Summary: Unbelievable! A must see for anyone!
Review: This is the greatest mini series of all time. I love my war movies, and never have I become so attached or so involved with any other war movie or mini series than I was with BOB. Saving Private Ryan (while still a most excellent movie) doesn't seem nearly as powerful when compared to this. Stop reading these reviews, and get your hands on a copy any way you can. Bottom line, it is a must see for anyone.

Summary: Band Of Brothers Best War Epic Ever
Review: HBO's miniseries Band Of Brothers was without a doubt the most moving thing I have ever watched. It was just surreal to watch. I even began to feel an attachment to the men of E-Company. I was captivated by the 10weeks of entertainment, and felt fulfilled yet lost when it was over. Hanks and Speilberg went over the top to make this as real as they could. I have never seen a better war movie/documentary before. I recommend this to ANYONE wishing to be entertained, and stimulated emotionally and intellectually. You will be entertained, as well as educated in the politicts and hardships of WWII

Summary: One of the Greastest Series I Have Ever Watched
Review: IMHO, Band of Brothers was the greatest series ever created. I never have been so obsessed and emotionally involved in a television show/series as I was with this. I laughed, nearly cried many times and was on the edge of my seat the entire hour of each episode. I have never been a big history buff, but after watching this series I have purchased Stephen Ambrose's B of B book and several others by him and other authors. Unbelievable.

The Greatest Generation....period.

Summary: Simply the best!
Review: Hanks+Spelberg=AWESOME!
Never have I seen such a great series about WWII. Everything was well placed and brought on, even little things the audience didn't see at first. This beats the heck out of 'Private Ryan' and 'Thin Red Line'.

Summary: The ONLY DVD to own if you only buy one
Review: This Mini Series is THE reason to purchase a DVD player if you have yet to do so.

Saving Private Ryan was the reason I finally broke down and purchased a DVD player....as much as I hate to say it....Band Of Brothers in my eyes "beats" Saving Private Ryan...trust me...I LOVED SPR...however BOB just blew me away...if I ever happen to come across Tom Hanks or Steven Spielberg I will shake their hands and THANK them for making this mini series and bringing recognition to the Men of Easy CO. and all the men and women that served our country and quite literally saved the world.

Band Of Brothers is THE reason I was glued to my television every Sunday night for 11 weeks.

Summary: Absolutely Outstanding Depiction of Realities of War
Review: I am old enough to have lived through World War II and to have known many men who fought in it and this is the most outstanding, realistic war movie I have ever seen (or probably ever will see), including the excellent "Saving Private Ryan". Hanks and Spielberg have done a truly epic job of portraying the horrors, glories, camaraderie, and insanity of war and have created an unbelievably authentic picture of the battles fought by the American soldiers who landed on D-Day and slogged through cold, snow, blood, bullets and misery to ultimate victory, at great cost. The cast is uniformly excellent and benefits from being mostly unknown or very little known--Damien Lewis is a real find and Donnie Wahlberg is a wonderful surprise. There are no false notes anywhere in this production and the exploration of leadership, cowardice, friendship, humor and courage is riveting and without peer in any other war film I have seen. I recommend that everyone who appreciates this country see this series and I would make it required viewing in history classes.

Summary: This is a must see series
Review: This is by far one of the best movies on this subject I have ever seen. It gives the viewer a feeling of what it was like to actually be there from different people introducing the personal feelings of a variety of people doing different jobs with varying responsibilities. It finally shows just what combat soldiers suffered through during the many conflicts in our history to make/keep our country free. I only hope that viewers will understand that these were real men and these are real events. Not like many people I talked to about Titanic who actually thought James Cameron made up the sinking of the ship as a backdrop to his love story!!! I hope this along with Saving Private Ryan will shake people enough so this bickering over the WWII memorial will end and these men (and women) will be honored as they deserve to be!!! I wish I could give this 5,000 stars!!!

Summary: An excellent tribute to our veterans.
Review: While I don't know the individual characters involved and did not grow up in the WWII era, I have imbibed more than one of Ambrose's books (esp. Band of Brothers) and several other histories about the subject with some ardor. In my view, the HBO series captures the essence of the characters, mood and historical importance of the events related in Ambrose's book with an honest attention to detail. The tone set in the story (especially the episode directed by Tom Hanks, which I thought was the best in the series) is perfect -- not overly reverential or melodramatic. On the one hand, it tells the story of these very real people with all their very real faults and failures. On the other, it tells us that it was these imperfect men who nevertheless accomplished a goal of such monumental proportions that it is difficult to overstate it. They quite literally saved civilization as we know it. Especially given the recent madness of Bin Laden and his cohorts, can you imagine what our planet would be like if someone of his ilk (e.g. Hitler) had succeeded? Watching this series, it dawned upon me the infinite debt of gratitude all of us owe to these men of Easy Company, and the millions of other men and women like them. Every person who cherishes freedom and moral courage, wherever they may harken from, should watch this series.

Review: Some of the best special effects ever used in a tv program, fantastic realism, and some wonderfull performances made this stand out. I truly belive it gives The Sopranos a run for its money as the greatest tv series ever.
