Summary: Clown show about the Holocaust?
Review: This show is ruled by Begnini whom I account as a great clown dying to be a dramatic actor instead. I don't know where from comes his recipe of snatching a prize bride from a handsome and rich guy with bare jesting, not from life for sure. Probably from his own and very personal dreams. Overall, this movie is certainly fun to watch, but leaves bad aftertaste once you see the whole thing and say thanks that you did not see it before you knew how real life works. Otherwise you might had gotten your judgment severely impaired.

Summary: Bravo, Roberto Benigni!
Review: I "fell in love" with this heart-warming film. It is truly an endearing & uplifting love story that will touch your heart & funny bone. This film's qualities greatly surpass that of most films today. It gives new meaning to the word "hope" and makes you thankful for your family, as well as realize that life is precious. It is no wonder Mr. Benigni is Italy's National Treasure. He's truly delightful & talented! And little Giorgio Cantarini is absolutely adorable! I cannot fully put into words how this film made me feel... but it is a film that will be among my most favorites for years to come.

Summary: For those who thought it did injustice to the Holocaust...
Review: I watched this movie with a Holocaust survivor. She said afterward it was the one movie she had seen that did entire justice to the Holocaust, because it showed that the only way to make it through and still be remotely sound in mind was to create a fantasy world for oneself, to convince oneself that what one was experiencing was not reality. This movie does not make light of the Holocaust, it shows what strength of spirit it took to get through it. To remain that light-hearted in the midst of probably the greatest tragedy of the 20th century is strength indeed. I wish that I could give this movie more than 5 stars. I laughed, I cried, and it haunted me for weeks. If you don't see it, you are missing out on the most beautiful movie, both cinematographically and in spirit, that has ever been made.

Summary: Roberto is Beautiful
Review: Roberto Benigni's story of a father's attempt to shield his son from the horrors of the Holocaust through the use of humor and wit seems almost unbelievable at first. But the layering of the story, from the first meeting between Roberto's character and his "princhesa" to the movie's final frames will leave you awestruck at its complexity. Benigni never discounts the suffering of the Jews during that terrible period of human history. He uses enough tension that one can only imagine the depths to which the victims went through to keep their sanity. However, there are plenty of scenes that you will laugh out loud and such an ending as to make you weep. You will never forget this picture- it is truly enjoyable for both men and women. Buy it!

Summary: Unforgettable. Like no other recent film.
Review: Believe what you read about this movie (tape/DVD). Originally, I thought "Saving Private Ryan" was the only film of significance in the late '90s. Then I saw "Life is Beautiful". I think it's one of the greatest 100 movies of all time. Many can argue where it would rank, but I think only the movie "The Deer Hunter", which I saw at a much younger age, shook me, moved me, absorbed me like "Life is Beautiful". The Academy Award 'Oscars' that Roberto Benigni received for this film are very, very deserving. He's the closest thing we have to Chaplin in this day and age. If you have kids, there will not be a dry eye in your house near the end of this film.

Summary: Greatest movie ever!
Review: Roberto Benigni is absolutely masterful in this foreign film. Not a fan of foreign films and subtitles, I saw this movie for the first time with much skeptisism. However, I found myself turning up the volume to listen to the beautiful Italian as I read along. As you watch this movie more and more, the subtitles become non-existant. If you are a fan of movies, this is one for you! Everyone loves this movie! It's a winner, I promise!

Review: As a comedian, Roberto Bengini has few contemporaries, ranking on the short list that includes Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. His films are 'monsters' in Italy, and it is only through using this tremendous influence that "Life is Beautiful" was able to be made. A delightful fable of innocence and love---how can life be beautiful when it's set amongst the most grizzly and disturbing circumstances of our lifetime? only through the enlightened vision and dedication of the filmmaker. Life is Beautiful will garner its share of Oscar noms, and will likely be seen in the US by more people than any non-English speaking film. If you haven't seen it, shame on you.

Summary: Life is Beautiful
Review: As I watched this movie I was laughing my head off, but one thought was going across my mind: "How could they portray the most evil time in human history with such levity". The people in the concentration camp didn't lose weight, nor did they seem to suffer much in the movie. I thought that this movie did injustice to the survivors. Until the very end of the movie. When the movie finally reveals from who's point of view this movie was being told the whole weight of the movie hit me, and hit me hard. One man's undying love for his wife and dedication for his child move me to burst out in tears when it was finally revealed who's story that was. This is the most incredible and most loving story I have ever heard. As this movie shows and reminds again; in a man's life his father is the greatest hero.
