Summary: Awesome
Review: I had seen this movie years ago on television and thought it was pretty good. The DVD with the widescreen action, however, is simply awesome. I was amazed by the action scenes, it looked as if people really were in mortal danger. This is simply one of the best war pictures ever.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Historical & Moving
Review: This movie has alot of historical content and, for me, is very moving. Be prepared for lots of emotions: rage and anger, hatred and disgust, sadness and sorrow. This is a very emotionally realistic portrayal of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Pretty Good Stuff!
Review: I'm not a big fan of war films, but this is one of the best. The suspense builds and the attack scene is one of the best staged battle sequences I've ever seen.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great movie about one of the worst days in U.S. history
Review: Tora! Tora! Tora! was historically accurate in every aspect but the death toll. The attack on Pearl Harbor, "A day that will live in infamy" (FDR), cost America 2,400 men. The movie depicted the American government ignoring the many warning signs that were seen. It also depicted the true surprise of the Japanese attack on the American Pacific forces in Pearl Harbor. This is a must for anyone who loves history.

Summary: History in a capsule.
Review: The factual accounts of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor as seen from the perspectives of the opposing sides of the conflict is what makes this movie appealing.

The meticulous planning, the secrecy surrounding the Japanese fleet as it stealthily steam towards its target and the actual execution of the attack are very realistic, not to mention the sound effects that make the viewer feel as if he is right there in the midst of actual combat.

This is World War II history in the Pacific in a capsule.

Summary: STILL GREAT!
Review: This great movie STILL sets the standard for war films. A stunning achievement, this recreation of the attack of Pealt Harbor is rich with irony and what if's, in the top five war movies ever filmed, it is up there on my list of favorites right beside THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY and THE BRIDGES OF TOKO-RI. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best War movies of all time
Review: This is one of the finest historically accurate movies of all times. Very good acting througout. The magnitude of the battles and the complexity of the sets are impressive. Any fan of war movies will certainly appreciate the faithful reproduction of the events leading to the U.S. declaration of war to Japan.

Summary: Documentary Fimmaking At It's Finest!
Review: Forget those "so-called" reviewers who call this movie boring. The entire intent of this film was to make it in a documentary style, with truthful and factual accounts of that fateful day in Pearl Harbor, while also portraying the Japanese, not as mindless killbots, but as soldiers serving their country. Like A Night To Remember and 2001, this film will stand as an immortal testament to the factual account of events in film (Yes I know 2001 isn't even here yet, but you get my point). With THX and a (few) supplement(s) this disc is a must-have!

Summary: This movie is amazing
Review: This movie truely tells the story of Pearl Harbour and all of the events that lead up to slaughter. If possible this book would get 10 stars

Summary: A great docu-drama
Review: This is one of the best movies about WWII that I have seen. Sure, there is a lot of political maneuvering early on in the movie (that's what happened), sure there were lots of alerts that led to nothing (that's the way it happened), and sure there were lots of interservice rivalries about what was the most important thing to do.

If you are looking for a shoot-em up, action adventure where a single hero single-handedly saves the world, then this is NOT the movie for you.

If you are a thoughtful movie watcher with interests in history and the good telling of a major historical event, then this movie IS for you.

I lived in Japan for two years, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the Americans spoke English and that the Japanese spoke Japanese! I don't mind subtitles at all. I also appreciated the attention paid to Japanese culture in the movie -- religious as well as societal.

I also thought that the special effects were quite good, especially considering the fact that this movie was made 29 years ago. The vitage planes and other attention to detail really nail things down for me.

This is a great movie for thoughtful viewers!
