Description:

Get the most from a DVD player and audio/video receiver with this full-range surround-sound speaker system from JBL. The four satellite speakers (left/right front and surround) and center-channel speaker fill a room with sound, while the 150-watt powered subwoofer rounds out the bottom end, delivering the floor-shaking bass supplied by a program's low-frequency-effects channel (the ".1" in a 5.1-channel presentation).

All speakers are video shielded to allow distortion-free placement on or around a television, and the satellite speakers may be mounted on stands, shelves, or the wall. JBL recommends powering the satellites with 10 to 100 watts per channel--that's enough to enjoy exciting home-theater sound (but those seeking bigger thrills will want larger amplifiers and heavier-duty speakers).

Each satellite (and the center channel) houses two 3-inch drivers and half-inch titanium-laminate dome tweeters, and the ported subwoofer uses a large, 10-inch woofer for bass reaching down to around 30 Hz.

What's in the Box
Four satellite speakers, one center-channel speaker with adjustable support leg, one subwoofer, four sets of wall-mounting brackets, user's manual, two 20-foot speaker cables (for connection from receiver to subwoofer), three 40-foot speaker cables (for connection from receiver to left and right rear satellites and center speaker), two 15-foot speaker cables (for connection from subwoofer to front speakers).
