Summary: Boris FX, Graffiti and Red Explained
Review: I purchased Graffiti about 6 months ago, FX about 2 months ago. After spot reading the manual, trying the tutorials, and experimenting a bit, I still did not get it and was forced to use the library effects in my projects.

This tutorial unraveled the mysteries and I now get it. The set-up guidance taught me more in 5 minutes that reading the first chapter of the 800 page manual provided with the software. Being able to see construction of an effect, follow along with the provided materials, and view the final effect is the only way to learn.

Finally, I am a Vegas user and the author provides an insight to using the program with Vegas and a workaround of the limitations between these programs.

Thank you for the tutorial and I look forward to the advanced series!

Summary: Best training out there!
Review: There are currently two sets of DVDs available for Boris training, this one and the one made by Intelligent Assistance. I bought them both. I should have only bought this one.

This Class on Demand set is at least 100 times better than the IA DVD. It comes with a CD Rom containing media to work along with and you can play the DVD discs in either your TV or your computer (IA suggests that their DVD offers "more raster area to work with" like it's a benefit that you can't watch their DVD on your TV set if you want to). The Amazon description says this disc set is only viewable in region one, but that's not true. I have a region 2 player (PAL) and it works fine on that player as well as my region one and my computer's DVD Rom.

The program is amazingly thorough and helpful. The host is comfortable and relaxed and he makes following along fun and easy. It starts a bit dry, but I think the ad nauseum descriptions of the program nake a good reference to rely on if you need to know what a certain button or series of buttons is used for. It's the perfect introduction for beginners.

For more experienced users, the DVD breaks the code on how to do many more complex things like text animation, rotoscoping, and chroma keying.

This DVD (2 DVDs and a CD-Rom, actually) is spot-on: well produced, well thought out, and well worth the price. Buy it TODAY and start understanding how to use your software.
