Summary: Thought-provoking
Review: Like it or not, the fact remains that "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon" is a superlatively made, thought-provoking documentary. It is true that this video often seems more like a generlized, idealistic essay on social injustice and government corruption (did not understand the JFK assassination tie-in), but is well written and replete with enough damning evidence to garner a conviction from the O.J Simpson trial's jury.

I am hardly a savant when it comes to optical principles and concepts but anyone with a video camera can infer that the newly discovered Apollo 11 footage in the video was taken in Earth's orbit, filmed through a circular window, creating the illusion of a distant Earth. And the continents seeming small, those could easily be small islands that resemble Earth's continents.

Although it does not prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the the Apollo missions were faked, still worth buying for the aforementioned never before seen Apollo 11 footage--yes, it is convincing.

Personally, the jury is still deliberating on this controversial topic. However, comparing the theory to such apocryphal drivel as UFO's, psychics, Bigfoot, etc. is shortsighted. It would be nothing less than naive to assume that the government, given the motive (which they certainly had), would not perpetrate such a hoax on an unsuspecting population.

Regarding previous reviews: P. T. Barnum never actually quoted "There's a sucker born every minute."

Summary: WHY THE WAR OF WORDS?
Review: IF THEY REALLY WENT TO THE MOON , THEN ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS INSANE AND NOT WORTH THE TIME TO REBUT , YET THERE ARE NUMEROUS WEB SITES THAT HAVE EXPENDED THOUSANDS OF HOURS IN THEIR CONSTRUCTION JUST TO REASSURE US THAT THE SO OBVIOUS MOON LANDINGS WERE , IN FACT , REAL . CURIOUS TOO IS THE FACT THAT IF YOU LOOK UP " MOON HOAX " ON MOST SEARCH ENGINES THE TOP FIVE SITES ARE NOT ABOUT THE MOON HOAX , RATHER ABOUT HOW THE MOON HOAX IS N- O-T TRUE . WE LIVE IN A DARK WORLD . ALONG COMES A FILM THAT CONTAINS NEWLY DISCOVERED UNPRECEDENTED EVIDENCE OF THE GREATEST GOVERNMENT FRAUD IN MODERN HISTORY AND SOMEONE IS SPENDING A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT TO WARN YOU NOT TO SEE IT . I HAVE SEEN IT . IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE . IT WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD AND SOMEBODY KNOWS IT .

Summary: The Conspiricy Theory industry gives us another one.
Review: How does a flag wave when there is no air on the moon, asked one poster?
Simple, the metallic material once pushed moves because there is nothing to stop it.
I would have thought that any 'intelligent person' would realise the true facts:1-live signals from the moon landings were picked up in London,Australia and the US,2-instruments were left on the moon that transmitted to Earth for years,3-the reflectors left on the moon,so that laser beams could be bounced off them to measure continental drift, are still used today(now, how did they get there?),4-The 7 storey high Apollo craft took off in front of thousands,5-the Apollo capsule was seen on live TV descending from the clouds to the ocean(again for the paranoid few,how did it get there?),6-the lunar vehicle was seen to roam up to 5 miles from its ship(big stage?),7-there is film and photos of Earth from the moon's orbit,8-moon rock was brought back that has been analysed by scientists around the world.
Unfortunately,as the "Elvis is alive" special showed us with it's so-called "proof",there will always be a market for cynical people worthy of the Mel Gibson character in Conspiracy Theory who are suckers for so-called "documentaries' like this.
This 'documentary' can now join the other absurd ones like the In Search of Noahs Ark documentary(which was filmed in Utah in two weeks)the Nostradamus specials that said the World was going to end in 1997,the Alien Autopsy special with it's rubber alien, the flying saucer and Loch Ness monster specials with their out of focus photos.
Save your money and don't buy it.
To quote PT Barnum, there's a sucker born every minute.

Summary: Interesting and Funny
Review: My grandmother died and she never believed that the man walked on the moon.It is the first time after this that i hear this theory again in this dvd.I really dont know if all what you will see is scientificslly proven or not but i found it interesting watching it.I am giving it four stars just because it is beyond funny the idea of the theory that the man never walked on the moon is true.

Summary: OH, NOOOOO!!!!
Review: In a society that has free speech, I guess we have to tolerate... STUFF like this. But I cannot more strongly recommend to you TO NOT BUY THIS JUNK. You will only encourage the dumbing-down, anti-science, historical revisionist movement. Please, please I hope this is not a growing trend.

Summary: Puts the 'dumb' back in 'stupid'
Review: I've known for a long time that the level of scientific expertise in this nation is poor, but never have I seen so amptly proven. Obviously in a desperate attempt to make money, Bart W. Sibrel has created this 47-minute documentary, which ranges from unsubstantiated and conjectural at the best to completely ridiculous and downright humorous at the worst. I laughed my way through most of this, and also through the ludicrous FOX documentary which was broadcast on Thursday, February 15. After both programs, I told myself that the sensationalist garbage convinced me more than ever that we have landed on the moon during the Apollo program.

