Summary: A Terrific Film
Review: This was a terrific film, an informative and enjoyable look at Madonna on tour, behind the scenes. The concerts she performed required a lot of work, management and coordination, and it was fascinating to see parts of the process.

A lot of people castigate Madonna for her lifestyle, but we all need to keep a few things in mind: No law requires people to buy concert tickets or CDs from Madonna, but that's certainly not the case for public school districts, which merely arrange to tax citizens for whatever they want. There are no laws prohibiting anyone from competing with Madonna, but that's certainly not the case for our magnificent U.S. Postal Service. Madonna will always be funding her own retirement and health benefits programs -- but that's certainly not the case for our Senators/Representatives in Washington, who have bestowed lavish benefits upon themselves with money simply confiscated from taxpayers.

Madonna is a fine artist, along with being a successful free-market capitalist competitor. She has built a fortune for herself by pleasing others, and not causing any problems for anyone else. The truth is, all of us should dare to emulate the personal passion whish has fueled her success.

Summary: In Bed with Madonna....
Review: ...was the European release title. But since I've never been very much impressed by her as a 'singer',and because I've been very much impressed by her (lack of) talent as an actress (I've seen only some trailers and it was more than I could stand), I dare to say the truth: I will be very happy not to see her in bed, and to leave her to all who appreciate provocative vulgarity...and I'm very far of beeing prudish.

Summary: Very good
Review: I've seen the Girlie Show which I thought was spectacular but as a behind the scenes look this was okay too. Though I think that it skirts the insight of her as a businesswoman, teh labogorious meetings, teh lawyers, the accountants, the business structuring and also very limited access to her home. This also needed a reporter of some kind asking her definitive questions, a shadow reporter if you will.
Though the freestyle works of sometimes simply being a fly on the wall, there seems to be some shielding to who she is. Which is troublesome on one level and applaudable on another. We shouldn't have TOTAL access to her life, she deserves privacy as we all do, even if she has chosen the public spotlight. But at the same time what is her goal here?
Did I get to know Madonna better? Somewhat but there's so much flurry around her that often times its hard to see if she's orchestrator or along for the ride or perhaps some days there is no difference.?
She's interesting, yes. But at the same time strident and I don't think thats because she's a strident person but because there is so much for her attention to manage. And at the same time 99% of the people around her are on her payroll or subject to her whims. It puts her in a position where for her artistic vision she may want to get her own way and at the same time she has to constantly war with the maturity of listening to others and deferring. It must be a hard balancing act to maintain control and flexibility when the whole show is YOU.
Admirable.

Summary: Madonna's finest work
Review: There's nothing better in all of Madonna-land than this documentary/concert film. Some may say the scenes are contrived at times, but I challenge you to find any celebrity (or human being) who wouldn't put on some sort of show when a camera is pointed at them. And by the end of the movie, it is obvious that Madonna is every bit the persona she puts forth. The biggest surprise to many may be the amount of work she truly does to entertain. Her shows and tour are exhausting to watch- I can't imagine the physical demands it must take doing it every night.

Also, as a gay man growing up in the midwest, seeing this movie was my first 'exposure' to other gay men. At 12 years of age my only impression of gay men and women were the skewed stories of hatred that poured forth from my church and teachers. Watching Madonna's gay male dancers form a family, love, hate, play, perform and LIVE, I felt less alone. I learned that there was a world beyond my conservative religious home. This movie suddenly opened up a world of possibilities for me. How many other music divas have done that for their fans? Madonna is in a class all her own, and I owe much of my pride to her and to Truth or Dare!

Summary: Truth Or Dare
Review: This documentary is Xcellent. I know this hd 2 B N idea from Madonna because I know her creativity. This documentary give us a look at Madonna of what she is like while off-stage during her Blond Ambition Tour (her first best tour).

There was on thing Madonna had said and what she said is what I totally agree with. While getting ready 2 perform a concert in Toranto, Madonna was informed by her younger brother Chris (who was part of the stage crew) that the police were outside the arena and they had said that there were 2 arrest Madonna if she even as much as put one finger toward her crotch. Madonna's exact words 2 her road manager were: "What's there 2 work out? I M N artist and this is how I choose 2 express myself" and she couldn't B more right. She has total freedom in how she performs. It's not the parents say, it's not the press' say, it's not the police's say, and it's not the media's say. It is her say. She has the right to express herself sexually. She used it 2 get her fans attention.

Summary: Madonna ... she is just an ordinary person....(???)
Review: This film, which shows Madonna¡¯s frank story about her life and splendid concert scenes, became an issue when it was released, because of some suggestive scenes. However, when I have seen this film, it is not a problem that it is just her candid attitude for music and her life. Sometimes, I thought that her frankness is going too much, but that is only her personality. This film can be approved as a documentary film in spite of a little lasciviousness. First of all, this film was made, concert scenes filmed with a color, and out of stage, interview scenes filmed with a black and white. I was very impressed by her concerts; it was pretty amazing and excellent. She is not a singer who just shows sexy body, has a passionate stage manner, splendid dancing and outstanding singing ability. She deserves to be famous as a singer. Generally, a pop singer who pays attention to show sexy body or dance, usually do not have a good singing ability. But, Madonna always has an impassioned live concert. In addition, she has a firm faith about her own music. As I see these scenes, I have realized that I had a prejudice about her. She talks frankly and straightly that is her one of charm. Anyway, this film made room to think about her further. It is one of good documentary about pop star.

Summary: The Uninhibited Truth
Review: This documentary is a personal look into Madonna's private life, thoughts, and dilemmas behind the scenes. It has clips from the "Blonde Ambition Tour" and black & white footage of her interacting with the crew, dancers, family members & back-up singers. Madonna handles the pressures of technical difficulty, bad weather, moral issues & undeserving fans in the front seats with a funny but sure attitude. You see glimpses of her nature to be like a mother to her fellow dancers as she hugs each & helps them with their dilemmas. You meet her dad, brother, Warren Beatty, & Sandra Bernard. You see a more emotional Madonna when she is talking about her mother's tragic death, and when she cries at her last NY concert that was dedicated to her friend who died of AIDS. She loves people and the stage is her passion. She is a natural, a Marilyn Monroe of this generation! "See the truth, Madonna dares you."

Summary: Diary of a misunderstood woman
Review: "I liked her tremendously. She is a maverick. She is going to get what she wants and to [heck] with you. She only puts on stage what most women hide in their deepest thoughts. And, no, it may not be respectable . . . name me one artist who wants to be respectable."

With these words, legendary modern dance choreographer Martha Graham summed up Madonna and captured her spirit perfectly. She IS going to get what she wants, and to hell with your - however accurate - opinion that with this movie she climbed to the top of Mt. Egomania.

What a hideous woman! Cones on her breasts, grabbing her crotch, swallowing a bottle. What does it all mean? That she is doing what she wants because she wants to and before you decipher the meaning she is doing the next thing. Is this the real Madonna or is it staged? The real Madonna IS staged. She wants to make life interesting and keep you guessing.

This video is a lot of fun and terribly self-indulgent. Should Madonna be shamed for enjoying life and saying you should too? Is she to be castigated for being fascinated with herself? She's not a great technical singer, not quite an inventive song writer, at times a clumsy dancer, but she has one thing that those who are do not have: Madonna! If you like Madonna, you will like this film because this is a film of Madonna doing what you do: liking Madonna.
