Summary: A well constructed video on how to write a simple essay.
Review: Whether you're preparing for the essay portion of the G.E.D. writing test, or writing a short paper for a high school class, or even a beginning college student who needs to brush up on basic outline structure, this essay video is for you. This simple format is laid out in a very easy to understand four-paragraph structure put together by an instructor who, for the past 15 years, has been showing students how to successfully prepare for the essay portion of the G.E.D. writing test.
Author of two novels, and head of his own publishing company, Mr. Cox has taken a common essay format and simplified it so that anyone can immediately begin writing well organized essays. After years of watching students struggle with trying to construct paragraphs, Mr. Cox proceeded to put together an outline made up of four paragraphs with each one made up of four simple sentences. These paragraphs are constructed in such a way as to allow students to focus on organization first rather than on formal English concepts. This allows the student to grasp the ideas on how to begin a paragraph, then how to structure the middle of a paragraph, then how to end a paragraph, and finally how paragraphs are connected to each other.
Mr. Cox's G.E.D. students have routinely and successfully passed the writing portion of the G.E.D. test using this easy to understand format. It is now available for anyone interested in learning the basics of organization and paragraph structure.
Mr. Cox has constructed three complete practice essays step by step in this 50 minute video so that the viewer will be able to thoroughly understand all the steps necessary to begin writing his or her own essays.
