Summary: Band of Brothers Review
Review: Band of Brothers is an amazing series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with all of the Trauma, horror, and tragedies of real life combat. This series is not only a great non-fictional epic. The special effects create the looks of real-life combat to a level never thought possible. From dropping out of an airplane into the midst of all hell at Normandy to Hitler's Eagles Nest, Band of Brothers portrays the combat career of Lt. Winters starting as the CO of EZ-company and then moving up the carreer ladder through intense scenes of battle.I would definately recommend Band of Brothers.

Summary: The Best Ever
Review: Absolutely the very best war movie ever made. Haunting, gripping and compelling. An incredible cast who makes the viewer feel as though they KNOW each of the characters personally. The most realistic special effects yet - second to none - they pick up where "Saving Private Ryan" left off. You can almost feel, smell and touch everything. Truly representative of all those of the "Greatest Generation." who made huge personal sacrifices for the freedoms we enjoy today. The subsequent HBO presentation, "We Stand Alone Together - The Men of Easy Company," introduces the viewer to the real men themselves as they are today, and defines with crystal clarity the source of the title and the deep, life-long bond they still share. I would consider it an honor to meet any of the members of Easy Company, and especially to have the privilege of shaking the hand of the real (Maj.) Richard D. Winters - just to say "thank you."

Summary: As exciting as Saving Private Ryan and more
Review: If you liked Saving Private Ryan you'll love Band of Brothers. Set in WWII the series spotlights on different characters and their situations during the war. It also shows the bond between the men as the war progresses. When fighting in grim situations, they find courage and inspiration through the men that they stand next to. These nicely greased up men with blood and sweat, and sweaty shirts and sweaty muscles develop a bond that war forced upon them. With their heaving bodies in close quarters, huddling together while bullets fly past all the while they think "is this where I die or is this the last I'll ever see of my company? Please dont let me die. I love the EZ company. I love the EZ men I serve with. I love it EZ and slow." The story is exciting as it is touching. Band of Brothers is one war story worth watching. 5 stars 2 snaps and a hip swing to this series.

Summary: All time great WW2 drama
Review: I never really thought that 'Saving Private Ryan' would be exceeded so quickly by a better movie, let alone a made for TV series. Band of Brothers has all the qualities of 'Saving Private Ryan' and we can watch it for episode after episode. I thought after the first couple of viewings that the characters developed a little slowly, but as the series moves on they grow with the battlefield dramas unfolding around the viewer. Strangely though, I feel that the characters, although very real, take second place to the events surrounding the whole company. This is unusual, but it works well in protraying all the action that the company are involved in. The camera work is superb, and aka 'Saving Private Ryan' is what really sets this series apart. The direction is outstanding and the attention to detail of the sets, uniforms, vehicles etc is excellent. This series really marks the standard that any other prospective producers of similar subjects are going to find hard to emulate. This one is on top of my list of most wanted DVD's. WW2 drama at its absolute best.

Summary: Excellent Series
Review: Any dedication to the great men who saved the world is worth owning. However this Series on HBO is one of the best ever. I planned my week around the event when it first aired. I was never disappointed. The second time it aired I watched every episode again and enjoyed it as much or more than the first.

Many have mentioned some of the "historical inaccuracy" of which I'm sure there are many. That does not make this event any thing less than spectacular still. Each episode could be a great story on it's own.

With every episode you get a small glimpse of the horror ALL the great soldiers for the Allies went thru. There is a greatness that will never be forgotten as long as there is a history of man. This fine mini-series does a fantastic job of capturing greatness shown by a small group of men.

Bravo to HBO and everyone involved in this production. I hope they next installment that honors the heros of WWII is anything close to as good as this one.

Summary: Not Easily Dismissed, Not Over-Rated & 100 % True!
Review: This television miniseries Band of Brothers is without a doubt my favorite war movie to watch. It has the special effects of Saving Private Ryan (Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore), the dark side of war like Apocalypse Now (Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall), a great story like Platoon (Tom Berenger, Williem Defoe) and the glory of The Thin Red Line (Sean Penn, Nick Nolte). But somehow, combine all these war films and you get Band of Brothers. Band of Brothers has everything you go to the movies for, except you get to enjoy the 10-Hour event right from your own home on HBO. Now, all we need is the DVD, thus more special features. I can't believe Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg could make this series anything like Saving Private Ryan, but it did. Band of Brothers is not a fairy tale, its not an exaggeration and its not like anything you've ever seen...but its 100% true! I think thats what thrills me the most about this project. It has the time on its side for you to feel about each character as you would your own brother, father or husband. Each time one gets injured or killed, you almost weep. Francis Ford Coppola, Oliver Stone and Michael Comino's war epics cannot even begin to touch what Band of Brothers does. Its a tribute to each man and woman who fought in WWII for this great country.

Like on the book Band of Brothers, Steven E. Ambrose wrote "With the eyes of the world upon them they found their greatest strength in each other". If you missed this series then you missed something big, but dont fear on November 5th this year, the dvd set is being released. This is not a rumor, this comes straight from the horses mouth: Tom Hanks. They asked him what he thought about Lord of the Rings coming out with a 5-Disc DVD Set w/ 9 Hours of bonus features (including the movie) and Hanks Replied "9 hours, heh, the Band of Brothers DVD Set coming out is 10 hours". When this comes out, Im buying it without hesitation! I suggest you war buffs do the same! If you loved Saving Private Ryan, Platoon or Apocalypse Now you will simply love this!

Summary: Something everyone should see to remember.
Review: The fact Band of Brothers is based upon real men makes it something everyone, especially our younger generation should see. The film shows us the actual participants in scenes depicting what these men actually went through defending our country. These men, and all men and women who served during World War II, are truly the greatest generation of Americans.

I think it fitting that those who did not live through the horror of World War II need to see the sacrifices these men made. Their bravery is almost unbelievable even though the movie version is not nearly as horrible and violent as actual combat. We need to honor these people and to not forget their dedication and bravery, especially in our country today where corporate greed and a lack of ethics are rampant. We need to ask the question, did these men make these sacrifices just so these corporate executives can rape the public and the environment? I think not! Honor these men now, while some of them are still with us. After all, we are loosing 1,000 of these people each and every day. We need more films like Band of Brothers.

Summary: The Best show i have ever seen and i am only 11
Review: I saw almost all the episodes except for the episode where they go to hitlers eagles nest. they were all good the action was intense their. There was not a whole lot of gore though. i think they needed a little more gore in the series but it was excellent. The actors were terrific. I also think they should have had more action and less talking like Black Hawk Down. If you are thinking about buying it BUY IT NOW.

Summary: Band of Brothers--The Series and Book
Review: The best war drama and book I have seen and read over the past 45 years. Surpasses "Saving Private Ryan", not necessarily in special effects, but in the portrayal of soldiers and how they cope with the gruesome realities of war and infantry combat. As a combat vet from Vietnam, this is the closest realization of war and the real center of combat. You cannot explain what war is and how combat feels to those who haven't experienced it, but this is close--you just don't smell what war smells like, the sickening, sweet smell of blood, the acrid odor of explosives and propellants, and the stench of burned flesh and death; and you can't really feel that rush of adrenalin and other chemicals that the body produces when fear and shock strike the body and brain. But what it does portray better than previous movies, is the bond that develops between infantrymen who try to make sense out of such chaos and violence, and who suffer, persevere and survive combat.
