Summary: Fun, Fun Movie
Review: Considered now by many as a cult classic, "Spice World," marks the feature-film debut of Britain's most famous band since the Beatles. Directed by television veteran Bob Spiers ("Ab Fab"), the movie focuses on the girls during a few days in their hectic life, as they prepare for their big gig at Royal Albet Hall in London.

The movie's camp factor helps in boosting the film's appeal with teenagers and pop-culture fans, and although the acting is not that great, the film gives us many hilarious scenarios including a Mission Impossible-based fantasy called "Spice Force 5," and an enjoyable photo shoot where the girls imitate major pop icons of the past and themselves.

The songs from the band's first two albums provide the film's soundtrack with a diverse selection of tunes that keeps the film together. I only wished that producers released a compilation album of the band's songs that were remixed for this film ("Who do You Think You Are" sounds wicked in a techno beat).

The film's other highlight includes multiple cameo appearances by such personalities as Sir Elton John, Bob Geldof, Meatloaf, Bob Hoskins, Roger Moore, George Wendt, and one of the actress from the "Ab Fab" series. All give wonderful comic performances.

The film's worst scene involves the girls' encounter with aliens during a midnight hike in the woods. Personally, this scene seems out-of-place in such a film. Richard E. Grant is great as the girls' manager, and the film's subplot of a tabloid thrasher going after the girls makes it much more fun to watch.

Reminiscent of a "Hard Day's Night," Spice World will garner more new fans throughout the year as the film is aired on television and at midnight-movie festivals. If you want a fun, fun movie, wthen this is it!

Summary: Very amusing!
Review: Like most other Spice Girls fans of the time, I saw this at the movies. I was only 11. I'm 16 now, and I still like to watch this film from time to time. I still have a laugh at some of the scenes, and I've seen it so many times I can recite the lines along with the girls!
I look at the bad reviews of the movie, and wonder how many people have actually WATCHED the movie? Did they just give it one star because they hate the Spice Girls? I think that was probably the case for most reviewers. Congratulations to the people who gave it 4 or 5 star reviews - you're not ashamed to admit you liked the movie! I also liked it. The Spice Girls may not be popular anymore or what you'd call the latest thing, but they were a fantastic girl band. I bet nearly everyone had at least one song they liked from the girls.
But anyway, onto the movie itself. It's damn hilarious! I don't know how so many people didn't think it was funny! I think it's amusing now, and it's been 6 years since it came out in the theatres. The storyline is a bit thin, I have to admit, but the jokes are funny, not cheesy. I especially like the bit where Geri and Mel B are playing chess and Mel B doesn't understand the rules and Geri says she's gonna slap her. Also another funny bit is the part where Victoria says she doesn't know what to wear, and Mel C muses over whether Victoria should wear the "little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress OR the little Gucci dress" as Mel C says. Then Emma chimes in "I think you should wear the little Gucci dress!". I like the part near the end where the two movie directors are telling the story to Clifford and everything is happening to the girls.
The cheesy parts of the movie include the aliens and the part on the boat. The most dramatic part of the film is the bit where the Spice Girls are having a fight with Clifford and they all storm off.
The movie begins with a Top Of The Pops version of "Too Much" and ends with a fantastic performance of "Spice Up Your Life". The rest of the Spiceworld album is played during the movie.
My favourite Spice Girl is Emma, and she had some funny lines during the movie.
Overall, Spiceworld is a funny movie that doesn't deserve all the negative reviews.

