Summary: Not as good as the old...not that the old was that good!
Review: In general, I have said that there are some benefits to the baby einstein series. When in desperate need of a 30 minute babysitter, the vidoes generally do the trick - at least until your baby turns around 1. After that, they need a bit more to occupy them. Especially since Disney came along to Baby Einstein, the videos have now even lost their quirkiness. In general, it was always upsetting to me to see so many titles with "Einstein", "Genius", or "Smart" in the titles, when really the videos are just random images that hypnotize babies. Even the music is synthesized which hardly counts as utilizing the Mozart Effect (which really should use real instruments/orchestras). Some options are Juno Baby and, if you have the time, Fantasia - one of my favorites! Fantasia is LONG but in doses seems much more beneficial if you're after the Mozart Effect. If you're after the whole lot (shapes, counting, Mozart Effect, characters), go with Juno Baby...but they only have one video and aren't that easy to find yet. There are a few others out there that are just plain old awful...try to avoid them at all costs!
Or, if you do have the time, it's better to interact with your baby, perhaps while listening to classical music. Just getting some little drums or tambourines out is cute and might even help teach a bit of rhythm and timing. Anyway, I do understand the need for some of these videos. I'd just rather choose some options that have a better chance of stimulating.

Summary: Great for my Grandson!!!!!!!
Review: My 1 year old granson absolutely loved Baby McDonald. Of course I feel it is very important to interact with your child while viewing these videos/DVDs. It kept his full attention for the duration. This is a great learning tool for infants and toddlers.

Summary: Old MacDonald is a big Hit
Review: My 20 month old son loves this DVD. We got him the 10 pack when he was about 6 months old and he just adored them. His favorite for a long time was Baby Newton. He just loves animals and his vocabulary is growing, and since watching this video, he can now say "Pig", "Horse", and "Cow", and can do most of the animal sounds. It's a great DVD and I would recommend it for any child that likes animals.

Summary: great!
Review: my 20-month-old is obsessed with animals, so we decided to try this one out. needless to say, she definitely liked it. i do think it's a possibility that younger ones might not follow it as well because it does require a bit more concentration than the others, but it does a great job introducing the life on the farm, and even the littlest ones will like the animals and the puppet shows. i think this is one they won't outgrow anytime soon. anyway, my daughter is really at the stage now where she can comprehend a good bit, and loves her fisher price little people farm, so with her this dvd was a big hit. i think her absolute favorite though is the numbers nursery dvd. :) overall, a wonderful way to teach little ones about the farm life and animals!

Summary: Baby Einstein-Baby MacDonald
Review: My 23 month old daughter absolutely loves watching this show as well as Neighborhood Animals. It has really encouraged her to make animal sounds, point and name each one and sing a cute version of e-i-e-i-o with hers being "e-o"
This is definitely one of her faves as well as ours.

Summary: Not as good as Neptune
Review: My 23mo son grew up with these videos and his favorite is Neptune. So when I saw a new one, I had to get it for him. I bought this for him at [another retail store] and he is not very impressed with this one. It is cute...but it lacks something. The music isn't as upbeat as in Neptune. He became bored very quickly and that is very unusual. It is cute, educational and does a cute Old McDonald, but is a little too mellow. I am not saying your child won't like it, every child is different. I am just saying that it didn't catch the undivided attention of my son. I am buying it for by best friend's little boy that practically lives on a farm...I know he will get a kick out of it.

Summary: e-i-e-i-OH what a wonderful video!
Review: My 9 month old daughter LOVES this video. She will sit entranced while it plays, rarely even looking up when I enter the room. The combination of real animals and puppets keeps her attention the entire time. The DVD has a repeat play feature - this alone is worth the extra cost over a VHS tape.

Summary: a new classic
Review: my daughter and I began singing the 'Old MacDonald' song about a week before we got the video. When I played the video and the song began, she immediately began to look at me and smile. 'The Farmer in the Dell' song also captures her attention. This is my daughter's favorite video since Baby Galileo and Baby Van Gogh (Van Goat!), and mine, too. Regardless of Disney's intervention, of which one reviewer griped, I find this video to be very entertaining and educational.
