Summary: An epic,a thrilling war movie;Peter O'Toole rocks the house
Review: One of my favorite movies, "Lawrence of Arabia" (starring my favorite actor, Pete)grabbed the endless attention of even me, a 12 year old. You know, it even caused me to model my hair after that of O'Toole's!

Summary: PERFECTION
Review: Never have I seen a film as well directed as this one. The acting and casting are perfect. I highly recommend Lawrence's book, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. It goes into much greater detail than time allows the film. I rank "Lawrence of Arabia" in my top 6 favorite films along with "The Bridge on the River Kwai"(also directed by David Lean), "A Clockwork Orange", "2001: A Space Odyssey", "The Empire Strikes Back", and "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Not necessarily in that particular order though.

Summary: T.E.Lawrence,the e stands for an epic life.
Review: What a great movie. They dont make them like this anymore.25 years later since I saw it last, liked it even better the second time. The best time to watch is on a cold freezing night when its below zero and the wind is howling and you're tucked in front of a warm fire. O'Toole does an excellent portrayal but kudos must also go to the supporting cast;Jack Hawkins,Alec Guiness,Jose Ferrer;Omar Sharif, bit players all but wonderful charactrisations nonetheless. But their acting must take backstage to the amazing photography and panoramic vistas, the almost tangible shimmering heat on the sand which made one break out in a sweat. My one regret, that the story only touched lightly on Lawrence's sezuality, perhaps because it might distract from the story only David Lean could know. Historians have since raised doubts about his homosexuality but one wonders how the story would have turned out were it made today. Spielberg would have had fun with this one and probably another Oscar.

Summary: Boring!
Review: This movie was so slow I could not finish it. I can not see what critics see in this film or how it made it to be the fifth best on AFI's list. This film has no women at all. Interesting beginning, though.

Summary: A MOVIE WORTHY OF THE WORD EPIC!!
Review: Lawrence of Arabia has to be the greatest movie of all time. I have never seen one since that has been worthy of the full five stars, and I doubt I ever will. The sweeping desert scenes and the brilliant acting by an all-star cast brings out the magic and the mystery surrounding one of the most famous individuals of this century. The only flaw I saw in the movie is that it did not go for long enough! I recommend to anyone that you buy the movie and the soundtrack! My only regret is that I never saw it on the big screen!

Summary: Should be on everyone's top ten soundtrack list
Review: Jarre's music from "Lawrence" to "Witness" to westerns and other epics show that classical music hasn't died, it just changed form. Check out his son, Jean Michel Jarre, who is also considered a national treasure in France.

Summary: Good, not super great though.
Review: This movie had it all, good acting, wicked setting... good story. It just didn't quite draw me in though... I dunno, it was REALLY good, but not the great movie that would warrant 5 stars. The film making was superb, the shots they had were sweet... but like I've said, it just didn't draw me in... I liked it immensely and recommend it to EVERYONE, I just don't think it should be as high as #5 on AFI's list... maybe the high ranking was for effort, because man oh man... shooting in the desert has to be tough.

Summary: Wow
Review: One of those films that I was certain would be boring, but somehow managed to wrap me into the setting and characterization, more effectively than any film I can remember. There is only one scene in the second part that I can really complain about: the "Not going back, nope. Oh, you want me to, ok," although I'm guessing that the main argument was edited out by time constraints. Overall, it is on the best movies i've ever seen list.

Summary: The way movies should be made!
Review: I have watched Lawrence of Arabia several times, and watching it recently brought back so many emotions and memories that I associate with this movie. What sets this movie apart is the chemistry among the actors as well as its setting in the deserts of Wadi Rum. I also love the complex politics of British involvement unfold in the movie, how Lawrence was being used as a pawn by the British to increase their power and influence over the Arabs.

Most of all, I think it's important to watch this movie now, in 1999, in order to better understand the current situation in the Middle East. Most of the "countries" that exist today in the area have emerged because of colonial influences. The movie shows to a certain extent how this happened.

Watch it because it is a movie! the best movie ever!

Summary: Six Stars!
Review: No movie has touched my life in the way that Lawrence has. Yes, they are beautiful men, yes, homosexuals will love that. Those men, however, are dwarfed by the sublime setting of the desert. The colors in this film are exquisite. If you have a decent home-theater you can get close to the feel of the theater. The good thing about home viewing is that the terrain is scaled down and Peter O'Toole's genius really shines through. The cast is perfect, particularly Claude Raines. A life changing event in movie history.