Review: Spice Girls are one of those groups that even if you're a hardcore rocker you HAVE to love it. I enjoyed this album very much. It's fun to listen to. Spice Girls never fail to produce wonderful pop/dance music to listen to when you want to just relax in your room or with a couple of friends. A GREAT cd to do karoake to as well. Favourites- 'Denying', 'Viva Forever', 'Too Much' and 'Do It'

Summary: A Hard Day's Spice
Review: Another "pop phenomenon" that was crushed by the weight of the media, over exposure, being pre-fabricated, and not being able to sustain a creative drive. The Spice Girls decided to make a movie at the height of their success and it was down hill from there. SPICE WORLD supposedly pays homage to A HARD DAY'S NIGHT as each member of the quintent have somewhat individual personalities (at least in their distinct names..Posh,Scary,Baby,Ginger,and Sporty). The movie tries to be a comedy as the girls poke fun at themselves and at the pop scene as they go from rehearsals, photo shoots, and press conferences etc. with a little help from some friends (cameos from Elton John, Bob Hoskins, and Elvis Costello). There is some fun in all of this. However, of course, this movie is not innovative and the Spice Girls music is not very memorable. In the end of all this, do we really know these girls as individuals? Do we want to see more, want to know more, about the group and do we care? Apparently not.

Summary: The kung-fu fighting dancing queens spice up your lives
Review: Hell, I already praised a Britney album, so this next step is only natural.

Besides, who can deny that the once fearsome-fivesome (quintet?) are probably the most undoubtedly fun group ever to come roaring out of the 90's?

...Anyone?

Okay, then. But back on track - pure sugary confectionary pop perfection all for us. Woohoo! Fast-paced furious latin-vibing Spice Up Your Life (built around a dancey piano line and godknows what else), the calming, watery, crammed-to-bursting-with-pretty-strings Motown vibes of Too Much (The Supreme Spices? Hmm...), the slinky sexy TLC-esque 90's R&B of Denying, the chilling Latin-tinged (there's that phrase again) ballad Viva Forever...

And the rest of the good stuff: The loud, energetic Pepsi anthem Move Over, the jazzy loungey ender built around a swingin' bunch-o-brass (The Lady Is A Vamp), and my personal favorite:

Stop. Frighteningly perky and sunny. And brassy - horns out the wazoo. Cheesy claptrack, check. Beeps, check. But good lord I love it. Anyone up for being in a good mood?

Then enter Spice World, and please check to make sure you are not allergic to any of the following:

Ginger
Posh people
Sporty people
Scary people
Babies

Enjoy.

Summary: One Giant Music Video!
Review: This is such a great movie. Talk about guilty pleasure! It's one of those "feel-good" movies that makes you laugh any time you watch it and puts you in a happy mood. It follows the girls as they prepare for a big gig (no pun intended) at Albert Hall. The band even experiences a fictional, yet scarily ironic, break up part way through the movie. They work it out... but don't we wish that the same thing could've happened with the real-life break up. This movie makes you feel like you are with the girls and makes you wish you really were! Of course, Emma "Baby" Bunton steals the show with her charming good looks and always loveable personality. (P.S. Emma, feel free to visit me whenever you want! I'd love to meet you!) This is a must have for any fan of the Spice Girls or anyone who is into fun - loving movies. Also check out the Spice Girls' CDs "Spice" and "Spice World", they are awesome. But pass up "Forever" which lost the girls about 7 million fans here in the U.S. This is definitely a movie that I would recommend (FINALLY, I spell it right!) to anyone! You won't regret this purchase... at least rent it! Enjoy!

Summary: A Great And Underrated Pop Album!
Review: After their #1 hit album "Spice" (which was also the #1 album of 1997), the Spice Girls released "Spiceworld." Although it wasn't as successful as their first, I think it's better. The album starts off with the fantastic dance tune "Spice Up Your Life" with its infamous chorus, it's instantly recognizable. "Stop" is infectious and musucally, it's very well put together. "Too Much" is slow and sexy with great vocals by the girls. I also love "Viva Forever" which is a gorgeous ballad and also the closing "The Lady Is A Vamp" which has a 40's big-band style to it and is catchy as hell. So, even though they're long gone now, The Spice Girls left behind some classic pop. To all pop fans out there, be open-minded and give a listen. You might find that you like it!

Summary: Cant they make a cd with more than 10 tracks at least?
Review: For the music part the only good song is Spice up your life.
The rest are out of touch and out of sight. They are to lazy to make a full album of at least 14 tracks or more this sucks.
