Summary: Classic family film from 1986
Review: This is a little, unassuming 60-minute low-budget family film made in 1986. Essentially, it is the story of a creative young boy who can't quite figure out grown-ups or the school bully. When his Teddy Bear comes to life one day, however, he soon goes on a series on learning expeditions and realizes what it is to be an adult and even realizes why the bully is so full of anger (he's mistreated at home). I've always been particularly impressed by the way this film handles the whole school bully aspect, and unlike some films which stage elaborate revenge stunts or something foolish like that, this movie's central character tries to find out why the angry boy acts the way he does. This is a feel good '80s film for families, certainly, but it stands up well to the test of time. This DVD edition has pretty good picture quality (some grain, but nothing too bad) and decent audio. There are no extras, but it is also not very expensive. A fine alternative for young kids, and a great way to learn about the world around them...
