Summary: BAD!
Review: Another anti-war movie. Come on people, how many grunts are actually thinking that stuff in their heads at that time. Woody would of died because of that grenade. The fight is real bad. I could of made a better movie with $1.95.

Summary: LIKE WATCHING PAINT DRY
Review: You leave the theatre feeling a wiser man. THAT'S BECAUSE YOU AGE THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE!!! It's b-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-r-i-n-g-!

Summary: BEST WAR MOVIE EVER MADE!
Review: Truly shows you what war is all about: Endless boredom, followed by few moments of sheer terror, then endless boredom again!

Watch it with your date... ...in a motel!

Summary: BAD FLICK
Review: THIS MOVIE WAS JUST PLAIN BORING! FIRST OF ALL, THE BIG NAME STARS ARE ONLY IN IT FOR NO MORE THAN 1/2 HOUR (ESPECIALLY GEORGE CLOONEY)...AND THERE ARE NO BOMBS OR GUNFIRE FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR. IT SHOULD'VE BEEN RATED NB FOR NO BULLETS. IT WAS JUST PLAIN WACK...NOT EVEN A COMPARISON TO SAVING PRIVATE RYAN! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING THIS BORING PIECE OF GARBAGE. ITS 3 HOURS OF YOUR LIFE YOU'LL NEVER GET BACK!

Summary: Once Was Enough
Review: The Thin Red Line was very disappointing. It's not that good compared to a movie like Das Boot for example. The acting was fine, the battle scenes (of what little there were) were pretty good, and the cinematography was great, but everything else about this movie was quite bland. The movie should have been presented different. The voice-overs and dreamy sequences were irritating and the movie was too long and boring. Watch this at your own risk. Watch Das Boot instead; now that's a great movie.

Summary: One of the worst war movies I have ever seen!!!
Review: One of the worst representations of war and its effects on the human psyche. Those of you who have plenty of time on your hands and enjoy discussing existential themes over coffee should by all means sit back and enjoy this movie. The rest of us would be much better served watching truly epic and moving war films such as SPR and Platoon.

Review: This movie is very boring. Buy Saving Private Ryan instead

Summary: One Of The Greatest Films Ever Made
Review: All I can say about THE THIN RED LINE is this: to all you people who hated the film and claimed how boring it is, "You obviously didn't get it. Watch it again, and this time bring your brain with you." You'll be amazed how a film can challenge you, intellectually.

Summary: Incredible!
Review: I was so awestruck by this movie that I saw it twice and will be watching it again on video. It is a true work of art, which is rare in movies these days. Malick takes you inside the minds and thoughts of the men who fought in WWII, an angle so rarely seen in war movies. It reminds me very much of Apocalypse Now. Both are movies you watch just completely mesmerized and walk away amazed. There are people who won't understand this movie, and it's their loss...perhaps they can find comfort in watching some Chuck Norris or Rambo war flick.

Summary: THE BEST KEEPS GETTING BETTER
Review: I just watched the video again, and just for kicks I read the dialog from the enclosed captions. The voiceovers are the thoughts of different soldiers throughout the film. For instance, the philosophical dialog is attributed to Pvt. Train and not AWOL Pvt. Witt. It is easy to confuse Witt and Train because they both have southern accents. Train is the one who says his stepfather beat him with a block, and who now believes only in dying and the Lord. It should be remembered that this material is based on James Jones who made a career out of defending the little guy, the misfit, and the misunderstood. At any rate, it just keeps getting better every time I watch this movie.
