Summary: Interesting Workouts
Review: This is an excellent and very interesting exposition of Pilates mat workouts with a magic circle. My own instructor training was not in the 'classical' tradition, but now I see why it's important to teach this way. After seeing this DVD I bought the other Classical Pilates videos, and I plan to complete more training in the traditional approach. The proof is in the pudding when you get the best mental and physical benefits.

Summary: Slightly disappointed
Review: This video essentially incorporates the magic circle into the standard Pilates mat work. It doesn't demonstrate all the possibilities for using the magic circle (there are no arm exercises, for example) and in my opinion falls short of featuring new and varied exercises.

Summary: What a great DVD!
Review: With so many people adding their own approach to Pilates, it is difficult to trust anything that sounds new and different. However, this DVD is produced by Classical Pilates, a company that has earned my respect for presenting the true original method. Using the Magic Circle increases the effort of all the mat exercises, and the entire Reformer Mat is a workout to work up to! Both workouts are complete unto themselves, but individual exercises are quite beneficial. Including just a few of them into my routine has infused my workout with a renewed vitality!
