Summary: Three Tales Tied Loosely Together
Review: Considering that this "movie" is actually a combination of three stories originally produced for an "Atlantis" cartoon that never came to fruition, I find it to be unfair to judge these adventures as one whole. Instead, I'll give a brief review of each of the three adventures and then summarize the entire movie.
First off, we have Milo, Kida and the gang tackling the mighty Kraken. No, it isn't the Kraken you may remember from "Clash Of The Titans," but a sea-dwelling demon who wreaks havoc in the seas and possesses a small village. The story is probably the best of the three. It is quickly paced and has pretty good development.
The second story is rather boring. It takes place in the American Southwest. A band of "dust coyote spirits" have attacked one of the locals who happens to have found some ancient pottery. Milo's team has to figure out why the "coyotes" are attacking the locals and put a stop to them. The ending of the tale is rather brilliant, but not enough to save this chapter of the entire film.
The final story nods its hat toward Norse mythology. It features a man wanting to destroy the current world and rule over a newer, better one. Of course, he can't do this as a mere mortal, so he uses a spear that is magically inclined and becomes "Odin." If you know anything about Norse mythology, you know that Odin is similar to Zeus, only he rules the cold north. Once again, Milo and his crew have to save the day.
So what ties all of these little adventures together? Atlantis, of course. Using a mythology that ties just about every culture together, we find through these three tales that Atlantis is the center of the cultural universe. In other words, all gods come from Atlantis, and their powers are all knowing and all caring when placed into the hands of the right individuals. It looks like Kida and Milo and his team are the folks intended to control all of this power.
These tales aren't as horrible as others have stated. They just have to be looked at as individual stories and I'm sure you'll get more enjoyment out of them. If you have young sons in your family, they'll probably get the most enjoyment out of this movie. Much like its predecessor, it relies on mythology and technology to move the story along. Those are two things that keep small children(8 and under)from getting to interested in this movie.
In all honesty, I'd rent this before buying it. If your kids enjoy it, then you may consider investing in it.

Summary: An average Disney sequel
Review: First of all, this one of those 3 episode things that Disney throws out as sequels. I, being a kid, don't much care about this one way or the other, though I prefer whole movies. I even liked Tarzan and Jane, which everyone else seems to have hated. Back to the point here, the story separation isn't nearly as bad. The voices are almost all the same, except Milo, (his replacement voice doesn't sound too bad, though) and of course, Cookie (the guy who voiced him died). The animation is like that of an animated series (from which I think the 3 episodes were taken from). Some may scoff at the idea of them having a cute animal along for the ride, but in this one there is this thing named Obby that they call a lava-dog, who is essentially Milo and Kida's pet. He is a very funny character, and I wish he was in the first one. About the stories, all three of them are very strange. The are all I suppose from a Atlantis animated series (that would be interesting) which has not or will not go on the air (I read that somewhere). All in all, it is an average Disney sequel.

Review: First off, Atlantis was probably the worst movie in history and now Disney is making as sequel!? And I think Disney must have copied the name for the giant octopus because "Kraken" is Octopus in German.

Summary: This movie was better than what people give it credit for.
Review: I am 15 years old (16 in august 2004). I enjoyed the movie. Even though one actor died and they could not rehire the another, thier voices almost matched. Even though the animation was made for Atlantis: The T.V. Series, the animation was still good! The only thing I did not like, was the plot progression, it went too quickly. Besides that, it was still was a great movie!

Summary: Only a Video Release
Review: I bought this DVD. I do like Disney cartoons, but I'm also a big Anime fan. I did buy Treasure Planet, Spirit Stallion of the Cimmeron, and Spirited Away. I have a whole list of collections of cartoons, but I have to admit the original theatrical movie is much better than the video release sequal.First of all the characters look very different. For a 2 hour movie, they put three different adventures into it. They should have just kept the story to one big adventure. Also, I'm not too sure but the voice actors might also be different. There is definitely a lack of a evil villan in this sequal. I would not recommend this dvd. I would prefer you buy the new release of Star Trek Nemesis instead. It just also came out at the same time.

Summary: Whoever wrote this movie should quit the film industry!
Review: I don't expect much from Disney's straight-to-video sequels, but this one has simply got to be the worst of them all. First off, this film has absolutely NOTHING to do with the city of Atlantis. Instead, it focuses on three separate and unrelated "mysteries" that have an eerie resemblance to episodes of Scooby Doo. All the characters return and Kida decides to see what it's like on the surface. She's supposed to go and help, but all she does is dally around being stupid. Her involvement has nothing to do with the movie until the end. This movie is only a mere 80-minutes, but after the first 45, I was ready for this film to end. Bottom line, it's hard to believe that the writers at Disney Television can lack the imagination and creativity to make a movie that's even a little bit worthwhile. I seriously could've come up with a better story....one that's about Atlantis! Avoid this at all costs!!

Review: I really liked the first one of these and got excited about the second, but its just lame. the characters don't even look the same ( or have the same voices ) and its just horrible. Looks like some crappy tv show or something bad dunno. not worth more then 3 dollars. lol

Summary: Good but not as good as the first movie
Review: I was surprised by this movie. It was a Disney sequel, and it was not awful. It was very episodic, but that was because it was made out of the only three episodes that were made for a proposed Atlantis TV series. Perhaps the most disapointing thing about this movie was that the wonderfully talented Michael J. Fox did not return as the voice of Milo. If you did not like the first film or if you thought the first film was merely average, you should not even bother buying this. If you loved the first film, you will enjoy this movie.

Summary: Maybe Milo shouldn't have come back...
Review: In "Atlantis II: Milo's Return" we are subjected to a series of loosely sewn together pieces of Disney's quickly aborted "Team Atlantis" cartoon. Due to the bomb this was in the theaters, the "Team Atlantis" cartoon never made it to the Saturday morning schedule. But that was no excuse - Disney had to use the material they made for their stillbirth somehow... Neither Milo nor Cookie have the same voices. It's doubtful whether even Disney could have come up with enough money to pay Fox to reprise his role in this sequel. The man that voiced Cookie passed away - hopefully before he could see this B-Grade monster fest. In the first of the three stories, Milo and his "Team Atlantis" (most of the characters from the original Atlantis movie) have to stop a Kraken from destroying a small village. Then, believe it or not, they all leave Atlantis to go to the American Southwest to tame a pack of Coyotes. Coyotes? I thought they could have come up with something more challenging than that... Then to top it all off, it's off to Antarctica to battle an ice monster. I almost wish they had run into something a little more life-threatening, like Lovecraft's "Old Ones". This reminded me a =lot= of the old "Scooby-Doo" mysteries, except with real monsters. You know none of the main characters will ever be killed, so there's no suspense at all. Only recommended for Disney purists.

Summary: Atlantis and all other Disney part twos
Review: It is so pathetic that a company that once had creative force would languish in part two features that are little more that the hackwork of formulaic writing followed by the reuse of animation cells. Where is the art? It seems more like the Artful Dodger whom picks your pockets clean, leaving you with a rather hollow feeling after your discovery of having been robbed. WHAT IS NEXT DISNEY? ROMEO AND JULIET PART 2 - "WE WERE JUST KIDDING!?!"
