Review: Few weeks ago I have found this film available on Amazon. Today I have finally received my DVD and it truly made my day. Thank you Amazon!!!
Tri Orisky Pro Popelku is one of my favourite movies of all times. I have seen it many times and will watch it again and again... I grew up in the Czech Republic and was lucky to see all the magical fairytales my country has to offer. I recommend this movie to everyone especially to all of you who have a little bit of a kid left in you....
I call this movie a "true fairytale", it is way better then cartoons or most of the children programs you see on the tely...I just wish there was more Czech movies available and not just drama, but comedy and more fairytales!!!

Summary: DVD is the best way to own this classic film
Review: Given that the film is roughly 30 years old, and no special effort was made to clean it up, the quality of this DVD is surprisingly good. The picture is bright and crisp, with flecks and scratches occasionally present but never annoyingly so. The sound is clear, but certainly not stunningly good. The subtitles seem to be reasonably good, although I intend to get feedback on these from some Czech friends. And the film itself is just as good as I remembered it from when I saw it on TV 25 years ago.

Summary: Cinderella, Girl, Archer, Princess and finally Bride
Review: I have seen this Cinderella every year on the norwegian tv and I love it. The costumes and settings are so fine and realistic and the relationship between the characters are so well done, from the inmature prince and his loving parents to the strong and tomboyish yet very feminine Cinderella.
This is a very good version of Cinderella, where she picks the prince and is very much his equal, even better in shooting.

Review: I love this film, I remember seeing it when I was a little girl in the Czech Republic. It frustrates me that now the only films that make it over to the US from the czech republic are usually Dramas, you do not see the rest of the creative films, especially not the fantastic, unique, and most beautiful traditional fairy tales Czechs have made movies of. The language track on this film is not synchronized with the lip movements, but if I remember correctly, it never was =P. It is not correctly translated, the humor especially the retors between the prince and his friends and cinderella are not, in real life they are much more spunky, sarcastic, and in some parts untranslatable because the humor is czech like the part where the prince asks if cinderella would marry him and she does not say yes, the prince says 'you wouldn't throw the basket at me would you?' Back home this is an old saying that sounds much better said in czech.
To me this has always been in large part what the real cinderella story is, where cinderella gets the dresses from three nuts.
I also enjoy this movie because of Gott doing the singing, I love the singing he did for "Vcelka Maja" another great czech character.
All I can say is, YES, thank you for getting this film available on DVD, do this for more Czech films. And make it availble in more DVD zone formats.

Review: The title of this version actually translates as <i>Three Chestnuts for Cinderella</i>, a reference to the three magic chestnuts that bring her three magical gifts, including the dress for the ball where the prince first notices her beauty.In this version, Cinderella is no singing wallflower. Here, she's played more age-appropriate for the setting -- whereas the Disney version would have you see her as being in perhaps her early twenties, here we see Cinderella as a precocious teenager who hasn't outgrown a tomboyish streak. She is a fireplug, full of guile and wit, who shows that she is quite capable of making a fool of the young prince, who in turn is portrayed as a typical teenager who would rather go hunting with his friends than attend to his lessons or host a ball. The film stars Libuse Safrankova, who was absolutely lovely as Cinderella. If you are a fan of Czech films, you might remember a more grown up Safrankova in the Jiri Menzel film, <i>My Sweet Little Village</i>, or as Zdenek Sverak's girlfriend in <i>Kolya</i>. She is a fine actress, but I think that everyone who is familiar with her role as Cinderella has a special affection for her. One of the other appealing aspects of this film is the music from Czech tenor Karel Gott. The music borders on the kitschy, but it never goes so far overboard as to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I highly recommend it.

Review: This is a classic! Miles ahead of the Disney version. And a heroine for the ages. This should be in every collector's library. Charming.
