Summary: One of the best shows on television
Review: This show is so good that T.V watching this year for me has been great. The acting is great, the drama is excellent, the story's are moving and the show felt very epic. As soon as this came out on DVD I bought it that's how much I love it.

Summary: Must story for all to see
Review: Someone I know told me once "You don't know what it's like to be free because you served in the Military."

What she needs to do is see this series. And see what the people who fought World War Two went through, to give her the FREEDOM to even say such offensive words to me.

Band of Brothers is the best attempt yet at showing the brutality of combat, it's effects on the people fighting it,
and the drama that surrounds it. It's quite a change from the ridiculous Ramboesque movies that Hollywood created not too long ago.

It's VERY well done. The acting is top notch, the effects are excellent, the stories are cleverly done and directed. The only sore points were the DVD's themselves, which have a good amount of additional information, but it seems haphazardly done in order to finish the DVDs on time.

I must admit I shed a few tears towards the end. To that person who said the above words to me, I reccommend that she sees this series, and realizes that if it wasn't for the boys of Easy Company and the millions of others who fought in America's wars, she would never have the freedom to even think of saying it.

Summary: Outstanding! Thank you Mr. Hanks and Mr. Speilberg!
Review: If you know everything or nothing about WWII this movie is a MUST SEE. If you think the world doesn't have real heros, this movie is a must see. It gives you some insight into a period of time that too many of us never learned in school or have long forgotten. It will remind you of what real American values are and of the reality that is war. I can promise you this...before these ten hours are through, you will grow a respect and admiration for these men that is palpable. I hope that one day every high schooler will have to see this (or read the book--I suggest anyone do this anyway) before they graduate. Don't expect the kind of dramatic re-tell complete with a random love story as in movies like "Pearl Harbor". There are no "cheesy" moments of dramatic license that don't belong there.....the real story is dramatic enough on it's own. The acting is outstanding...Damian Lewis is excellent as Major Winters, and David Schwimmer will surprise you with his wonderful performance as Sobol. There are too many great performances to name. The film appears to be very well researched and no expense spared when it came to making things as accurate as possible. If you are able to purchase an edition that includes the documentary companion as well, all the better...the performance of "Bridgette O'Flynn" alone is well worth searching it out. See it! See it! See it!

Review: A stunning TV-series and a stunning boxset! If you're into military and recent history DO NOT PASS THIS!The visuals are excellent and the sound is rocking the house, actually to the extent of causing me almost an heart attack.Sudden blasts of incoming arty are quite,er,realistic as is the para-drop in part 2...One thing I also liked was the total lack of "hero-machine gun fired from the hip killing dozens of enemies-superficial flesh wounds in the shoulder"-scene that usually is incorporated in all gun-related films.

Summary: The best war movie/series I've EVER seen!
Review: This series tops every war movie that I have previously seen; Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, We Were Soldiers, you name it, BoB is 100 times better.Awsome battle scenes, touching drama, top-noch acting, this set has it all. It well portrays how a group of young men can become like brothers and bond during wartime. This is a must buy dvd set.

Review: I received this series today for a Christmas present. I have watched the 1st 3 episodes with great interest. Because of my young age at the time(18), I was in boot camp when D-Day started.
I survived because I was born a couple of years late. Pure chance.
Mr Diaz of Miami, Florida: if your TV is older than 1993 it will not pick up CC. I must have CC because I am quite deaf and wear hearing aids. Band of Brothers does not have its own CC; you have to pick it up with the CC on your TV. Good luck in your endeavors; they are commendable. Bill from Oceanside, CA.

Summary: Band of Brothers DVD set
Review: This is a great set, highly accurate portrayal of E Co./506th, 101st Airborne. Every member of the cast truely becomes the soldier they are playing in this work.(The documentery that comes with the mini-series is excellent as well.) A few scenes differ just slighty from the Ambrose book. Perhaps to make the series more fluid or add more value. My only gripe is that the set comes in a neat little ammo can like tin(which is fine). But the discs fold out on a cardboard style bandolier. They are extremely difficult to remove from those sweet little push buttons. Ive seen better designs, cant someone standardize this little push thing in the center of DVD's??
