Rating: Summary: The hills will always be alive with the Sound of Music Review: I love this film and it's one that is timeless and enjoyable each time I see it. Julie Andrews is one of my favorite actresses and she shines in this film. The cinematography in this film is absolutely breathtaking. The music is also memorable and brilliantly arranged. The dance sequences are excellent and the children often steal the show. The story is wonderful and although the film is long, it never seems dull and slow. I feel it's a must-own for any musical lover.
Rating: Summary: THE SOUND OF MUSIC ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF ALL TIME Review: The Movie is excellent. The only badpart is they cut out 2 songs from the BRoadway musical. They make up with it by the new songs Something good and I have confidense. When the new broadway play came out they had every song. The movie is in beautiful scenery and it is someting I have watched about 21 times.
Rating: Summary: A heartwarming Classic Every Family should own! Review: Based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family's life and narrow escape from Nazi occupied Austria. The picture is cast on location among the breathtaking mountains of Saltzburg Austria in the golden years just before the Nazi occupation. Maria, the young free spirited fun-loving postulant nun at Nonnberg Abbey in Salzberg, has a rather difficult time fitting into the strict rule of convent life. The wise compassionate Mother Superior suggests she be out in the world for a little while to seek the will of God. At the prompting of Mother Superior she reluctantly accepts a position as governess for the widower Captain Von Trapp's seven children. The chemistry between Maria and the Captain, is apparent but suppressed as he is engaged to marry a baroness. The affection between Maria and the children grow as she uses every opportunity to liberate them from the strict military-like and joyless existence with the solemn sea captain. The humor, liveliness and immortal songs cast in the awesome beauty of the mountainous region of Saltzberg, along with the fantastic array of believable characters and thrilling ending, make this picture one you'll not soon forget and want to see over and over!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST MUSICAL EVER! Review: THE WORDS DOE-RAI-MI WILL ALWAY'S BE IN YOUR MIND IT IS THE BEST MUSICAL YET!
Rating: Summary: Best Movie Probably Ever Made! Review: This is the perfect family movie. Filmed near Saltzberg, Austria it has breath-taking footage of the beautiful Bavarian Mountains. When they filmed this they had to wait for just the right moments because it is always cloudly in Europe! Overall, Julie Andrews is the best!!
Rating: Summary: I played the Captain in our school production Review: The SOUND OF MUSIC is one of the best movies ever made and once you have performed in the stage version "(which isn't as good as the film) you will love it forever.I recommend anyone to see this
Rating: Summary: Excellent Movie--An Improvement on the Book Review: This movie is based on the book of the same title written by Maria Augusta Trapp. The movie compresses a 12-year story into a year, but it is very well done nonetheless.
