Summary: Best viewed under the influence
Review: The Wiggles series of videos will doubtless become cult classics; they have the right combination of cheesy earnestness, low budget, and surreality. If you took four thirtysomething Australian dads, got them stinking drunk on Foster's and made them watch Barney reruns interspersed with Monty Python, the result would be this video. Having said that, my two-year-old loves them and tries to mimic their dance movements. And you could do worse than to show a child a video with such subversive messages as "eat fruit salad," "walk and run a lot" and "keep moving." It's just that to this US Midwestern suburban mom, there's something Just Plain Wrong about four Aussies singing "Hevenu Shalom Aleichem," not to mention the surreal Wiggle Puppets singing "Point Your Finger" in high-pitched chipmunk voices. I'd suggest a Wiggles Drinking Game, but that's probably going too far for most parents...

Summary: Yummy Yummy is Scrumptious
Review: Greg, Anthony, Murray, and Jeff are full of energy and vitality. The video is full of bright colors and constant movement. Sometimes we use it as a children's workout video. My son loves to dance along with The Wiggles. I highly recommend this video to anyone, even if you have children.

Review: I purchased this tape after having such success with the WiggleTime. My 19 month old son now dances and tries to sing along to some of the songs. My six month old watches intently, kicking her leg to the music. These men have brought so much energy into my home...a day does not go by without watching or listening to this talanted group! Thanks for the enjoyment!!!!

Summary: It's time to WIGGLE!!
Review: This is an absolutely terriffic video. My 3-year-old son was introduced to the Wiggles by a friend of mine who is from Australia, and the minute I found I could get the Wiggles on Video I bought this one. My son adores the Wiggles. Most videos he's willing to just sit through, but this one keeps him up and moving. He can sing along to nearly every song, and tries to imitate the dancing (and Paul the cook!). We almost live for when the next video is released, so that we can watch something new (Yummy Yummy is his favorite, but he loves them so much that ANY video is terrific). I recommend this and ALL of the Wiggles videos. Even my husband and I love them. I only wish they came in DVD format, so that we didn't have to worry about wearing out the tape.

Summary: The Wiggles--Yummy Yummy
Review: I first saw The Wiggles at the beginning of a Barney tape and they sang Quack Quack. My 9 month old loved it. I purchased Wiggle Time which he loved. The songs were upbeat and he would watch the entire show without moving. I purchased Yummy Yummy thinking it would be just as upbeat but the songs were not as good. They were slow and some of the words didn't fit the music. Also, ..., the puppets are scary.

Summary: Fascinates toddlers and shouldn't annoy adults
Review: My wife and I first encountered The Wiggles in a short ad before a Barney video. They performed one song - "The Monkey Dance" - with a lot of kids dancing in front. It first attracted our interest because our nearly three-year-old daughter would leap to her feet and dance along, a marked contrast to her passive viewing of most other videos. We noticed that the song was pretty good too. My wife later saw the video in a store and bought it, and we are very glad she did. The songs are well done, catchy, varied, and singable. You WILL find the songs stuck in your head all day, but they are good enough so you shouldn't mind too much. The lead singer has a very nice voice and a friendly, warm, gentle charisma about him. The other three "Wiggles" and their supporting cast are good too. The dances have simple moves that appear to be inspired by aerobics, easy for kids to imitate. Almost all the speaking is done directly into the camera, which really helps draw kids in and keep their attention. There is not much "educational" content as in some other children's videos, the songs are more-or-less nonsense, but the exercise factor more than compensates - our daughter stays on her feet for most of the show.A few warnings: - The first couple of times we watched it my wife and I were not enthusiastic. We could tell our daughter loved it, but we couldn't believe four grown men would do this stuff. (Of course, kids love to see grown-ups doing silly things.) But the more we watched it the more we appreciated it, until now we really enjoy watching it with her. - Two of the songs are done with puppets instead of the live performers. The puppets are somwhat macabre, with huge staring eyes. The audio is sped up for these songs to give an "Alvin and the Chipmunks" sound. One of the songs is done in front of a psychedelic background of colored lights. The overall effect is weird. Our daugter doesn't like the puppets much, one of the songs she just tolerates, the other she usually makes me fast forward through because the puppets are "a little bit scary". - The performers are all Australians, with Australian accents. However they speak quite clearly and we all, including our daughter, can understand them without any trouble. We view this as an advantage, introducing the concept that not all people speak the same way. - The performances are all lip-synched with simulated playing of instruments. The sound is dubbed in later (by the same performers, as far as I know). I assume they did this because it is difficult to get clear sound while your are doing vigorous dance moves. This is mildly annoying to adults, probably unnoticable to kids.

Summary: Get rid of the Puppets!!!! Please!!!!!
Review: Our first Wiggles tape was very well received by our 20 month old son. I bought the second tape (to prevent burn out) The Wiggles - Yummy, Yummy. He loved everything except the puppets... way to scary!!!! He cries when the puppets come on. The spinning colors and puppets look like a BAD-ACID trip. I couldnt' blame him... I was a little taken back myself. The puppets look really demonic!!!! I and my son love The Wiggles... but please, no more puppets!!!

Summary: Great Singing and Music (plus Puppet Warning)
Review: The most notable aspect of The Wiggles is their talent for writing songs. The singing is good, the songs are performed well, and the tunes are catchy. Although the songs tend to stick in your head relentlessly, they are actually musically good enough that they aren't going to drive you as insane as say, Barney. Still, be prepared to wake up at three in the morning with the Yummy Yummy theme song going through your head. This video has one song which is pretty annoying, because they altered the voices to be high-pitch and the music is sort of a techno-dance theme. Plus, they use puppets of the Wiggles to perform this piece, against a backdrop of psychadelic patterns. It's pretty annoying, but the rest of the video is fine. Of course, my two-year-old loves the annoying part anyway. My two-year-old loves the music and dancing. My six-month-old loves to watch the funny faces and interesting characters in the videos.

Summary: Wonderful Wiggles
Review: My 21 month old daughter just loves this video!! She dances and already knows words to 2-3 songs and we've only had it a week! She does not usually enjoy videos very much, just watches for a few seconds and gets bored and this one has held her interest very well. I also really like the action; there are movements to each song that really make the kids (and adults!) get up and dance instead of being a couch potato. I highly recommend it!!

Summary: ~The Wiggles make Us Giggle~
Review: I run a childcare, and I saw the Wiggles-Yummy Yummy advertised on a Barney video. They had such fun, snappy songs that I had to order it, and I was soooo happy I did. The children love this video and its their favorite. They love to sing and dance with the songs, but I think they giggle the loudest, when I'm dancing right along with them..... The only downside to this video is your apted to sing some of the songs in your head, but their so cute so who cares. :) I highly recommend this video for your child...
