Summary: The Garbage Begins Here...
Review: Congratulations customer, if have indeed, purchased all four seasons of Transformers: Generation One, and all three seasons of Beast Wars, then I would kindly suggest you leave this page now, and wait for Beast Machines Season One
Transformers: Armada is no stranger to public scrutiny, it is filled to the brim with dodgy animation mistakes that make Generation One's animation goofs look like kindly pranks pulled by God.
It features a cast of courageous Autobots forced to babysit three annoying, irritable, badly written child characters (you know who I'm talking about: Alexis, Rad, and Carlos), and presents to the viewer a concept that is presented on screen as a Pokemon re-hash so utterly obvious, you'd wonder why they did'nt slap a price tag on the screen every time a new Mini-con was detected, confronted, and captured.
Set in a new, alternate continunity (which is just as well) this box set contains the first episodes of Armada, these episodes, only three of which offer anything that represents something with substance, is filled with repetitive fodder, basically, the concept is this
1. The Autobots detect a Mini-Con
2. Kids come along despite Prime's objections
3. Deceptacons fight Autobots for possesion of Mini-Cons
4. Kids state the obvious
5. Kids get in the way
6. Mini-Con displays it's power, or helps the kids when they find themselves in troube.
7. Mini-Con joins Autobots or Deceptacons
This EXACT premise is showcased more than ten times, and with erach episode you watch, the more you become impaitent for anything new or exciting to happen.
Luckily, episodes like "Vacation" (which, if anything, showcases that Alexis has emotional deapth as a character, something that would make Box Set volume 2 of this series much more appealing) and "Chase" (which also sets up The Unicron Wars in Armada Box Set 2) are divine cases to watch the series, but you can easily find them through other means and other sources without wasting your money on the insepid junk that comes with those episodes.
In terms of a step down in quality of Transformers, THIS series ranks amongst the biggest crimes to ever befall Transfans

Review: I am rather pleased with this set, my only gripe is the way the DVD is set up in its cases. I find it a little confusing.All and all Armada is good, but I am looking forward to the second half of this series. My favourite Episode of this set is Rebellion.

Summary: A little bit of old school with the new makes it awesome!!!
Review: I grew up and now proudly own Transformers Gen 1 collection. With Armada it introduces the "minicons" very powerful little robots that add power to the already powerful Autobots and Decepticons. I did not finish watching this series, but am looking foward for season 1 part 2 box set. Higlights from this series, well I think the showing of old school transformers in a cameo way for example like Hound, Ramjet(I believe it was him) and numerous that I could not make out was excellent. also the introduction of Scavenger, Thrust, Star Saber, Sky Boom Shield, the powerlinx technique and many more fun things. It is good for your kids and for those guys my age that are whinning and complaining about it...get over it let your kids enjoy something new and stop trying to compare Generation 1 with all the other Transformers that come out. Good job to Rhino and stop taking too long and keep bringing more Transformers, perharps headmasters? beast wars neo?

Summary: Not THAT bad...
Review: I'm a 34 year old Transformers fan and will always hold up the G1 series (especially Season 1) as a prime example of the perfect interpretation of those "robots in disguise". Taking this into account, I was suprised to find myself enjoying ARMADA as much as I did. While I acknowledge the problems that TF ARMADA had, I will always prefer it over the newer incarnation, ENERGON.
For a start, the earlier episodes are more episodic and can be viewed individually. The ongoing arc of ENERGON is frustrating and doesn't hold the interest, so the single story format is a welcome reminder of those old G1 days. Secondly, the human cast is infinitely preferably to the despicable "KICKER" in Energon. Sure, the trio of kids in ARMADA grate at first, but RAD and ALEXIS become more tolerable as the series progresses (The same can't be said for the annoyingly voiced CARLOS, but two out three isn't bad!) and they contribute to the overall plot better than their ENERGON counterparts (ie: Not too much). I also much prefer the traditional animation to the CGI/cel combination of ENERGON, and the characters themselves (although there are fewer) have far better voices.
I must warn new viewers that the early episodes of this series are POOR! The opening three parter is distinctly lacking actual TRANSFORMERS themselves (especially part 1, "First Encounter"), but a few more episodes into the season the pace is picking up and the character count is increasing. The arrival of SCAVENGER and SIDEWAYS at around the half-way point marks a considerable improvement in the proceedings and ARMADA actually became (for me anyway) a show that I began to look forward to each day.
GIve it a go - There will NEVER be a show to rival the brilliance of GENERATION 1 during it's heyday (At least until this habit of importing & dubbing Japanese cartoons dies down) so if you accept that then ARMADA won't seem too bad! Later episodes relied too heavily on space-bound stories and the dreaded story arcs began to emerge, but here at least we have a charming and fun series that should be viewed with the right attitude.

Review: it begun when i was 14, it's really emotional and it has a lot of action and adventure.
i like starscream & hotshot, cauz they have been my fav voice actors since they started transformers.
Michael & Brent have a reallity kind of thing feels like it's real.
Anyway, the shows original thing is the Battle between the autobots and the decipticons, they all are behind some mini-cons who could give them power and control over the universe.
decipticons want the mini-cons for bad reasons, when optimus prime and the team wants them for world peace.
and now the battle begins, and this is rockkie, someone is the real enemy, and now, the bots and the cons have to work together.
so congratulations Mini-cons cauz no more fights.
in Energon congratulations Gary & David cauz your roles are back.

Summary: Taking Transformers in a new direction
Review: Transformers: Armada introduced a bold new direction in the Transformers legacy.
While Robots in Disguise offered fans a complete reboot of the Transformers Universe, Armada offered some continuity and throwbacks to previous generations. It was because of this direction that I was drawn back to Transformers and its mythology.
This is the first cartoon series since G1 that Optimus Prime has been featured as a tractor trailer truck. Other G1 characters have received updates, like Jetfire, featured as a space shuttle, Red Alert, featured as the Autobot Medic/Security Officer who transforms into an emergency SUV, and even Starscream is featured as the second-in-command of the Decepticons, transforming into a jet with two large cannons.
The G1 throwback I found to be the most exciting about this series was that even the Mighty Unicron was resurrected for this series.
Set sometime in the future, the Transformers discover the power of the Mini-Cons, and set out to obtain the miniature robots that can increase their power. Whichever side becomes more powerful via the Mini-Cons has the power to win the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The twist is, that the only earthlings who know that the Transformers are on Earth are Rad, Carlos, and Alexis, three kids who find the first hibernating Mini-Con and witness a battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Although this series can be a little campy at times, it is a great addition to the Transformers storyline, featuring a lot of great throwbacks and references to previous generations. As the series goes on, it gets better and better, with the storylines becoming deeper and more involved.
I'm looking forward to part 2!!!

Summary: A new look on an old favorite.
Review: Unlike most people my age, having grown up with generation one, I feel that each new encarnation is just as exciting as the oringinal. I really prefer the format of a continuing story arc rather than the hum drum bordom of the single story arc used in generation one. The influence of Japananese animation is apparent and welcomed (why should we be so conceited to think that our way is the best way??). I'm excited that I can sit down with my children and watch a show that's "new" to them, but still familiar to me.
