Review: From the very begining it is action packed. So many now stars, then nobodys, star in this movie, Swayze, Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Jenifer Gray, and many more!. This is a must buy/see movie. Wolverines!

Summary: Am i supposed to take this seriously?
Review: What the hell is this?American patriotism from the 80's.Its badly acted with a bad plot(but nice shootout scenes) and its full of "We are americans even our high-school kids can beat the russian commandos because we are more patriotic and russians are cold-blooded blood thirsty murderers" im sorry to say but i hate this kind of movies.I didn't even like them in the 80's just plain boring BUT if you don't take this seriously but laugh at the over-patriotic message you might like it,its so bad youll love it.

Summary: Movie based on CIA suggested scenario.
Review: Great action movie with plot more believable that modern-day wimp reviewers would have you believe. If you are the kind of person that believes that a free America has a place in the world, it will give you pause. If you are a "new-age globalist," you won't like it. Highly doubtful that you will find it in Ted Turner's personal collection. It does not glorify war or violence, but it does show that each has its place as long as mankind is in charge here.

Summary: Any true American would be moved by this movie.
Review: Small town America becomes the center of WWIII. A group of high school students end up using gorllia warfare tatics to defend the country they all love. It is a very emotional movie that will make you appreciate what you have and what others have given for this country. The plot of an invasion is some what unrealistic, just remember it's a movie and anything is possible.......

Summary: Bad movie made watchable by excellent perfomances
Review: This isn't the greatest movie ever made, but it also isn't the worst (Road To Wellville). Strong performances by Jennifer Grey and Powers Booth make it somewhat enjoyable. The story involves the invasion of the United States by the Soviets and their allies. Even though an invasion wasn't likely to ever happen, the movie did cause me to think about what I would do if something like that did occur. Of course, if another country tried to invade us, at least we have plenty of guns to defend ourselves. The same cannot be said of other counrties. Funniest scene to watch for: towards the end, when Patrick Swayze is holding a dying Charlie Sheen, watch for snot to come flying out of Patrick's nose. A little childish, but worthy of a rewind none the less.

Summary: Either a comedy or a cold-war delirium
Review: Well, when this movie was first shown in the Soviet Union some people died from heart attacks, caused by heavy laughter. It was really hard to believe that anyone could take it seriously. Besides from obvious technical inacurracies (they were numerous, but it is not that important), the main idea (Soviet invasion) was totally unacceptable for russians. After watching this movie and realizing that it was meant to be a serious patriotic drama, most of the russians concluded that from the west they were viewed not like "normal peole with slightly different ideology, culture and picture of the world" (typical russian-soviet view of an average american), but as bloodthirsty agressive savages, which should be eliminated. Personnaly for me this movie showed me, how does a climax of paranoia, xenophobia, false patrotism and propaganda look like. On the othet hand, I never expected anything better from John Milius, knowing his ultra-right (even nazi-like) attitude and his previous works. Anyone, willing to see a good depiction of war should watch "Saving Private Ryan" or "Platoon". Those, interested in cold war theme better watch something classic, like "Dr. Strangelove..." or "The Day After" or "Dead Man's Letters". Those, who admire this movie SHOULD NOT watch "Hot Shots" - they'll take it too seriously

Summary: Appeals mostly to the uneducated.
Review: "Red Dawn" is the sort of movie one would expect to come from the Cold War: it's full of tired cliches against possibilities that never came to fruition. The plot (Cuban-Nicarguan/Russian forces magically enter the US and "split it up the middle," fight with some "red-blooded Americans" in West Chipeepee. The acting is as bad as the plot. If you are afraid of the "Reds," belong to the NRA, and belong to a white supremacist group, this movie is for you.

Summary: Americans VS Commies
Review: This flick is kind of like a modern day 1984 in its predictions of the US in the future. We now face a similar situation today between the forces of Red Blooded Americans and the occupational U.N. forces of Klinton. This movie points out why we should always have a strong Second Amendment.

Summary: ONE OF THE MOST DEPRESSING MOVIES EVER MADE
Review: The anti-communist,Pro-American stand in this movie is admirable, however, with nearly everyone dying in this movie, it made it a little hard to follow. Lord of the Rings meets World War III. One of the only redeeming values are the performances by Powers Boothe as the pilot and of course Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey, who are two of my favorite actresses. They do not make up for the oppressive undertones and depressing storyline.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Only for 3th world war obsessed people
Review: one of the Patric Swayze's first movies, about a rusian invation to USA and how the american people try to survive, a classic of the 80's.
