Summary: Please Please Please Re-Release this movie
Review: This movie and soundtrack was a favorite of mine (and my family's) growing up. I have told my own kids and nieces and nephews about it...they've heard the songs, but we have not been able to locate the movie anywhere! What does it take to get a re-release? We are cheating the next generation by not being able to share this lovely classic.

Summary: Quite simply, terrific family entertainment!
Review: An excellent job at transferring the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein broadway musical to the big screen. Messrs. Rodgers and Hammerstein entertained millions for years on the broadway stage with their musicals, and the Sound of Music is their masterpiece. It was quite a task to take the entire film company to location in and around beautiful Salzburg, Austria to make this musical picture, but it was well worth it in the end. Although a long film, it's one that should keep everyone in their seats to enjoy all the way through!

Summary: The best movie of all times....
Review: When I was a little girl, I started watching this movie, and it had such a great impact on me. What a wonderful movie. It has everything: drama, romance, coming of age, family, and war. I really wanted to share the experience with my niece and nephew only to find that I can't find it. I hope that the production companies realize that this movie is a classic and to re-release it for the next generation.

Summary: A great movie
Review: This movie has been my favorite for ten years. When I was a little older (I was only four when I first saw it), my mother said that the von Trapp Family were real people and that Maria had written books on them. That really got me started, and now I am a TSOM nut!!! THe scenery is beautiful, and I like to think this movie is why I enjoy music.

Summary: The greatest musical of all time!
Review: Yes, it can be very corny at times and sure, it can benefit from being a little more subtle in its anti-Nazi propaganda (gee, even Shindler's List was more subtle about it), but what makes The Sound of Music so great is pure and simple - its heart. It is endearing and captivating, thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end. The songs stick to your mind like glue and you not only end up humming them after the movie, but possibly for the rest of your life! The characters are bright and likeable and Julie Andrews is wonderful as Maria. A must-see for all ages!
