Summary: This one was really good
Review: As a true fan of the Muppets I was thrilled to get this tape! Every guest was great, and Julie Andrews still rules! The best episode out on tape the only thing I didn't care for was the last number, a little cheesy, but other than that wonderful! I also found I truly loved Elton John's music from this. This is one I plan to watch over again.

Review: How fabulous is this collection? When I brought "The Muppet Movie" DVD to home to my 2-year-old, who watches this disc religiously, her question upon inspecting the cover was, "Where Elton John?" Judging from the hippy-dippy look in Elton's eyes, he's somewhere between Saturn and Jupiter during most of this taping, but who cares? This DVD is worth it for the Elton episode alone (how many other half-hour shows have you seen him on where he actually sings?). The Gene Kelly show is sweet, too. Buy it for you, say it's for your kid, and turn "Crocodile Rock" up REAL loud. La, la, la, la, laaaaaa...

Summary: Elton John
Review: the first muppet show episode i ever saw was the elton john episode, and it is well worth the price of the DVD. Though it is somewhat fused in my memory with the episode with melissa manchester, the musical acts of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Ms Piggy, "Crocodile Rock" With assorted muppet crocodiles "Bennie and the Jets" with the cast and "Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" are incredible. the other acts i remember, and i apologize for any mistakes i make, include the musical number of "tumbling tumbleweeds", the flying zucchini brothers, and pigs in space

well worth the money, and worth your time, even if only for the elton john episode

Summary: Classic Muppets
Review: The muppets are great! If you agree, you'll like this DVD. Each of these three episodes had great gags, and all of the key muppets of the era are humorously involved (Though Fozzie gets less attention than the others). The only thing keeping me from giving this a full five stars were a few odd unfunny skits (I don't care for the Jug Band) and a laughtrack which I felt was sometimes distracting. On the plus side, three entire episodes are included, and each has a brief introduction by Brian Henson. Though not perfect, this muppet release has some great moments. My favorites were: Sam the Eagle's editorial, Gonzo playing "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" on the bagpipes, and the always popular Pigs in Space.

Summary: Good content, but disappointing
Review: This DVD includes 3 episodes of "The Muppet Show." I have always loved the Muppets, and it is good to see this great show get DVD treatment. While the content is fun and entertaining, it is minimal. There are very little special features. While the features provide a few small laughs, they don't really have much to do with the episodes themselves. And there are only three episodes. I call that [very costly]. I don't care for "Best of" sets in the first place (I prefer Season Sets), but they could at least included more material. They could easily fit 5 to 6 episodes on one disc, especially considering the absense of a lot of bonus features.

Overall, it's an enjoyable disc but it doesn't quite satisfy me. Buy it only if you can get it for a bargain price.

Summary: This is truly the Best of the Muppet Show!
Review: This video was released in a set of videos over a year ago. I purchased the set which includes twelve videos. This video is one of my son's favorites. It contains Elton John, Julie Andrews and Gene Kelly in 3 Full-Length Shows!

Elton John takes center stage with outrageous costumes and performs his greatest hits, including "Crocodile Rock" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," as a duet with with Miss Piggy.

Julie Andrews yodels, sings "When You Were A Tadpole (and I was a fish)" to Kermit, and whisles a happy tune in the company of monsters.

Gene Kelly gives Kermit a dance lesson, performs a romantic duet with Miss Piggy and tries his hardest to avoid doing "Singing In The Rain" because he's done it too many times.

I highly recomend this video if you have a child under 5 or any age for that matter.