Sibrel is one of the more amusing conspiracy theorists involved in this issue, and he proves it in this video. Most of the so-called "evidence" that is put forth as evidence of a faked lunar landing is not new or damning, and can easily be explained by a high school student with a basic physics book. However, a great deal has been made out of the new video footage which "proves" that Apollo 11, and astronauts Neil Armstrong, Mike Collins, and Buzz Aldrin, never left earth orbit. Actually, this video is nothing more than footage of Apollo 11's second telecast from space, while on their way to the moon. Aldrin is moving the camera, and panning back at the earth; if this footage were taken from earth orbit, we would see the clouds and land formations changing. However, since the earth remains completely still, it is obviously viewing the earth as a globe, and are making their way to the moon in the command module Columbia. Sibrel, ever the rational thinker, claims that the footage was taken using cardboard to give the impression that they were far away from earth, when they were really only at an altitude of 250 miles, in earth orbit. This is quite a fantasy, and it could only be concocted by someone with very little real knowledge in spaceflight and the Apollo lunar landings.

Thus, I remain convinced, and always will be, that twenty-four Apollo astronauts have indeed sailed the translunar gulf. Sibrel can keep fooling himself for as long as he pleases, and can continue to try to make money off the gullible and uninformed, but I will always know the truth of this matter. Do not waste your money on this video, and if you are stupid enough to believe that we never landed on the moon, then get a clue and try something productive. I would rather read Andrew Chaikin's 700-page book A Man on the Moon, published in 1994, which relates the real story of the lunar landings!

Summary: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Making a Movie...
Review: I heard Mr. Sibrel speaking on a radio program and found the premise intriguing. I ordered the DVD primarily to see the irrefutable evidence he touted on the radio program. What I got instead was a lot of speculation as to motive, some sketchy photographic shadow evidence, a gloss on the Van Allen radiation belts, about which rather little is definitively known, and snatches of video evidence interpreted for us by the narrator.

The video evidence, taken by crew members during their trip, was supposed to be the most explosive and convincing evidence, but, although video was found from three days of the mission, only a few minutes are shown to the viewers. What is shown is paraphrased and interpreted for the viewer by the narrator. It would have been a great deal more convincing had more of this "evidence" been played, then discussed, rather than having to take the narrator's word for what is happening and what is being said. The narrator also asserts that there is a 3rd "secret" party, unbeknownst to NASA ground control, who is orchestrating the responses of the crew members. Unfortunately, the only example given of third party's contribution is one word, "Talk," which didn't appear to be very incriminating. The 3rd party only instructed them to talk, not as to what should be said.

I also find it particularly troublesome that Neil Armstrong is assigned various unsavoury motives for his refusal to give interviews. He is not a movie star or TV personality who joined the space program for fame and fortune. The bottom line is that having been an astronaut who went to the moon does not make him a public figure required to give interviews to any and all who ask.

The video is further watered down by comparisons to the Manhattan project and the Kennedy assassination, as well as statistics recounting how many people could have been housed and fed had we not spent all this money on a false space program. The comparisons and statistics make this video appear as more of a philosophical and/or political vendetta than a documentary.

In the end, none of what is shown in this video is critical, irrefutable evidence. With a few minutes of research on the internet, I was able to find faults in most of the arguments, including the video evidence. If you're looking for conclusive evidence of a hoax, rather than emotional speculation, look elsewhere.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I was very disappointed with this title. My advise is to save your money. The documentary spends a lot of time covering the events of the 1960s instead of the so called evidence. I found the Fox special more compelling. I am still undecided about whether we went to the moon or not. This DVD did not convince me. The Fox special at least got me thinking about the possibility.

Summary: Le Hoax
Review: I do agree with those who say that it seems like the moonmovie.com people are just after makin gmoney.. but then again.. after 5 years and a half a million buckiolas spent on this project, I would want some payback as well.. I also have a comment about the people who are saying "of course the flag was waving, he was holding it all the time spinnin git around". Take a look at this photo from nasa.gov...it has a flag waving, and an astronaut standing a couple of steps away from the flag. he is nowhere near the flag.

I would love for you to visit the website. We have a lot of info on the Apollo Missions, pictures, and we also have a section that is not on any other Apollo Hoax website. We have a section with TONS of e-mail addresses of people who believe in the hoax, including Bill Kaysing's e-mail address, and Bart Sibrel, the creator of "A funny thing happened on the way to the moon." I would love to have you come see the website.

I would also love to get e-mails from all of you, if you are a believer in the hoax and would like to ask me questions or anything, or even if you think that we did go to the moon, I would love to hear what you have to say so I can set you straight on some matters. If you have any questions, comments, or anything like that, just e-mail me at Jons4God@aol.com or IM me at either Jons4God or NASAmoonedUs. Thanks!
