Summary: What's the classic part?
Review: I think this movie is over-rated. The actors and actresses are over-playing their roles - even if you know it's a 1939-movie. The story is a typical American love-story with a dialog made for the simple-minded. The presentation of the glorious South before, during and after the civil war, was, in my opinion, a lecture in historical desinformation. I watched it for the third time after bying it as a DVD, and I was very disappointed when I really studied the story and the dialog: it's both naiv and filled with banalities. Why is it still so popular in the US? Well, maybe it has something to do with the Americans dreaming of the glorious past - that is never coming back again.

Summary: sucked
Review: Quite possibly the most overrated movie of all time. Who wants to spend five hours listening to a bunch of spoiled, racist brats? I'd rather slap Scarlett than kiss her. If this is what The Old South was really like, then thank God those damn Yankees won. I'd of marched with Gen. Sherman anytime!

Summary: Gone With The Wind is in proper screen ratio on DVD
Review: All these misinformed comments about this film having been made in widescreen are wrong. It was shot in 1.33:1, about the same ratio as a standard TV screen. The horrible widescreen edition of the 60's lopped off the top and bottom of the image. Wide Screen was not readily available until the early 50's. The DVD image is better than it should be!

Review: This was the best that I've ever seen. I enjoyed this movie and I adored the costumes and settings. The famous lines were good too. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable were great!

Summary: way cool
Review: I love it, I love it, I love it. It is one of my absolute favorite movies ever!! I love the dresses and the plot. Scarlett is so cool. She has a way with guys and she is my hero. She doesn't try to please any one but herself. Well, I own the DVD and it is sooo cool. My friend didn't think she'd like it but we started it and she loved it too. Oh and Prissy is also cool. "Miss Scarlett, I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies" teehee. I really love this movie. BUY IT NOW!

Summary: Not enough to complete the film............
Review: I've rated this three stars because the GWTW movie has not much things in it. I like the book better. When I start watching it in less then 5 minutes when it is in Twelve Oaks it jump to page 120 already. It takes me 1 week to be on page 120. Most of the parts are not in the film. The book has everything. I think it is okey to watch it. To me its a great film but not much think in there. The characters are not in the film is Cookie, Dilcey, and Pork. They are slaves. I was disapointing. I thought it would be the same as the book but it is not. That's a waste of $17.00.

Summary: Considering its age, the greatest film ever made
Review: An amazing example of story telling, with all credits from acting to cinematography of an immenently watchable standard that captivates fully inspite of its age. Countless viewings do not dull its impact.
