Review: Ever since I was a young boy, I awaited Christmas for many reasons. The greatest reason was simply the celebration of the season and the celebration of it's true meaning. The heart of this meaning is found in this little movie. It warms me to even think of it! How I wish I could escape to a little hollow were everyone knows everybody else- and the worse society has to offer is a band of young people who turn out not to be too bad at all. It is a great escape. As chuck would say, "I didn't love it- I LOOOOOOOVED it!" Check Chuck, me too!

Summary: Cherished family tradition - a gem to pass on
Review: Emmet Otter is not only a holiday tradition but its lessons of life -- even its catch-phrases -- have become part of our lives ("Oh, Emmet, that's about the nicest present anyone ever tried to give me!"). We have bought copies for all our children and grandchildren in hopes that some of the values -- love, hope, willingness to take chances in life, particularly for others -- embodied in this tale (a la O. Henry's story, "Gift of the Magi") will become part of their lives also. Although we have grown and changed with the years, the story continues to speak to us on all levels. If you cherish your family, you owe it to make this little gem part of your own traditions -- holiday or not.

Review: I had taped this off of HBO many, many years ago and have watched it every time Christmas rolls around. I panicked last month after I had realized I lost my copy when I moved to another town. Thank God that I tried to look it up online and found that it was for sell! Thanks Amazon, for letting me continue a cherished family tradition.

Every year around the Holidays, I start thinking about this wonderful movie that I used to watch on HBO about 15-20 years ago. I always wondered where I could get a copy of Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, and It finally dawned on me. Check Amazon! Thank You!!!!

Summary: A meaningful and moving Christmas story
Review: My sister, brother and I never missed this Muppet special when it used to air in the 70's. It remains a family favorite to this day, thanks to Nickolodeon re-runs and this edited-but-still-viable video copy. Emmet and his mother would like to "just once," have a "store-bought" Christmas for each other. In our materialistic culture, the love these characters have for each other and their pleasure in the small wonders of life are a lesson to us all. The sweet-faced animal characters, their beautiful voices, and the message about true giving make this a fun and very meaningful holiday special. Thanks to Russell and Lillian Hoban, who wrote the wonderful book upon which this is based, and to Jim Henson and Paul Williams for bringing it to life. They've given us a great gift, and I can't wait to share it with my own children someday. "Like a flower that has blossomed / In the dry and barren sand / We are born, and born again, most gracefully / So the winds of time will take us / With a sure and steady hand / When the river meets the sea."

Review: I still love this movie! There are very few movies from my childhood that I can still watch and enjoy. I first saw this movie when I was 2 years old. Now 22 years later I bought it for my 2 year old daughter to watch. It is truely a classic for the whole family to enjoy.

Review: I absolutely adore this movie. My mother and I used to watch it every Christmas on HBO when I was younger. I'm 27 years old now. I bought the video by chance. I was in a music/video store and as I was walking out I happened to see it. Of course, I had to get it. This movie will make you cry and laugh. When I have children this will be a tradition in my home every year.
