Summary: Top Secret
Review: Top Secret is the funniest movies that I have ever seen. I laughed from the opening scene right through to the end. Val Kilmer plays the hero in this slapstick comedy and plays one of his best roles ever. Be sure not to miss the stand off in the hide away as it is one of the greatest fight scenes I have ever seen. .
Watchout for all the side gags and the bad, corney jokes that make this movie flow like no comedy has before.
If you don't laugh from the start to the end then save up yopur money so you can go and buy a sense of humor, as you will be hard pressed to find a funnier movie.

Summary: Just try to keep from laughing!
Review: This is the classic slap stick, silly, laugh from beginning to end movie. Val Kilmer is easy on the eyes, too.

Summary: Not much to add, but...
Review: Most of it's been said -- this movie is hilarious in that zany Airplane/Naked Gun/Hot Shots kind of way, with the straight-faced gags and all -- but one thing has not been emphasized enough. Val Kilmer is UNBELIEVABLY HOT!!! Not only is he fantastically attractive, but the singing and especially dancing are to die for. Just another reason to watch a movie which would have been fantastic anyway.

Summary: Screamingly Funny
Review: I LOVE THIS MOVIE...from the opening credits to the end, this movie is hilarious. There are so many funny scenes...from Val Kilmer's marvelous Elvis impersonation to the underwater fight scene. Unless you're hopelessly unable to let go and have some fun, you'll laugh your head off. Buy and enjoy!

Summary: How Silly Can You Get?
Review: I thought this was a great movie. There are so many funny scenes you can't possibly get them all the first time that you watch it. I watch it everytime I need a real good laugh.

Summary: Better the Second Time Around (or third...or fourth...)
Review: "Top Secret" pales in comparison to "Airplane"--that was my thought when seeing it in a theater during the opening week. The Zucker Brothers seemed to be going through the motions, when compared to their previous effort. Many gags seemed to be formula based and uninspired--in particular, perspective jokes were repeated throughout (scenery moving as opposed to a train, monstrous telephone sitting on a desk, boots with no body attached, etc.).

That's the bad--fortunately, there's enough good about this movie to overcome the weaknesses--and, miracle upon miracles, it gets better with repeated viewings. I have a well-worn Betamax videocassette of "Top Secret" and a VHS version acquired during a "Movie Channel" preview week--it's about time that Paramount put this film on DVD! It may not be the equal of "Airplane," but "Top Secret" still has some wonderfully funny moments , a lot of memorable dialogue, and some great rock 'n roll music parodies as well--not to mention the most anachronistic back-up group ever to accompany a rock star.

Am not certain if this is mentioned on the DVD, but if you have the means to do so, try listening to the scene at the Swedish bookstore in reverse (perhaps "forward" might be a better way of putting it?)--there's one additional gag that never appears in the "subtitles."

Summary: After watching it 30 times, still new things to laugh at!
Review: During my military service I saw 'Top Secret' at least 30-40 times. Several people in our small unit were nicknamed after characters from it, and after watching it so many times it's still so funny, minute by minute. Every time you see it you discover new details that makes you laugh more. It's not just a laugh machine, it's a comedy masterpiece that was polished to perfection by genious codemy writers, no less.

Summary: Hilarious! My favorite comedy of all time!
Review: This movie is just absolutely hilarious. It is a sight gag lover's dream, loaded with extremely funny scenes that will have you rolling on the floor.

The best thing about the film is that it retains the intricate humour of comedies from the 1980's with the kind of funniness that will make you think, instead of the too common "dumb-dumb" humour of today's comedies. It presents all of this, and also leaves out the gratuitous nudity that seems to be infamous of 1980's comedies as in Airplane! and Caddyshack.

From the singing horse to the underwater bar fight, I gaurantee that you will love this film.

Summary: Souvineeeers, Novelties, Party Tricks....
Review: I was sitting in my Algebra II class in 1984 (backrow) when the guy next to me starts telling me about the funniest movie he's ever seen playing in the movie theater. We ended up disrupting the whole class as he described various scenes: Flaming Hog something-or-others, who Omar likes in the Virginia Slims Tournament, Nick adding the solder's name to the Montgomery Wards mailing list...oh, and the sight gags!! My favorite is Hillary measuring her long lost love. According to her measuring tape, Nigel is QUITE a man! And Chocolate Moose...oh, don't get me started!

This is the best slapstick movie of all time. Too bad for the Zuckers, since it was all downhill from here. Val Kilmer is totally funny.
