Summary: A great chick flick for guys too!
Review: I love this movie. Not only did it bring back great memories of playing on girls' teams, it made me realize the importance of friendship. It may not be the deepest and most profound movie ever, but it's entertaining, and charming, and just plain great. In short, it's a chick flick that even the guys will enjoy. How can you not love a movie with both baseball and swing dancing?

Summary: You don't get any better than this
Review: This is my favoriote movie of all time. A Lot of me is reflceted in Mae( Madonna ) and Dottie ( Geena Davis . They are to of my favotriote actors and they are just great. Rosie O'Donnell and Lori Petty give to outstanding preformances. And what can i say about Tom Hanks. He is just a clasyy actor who is amazing at any role. Wheater it be a drunk baseball coach or a world war solider. This is a movie everyone should see.

Summary: This is a classic!
Review: Of course, this is no "Gone with the Wind", but as the ones who have seen this 1992 classic, we know that this is still a great movie.

Geena Davis plays Dottie, a proper and married woman around her late twenties-early thirties. When her kid sister Kit (Lori Petty) jumps at the chance to become part of the women's league of baseball, Dottie can go with her or Kit doesn't go.

Nevertheless, Dottie and Kit arrive there with hardly any knowhow of baseball (apart from them playing it in their small Oregon town), and soon become part of the All-American Girls Baseball League.

But things twist around from its' happy nature into a problem when Kit's traded and no longer is on Dottie's team. When Dottie's husband comes back from the war, it's good-bye baseball for Dottie.

If you buy this movie, make sure you have plenty of Kleenex ready. This movie is a tearjerker.

Summary: It is the all time greatest movie!!
Review: This is one of my all time favorite movies. Along with being very funny, it also makes me cry everytime i watch it. Hanks, and Davis give great performances and so does Lori Petty. If i could give it more then five stars i would. "Batter up"

Summary: A Classic for everyone's collection.
Review: Why is Geena Davis an Oscar-winner? Watch this flick; you won't need to ask that again. Her sensitive portrayal of Dottie Hinson highlights the many facets of Davis' talents as an actress. I loved watching a piece of history (however dramatized) which took place during my early childhood. Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell were surprisingly good as the loudmouth-but-secretly-caring-and-feeling Mae and Doris. You'll fall in love with Ann Cusack's "Shirley Baker", and poor, homely but super-star batter Marla Hooch is someone you just gotta root for. Tom Hanks gives us his usual fine performance as the arrogant, boozy and cynical (but in for some surprises) coach Jimmy Dugan. The chauvinistic/sexist way the female players were treated (professional baseball in a cocktail waitress costume!?) by management, the public and the press ("...after all, they're only girls.") will incense many viewers, but it's the way things actually were then. For the movie to be made any other way would be less than truth. The way that the real Dotties, Kits, Maes, Dorises and the others dealt with those attitudes surely contributed to social change and enlightenment about the abilities of the female half of our population. A compliment, also, to the casting people; where did they find the older look-alikes? Notably, Lynn Cartwright as "Older Dottie" and Eugenia McLin as "Older Ellen Sue". This movie is for everyone. Comedy with poignant drama. If you like teary endings, bring the Kleenex. The nostalgia scenes will start the flow. Great, great movie.
