was her videos, songs, and outfits! But this video takes you behind the scenes and you get to know the REAL Britney...not the radio or the MTV Britney. She is so nice and I am so glad that Britney Spears has found another fan...me!
