Summary: Shadow people are spooky
Review: My two and a half year old loves bear and tutter and the other characters, but is absolutely terrified of the shadow people. The black cut-out characters on the wildly colored backround are bold, but that's not what's most frightening -- it's the resemblance to Bevis and Butthead some of them have: the evil, nasty smirks. The fact that they jump around on the screen and make crude jerky movements just intesifies the creepy factor. The first time I put the video on I wasn't really watching it with my daughter, and suddenly she was crying hysterically in fear. For weeks she wanted nothing to do with the video, but after awhile she forgot, and now when she watches I stand by, remote in hand, to quickly forward through the scary part. If I don't there are tears. A funny show if you take out the shadow characters.

Summary: Excellent potty training starter video
Review: If you are just starting to get your child associated with potty training & he/she likes Bear In The Big Blue House...this video is for your child!

It's got fun songs, a good emphasis on stopping what you are doing to go potty & all of the characters share a little bit of their thoughts of using the potty.

We also liked "Once Upon a Potty for him", based on the book by Alone Frankle (there's also a girl version). It gets right to the point with a cartoon & then actual small children dancing & singing the potty song. (you'll learn it quickly once you've heard it.)The video uses the proper names for body parts, so if you're a prude on using proper body part names, then you'll want to watch this before showing this to your child. My son started to watch this around 18 months & still likes to watch this at 3.5 yrs. old. It enforces good potty times.
Enjoy!

Summary: A little too vague
Review: The lovable characters and catchy songs will make this a favorite with almost any toddle however I wouldn't recomend it if you're looking for education as well as entertainment. Although everyone (my husband and myself included) laughs uproariously throughout the DVD my 24 mo. old daughter has no deeper understanding of potty lingo or usage.

Summary: Entertaining, Not Instructional...
Review: My children are avid watchers of Bear, however, the content of this video was "beyond the grasp" of my 22 mos. old daughter...the language was too involved and difficult for her to follow, as far as an instructional tool...she was thoroughly entertained by Bear and all his friends, as always, however, this video did not prove effective as a potty training tool for her...Highly recommend "Once Upon A Potty: For Her" Video, though...language is much more simplified and she seemed to grasp the concept immediately, as well as being entertained by the characters, story and songs...

Summary: Single Funnest thing that I have ever seen
Review: I saw this on TV while channle surfing, and I have never laughed so hard in my life.

I am sure that it is a useful tool for helping a young one learn to use the potty, but I dare you to try and watch this video by yourself, or with some friends.

Summary: great for introducing the idea of potty training
Review: This video is excellent. It has great songs and my son is mesmorized by it. It covers many different potty issues in a positive 'non-scary' way. It has been very helpful in warming him towards the idea of the potty.

Summary: Great! Simply Great!
Review: Leave it to the Disney folks to make this terrific video. It make the subject of potty time very toddler friendly. My son LOVES Bear in the Big Blue House, and this video, looks just like any other great Bear show, with of course the topic being the potty. It is handled so well! It is presented as a very natural thing everyone does. I highly recommend this!

Summary: not enough "potty" time
Review: This video is cute and it talks about different aspects of the issue, which is good, but it's also the problem - too much talking about it, and not enough demonstration. My son just turned 2, and is in the very early stages of training. He needs to see how to do it, not listen to animals TALK about doing it. Perhaps this video would be good for kids who are further into the process and just need encouragement to continue, but I don't recommend it for beginning training when kids need visual reinforcement for what they see Mom and Dad doing.

Summary: Great "First Time" Potty Video!!
Review: I have a son who is Autistic and he loves this video! I did one better.. I went and bought the book as well. After watching the video and reading the book to my son. Ryan took his book to the potty and he sat on the potty and when he was finished.. put his arm up and said, "I did it"! I almost started to cry! I love that they remind about the potty "do's"... washing hands, flushing the toilet and that it's okay to ask for help. The video was never dull and kept Ryan's attention. He really enjoyed the songs and all the characters. Whether you have a child with special needs or a typical child.. I think this video is worth buying.

Summary: WHERE IS THE TOILET?
Review: I watched over 20 minutes of the this video and did not see one single toilet (my daugther even asked me, 'where is the potty?')! There were no bears/children demonstrating how to go potty, no bathroom, and the low voice and language which the bear uses is *not* aimed at toddlers. Please do not buy this video...you will probably be very disappointed. I've heard that the boy/girl potty videos are much better.
