Summary: #1 on My DVD Wishlist
Review: When I bought my DVD player, I was asked by the sales person which DVD would I like to own. It was instantaneous, I told him "Willow". Since then I have tried to get it. Willow is the type of movie that is for the young at Heart, it has all the ingredients of good old fashioned fantasy adventure. I reckon the guys who made this movie should be the ones to make the Narnian Choronicles.

Cheers

Summary: I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I have and always will
Review: This was my favorite movie as a kid, and I finally decided to buy it. It is a funny, adventurious, romantic, amazing story and movie. I strongly recommend it to Star Wars fans because its pretty much the same thing except in a midevil, fantasy time instead of a spacy, futuristic time. Its not the same in a bad way, but if you think that Star Wars is cheesy and stupid than don't get it. I personally love both Lucas films, but Willow even more. OK . . . honostly I think that even if you don't like Star Wars you should buy Willow because its just a good movie to have in the house, you know to watch when there is nothing else to do. Willow is an all round great movie for all ages, buy it!

Summary: A realm where evil cannot touch.........................
Review: .....except for the evil sting of the critics! What can I say that has not already been said in this review forum. This is a great movie that has never gotten the respect that it deserves. I never understood why WILLOW was always referred to as a Star Wars [take-off] because in my opinion, it is unlike anything ever attempted. The story is great, the effects are fantastic (even by todays standards), the performances are good, and Ron Howards direction is splendid. This definitely needs to be released on DVD. I have the widescreen laserdisc and it is just beautiful! Forget the pan and scan versions, wait on the DVD. Hopefully, Lucasfilm will give it an all-star treatment complete with audio commentary, original trailers, and deleted scenes. I would give my right arm to see the scene with the boy in the lake that becomes a monster. Willow uses the magic acorn to turn the monster into stone (which would use up all three acorns instead of just two)! One of my favorite characters in the movie is Sorsha, played by the beautiful Joanne Whalley. Both she and Val Kilmer married after completing this movie. I hope we don't have to wait for a re-release to much longer, for it is way overdue!

Summary: Highly imaginative story and visuals make it enjoyable.
Review: Dark and mysterious at times, dashing and warlike in others, Willow is a stark example of the attempts to bring fairytale-ish stories to the big screen. This one is a success. When a Daikini baby washes onto the riverbank in a Peck village, Willow Ufgood is elected by his town to return the baby to its own land. Making his way with four others, he comes across a drifter by the name of Madmartigan, who later opts to help him in his quest to return the child. Willow later learns that the baby is destined to bring about the downfall of a powerful queen who rules with an iron fist over all of the land. The settings of this film, especially those located in the mountainous regions crossed by Willow and his troop, are visceral and magnificent, and combined with the moving score from James Horner make it even more enjoyable. While some material in this film may be a little harsh for young children (it would seem that this age group is the prime target), as a whole, it does not fail to please.

Summary: "...so, which way do we go?...THAT WAY!"
Review: An astounding cinemagraphic masterpiece with scenes ranging from the tiny huts in the lush forest of the nelwin village, crossing breathtaking canyons, through intricate medieval set designs at the battle of Tir Azleen, action scenes on the snow covered tundra, riding through ice caverns on the shield of a Nockmar soldier, climaxing at the precipice with the manacing castle of the evil Queen Bavmorda. Accompanied by a brilliant musical score composed by James Horner that perfectly accompanies each scene ranging from triumphal adventure themes to those of mystical wonder. Not to mention a great cast of characters, from miniature brownies, to nelwins, to daikinis; all are clothed with amazing costume design that perfectly complement the characters in this great adventure. Action, adventure, comedy, romance...Willow has it all! Expect nothing less from this Lucasfilm production. So what's taking so long with the re-release on DVD? Did Queen Bavmorda banish it to the deserted island with Fin Razelle?

Summary: Can't wait for the DVD!
Review: This is probably one of the best movies out there. It is the classic tale of good and evil set on a mysterious, magical almost medieval land. I can't believe this movie got such horrible reviews when it first came out. It is great for all ages (although a bit intense for children) and a definite classic. It is one of those movies that sparks many imaginations. Now, all we need is a re-release especially in DVD. Why are we waiting?

Summary: More please...
Review: Willow mesmerizes! This beautiful film is a delight for the whole family; my three nelwyns loved it. I highly recommend a re-issue of this film...rarely does one partake in such a visual feast! Willow is far more ambitious than other favorites in this genre; if you enjoyed films like Legend, Labyrinth, or Dark Crystal..this is a must see!

Summary: An Excellent movie!
Review: I can't get enough of this movie - every time I see it I only love it more. The characters are very enjoyable and well played - particularly Willow, the Nelwyn unsure of his own ability who must find it within himself to save a child and prevent an evil sorceress from taking over everything. This is a great movie for all ages - although as a child the first five minutes did frighten me. I highly reccomend this movie. It has everything: action, adventure, drama, humor and beautiful scenery.
