Summary: * AWESOME MOVIE *
Review: I saw this movie Thanksgiving 2003. Everything is excellent-- like the part when the Cat in the Hat almost scares Sally Granger and Conrad Weasley. They were so frightened that they ran away. Another part was when Sally Granger was launched into the air by the box while Conrad Weasley tried to grab her from the air and lock the box at the same time. THIS MOVIE IS EXCELLENT!!

Plus, I'm making a new movie (not a sequel). It's called Harry Potter and the Cat in the Hat.

Spencer Breslin is Harry Potter.
Dakota Fanning is Ginny Weasley.
Kelly Preston is Mrs. Molly Weasley.
Lawrence Quinn is now a professor.
All the other actors stay the same.

I want a reply to my user review.

Summary: Boo
Review: Since my daughter was home for Xmas break, I thought I'd surprise the kids by taking them to see "Cat in the Hat". I truly wish I had read these reviews before plonking down my hard earned money for such a load of tripe.

Although Mike Meyers has always been one of my favorite comedians, his performance here is nothing more than a cross between SNL's Phillip (the "hyper-hypo") and Dr. Evil. No doubt the success of Ron Howard's adaptation of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" inspired Bo Welch ("Men in Black", "Primary Colors") to do the same thing with the beloved Dr. Seuss book. Ugh. Whereas Jim Carrey was effortlessly able to interject some improvisational comedy that appealed to adults, Mike Meyers' attempt heads into the raunchy department that really should have earned this film a PG-13 rating. Not only was this adult humor un-funny, it left parents with the dreaded task of having to try and explain it to their bewildered children.

The only redeeming thing this film does is bring the setting of this story to life, almost exactly as you imagined it in your head. Otherwise, this flick was just plain awful. Sexual innuendo has no place in a "children's" film. Meyers will almost definitely have to give an Oscar worthy performance in his next project to redeem himself in the eyes of the moviegoing public. "Cat in the Hat" will most likely take the place of a relieved "Ishtar" in the butt-of-movie-jokes category.

Summary: I want my money back.
Review: Mean spirited, and down right degrading adaptation to the classic children's tale not only lacks the charm of its forefather but lacks any talent what so ever. Mike Myers should not only be ashamed of himself for his horrible performance that is a clear rip off of what Jim Carry did but he should give up acting all together. He is so annoying that you would want to beat the crap out of him if you were in the film. The sets are ugly, and the cinematography is an eye sore. I have seen a lot of bad film this year, but this not only takes the cake but it is with out a doubt one the worse films ever made.

Summary: waste of time
Review: This movie is completely horrible. The script is bad, the jokes that try to appeal for adults and teens are so lame. Mike Myers isn't that great, and he was somewhat annoying in this role. The character that I liked is the fish & that's 'cause his lines were funny. "The Grinch" with Jim Carrey is much better than this movie. This movie won't appeal to the teen or adult audience. This is just a kiddie movie. They should've computer animated this movie like they did with Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Shrek. It's a shame that the movie couldn't have been much better, since its based on the classic Dr. Seuss book. Wait until the movie comes out on dvd & rent it at your local video store.

Summary: 1 star?! Yeah! NEGATIVE 1!!!
Review: This movie in one word was awful. It is filled wtih nudity, cussing the whole nine yards!! I am 16. I am used to all of the faul language and obscene crude and frankly rude "humor. If you even remotly like Dr. Suess, please do disrepsect him with this LAME, HUMORLESS, touldry trash. I'll bet that Dr.Suess' blood would be boiling, he'd be so ashamed with this "Children's movie"
Even though this made 40 million, does NOT make it a good movie, nor appropiate for children. Even Scary Movie had cleaner humor than this!! C'mon! This movie is raunchy! That all there is to it!! just plain RAUNCHY!!!

Summary: Can I give less than a star??!
Review: Okay, as you all of you parents out there probably already know, most all of the professional movie critics out there, absolutely
HATED this "Feel Good movie" movie. Well, this movie was WAY OVER RATED. Yeah, that's right! OVER rated. Now, being a six-teen year old my self, and also being a huge Mike Myers and Dekota Fanning fan, I thought that, this was sure to be a riot. You don't know how rong that I was(well, maybe you do concidering the rating that I gave this movie)But, even with their help, this "kid's moie" quote, unquote was to put in the words of Syskle and Ebert" two thumbs WAY down" This movie is full of gross and crude humor obviously gearded at young children. I mean, filled with sex jokes, sexual humor, etc. Now, Like I said before, I'm six-teen, those qualities are basically in most movies geared towards the TEEN auidence, but done SEMI-tastefully. Now, the keyword here is SEMI. I normally would not mind, but this is geared towards a young auidence. And, being young children, they are likely to repeat what they hear in movies and television. I am pretty much used to all of this type of humor, being in high school, and being a fan of both Will and Grace, Friends and Sex and The City, let's face it!! This movie makes those shows, seem like "clean" quote, unquote humor. Even Scary Movie has cleaner humor that this poor adaptation of the beloved children's author. If you even remotely care for Dr. Suess, please do not disrespect him by paying good money his own masterpiece. Not only is this movie a complete and uterly waste of talent, but more importantly, a waste of of money and a waste of couple of hours of your life as well. Parents, please ... I am begging you, do not put your children through this torture from this movie. You will thank me later!!! I would give this less than 1 star, if I would

Avoid at all costs.

Summary: THIS IS THING 1 AND THING 2 AND IM THE CAT
Review: This movie was so great!

I dont know why everyone here is cutting it down-if you want to cut down a movie playing this holiday season-cut down The Haunted Mansion-it had nothing to do with the ride-totally stupid!

Anyways The Cat In The Hat was cool-the cat was so cute-he looked like the cat should look-and Sean Hayes actually having a few scenes-well that makes it all good!

So quit cutting down this movie and go see it-cut down The Haunted Mansion instead!

Summary: Lots of laughs!
Review: I don't know what people are complaining about, this movie was a riot! I think people who didn't like this movie were just in a bad mood when they saw it. My 5 year old son liked it so much, he asked if we could see it again tomorrow. He was a bit bored for the first 5 minutes of the movie, until the Cat in the Hat showed up, but then he laughed non-stop for the rest of the movie.

Summary: The Cat in the Hay
Review: This movie is one of the worst movies I have seen. Parents, do not take your kids to this because the humor is not suited for young kids.
