Summary: The best of the Einstein series
Review: This is a great tape/DVD for parents who (this may be hard to admit) occasionally need a break from their child! I first showed this tape to my colicky baby when she was three months old. She loved it. And I nearly cried with relief. It gave me a half-hour break to go to the bathroom, put the laundry in the dryer, maybe even take a shower.

I would not recommend this tape for a child older than 1. And I would not recommend it for someone who thinks their child is actually going to learn skills from it.

I have several of the Baby Einstein tapes and this is by far the most interesting. The music is lovely and entertaining, and the shapes are fascinating for an infant to watch.

I don't buy it that the Einstein videos are something you can use to interact with your child. I'd rather interact with her while the TV is off. However, it's a great way to keep your baby entertained, and because it theoretically has some educational value, you can feel less guilty about it.

Oh, and one last comment: The CDs that come with the tapes are great for the car. The music is just interesting enough for me to bear, and the music is simple and soothing and puts my sweet baby right to sleep.

Summary: Good music but others are better!
Review: Of the Baby Einstein series this one was good just not great...I suggest the Baby VanGogh or Baby Doolittle as better choices.

Summary: 20 minutes of fun!!
Review: I bought this video for my 4mo old, after seeing it at a friend's house. He loves it!! As soon as he sees the drumming bear, he does not stop laughing and smiling for the next 20 minutes. This is the best $15 you could spend on your little one!

Summary: The Best Video
Review: I first learned of this video when I was babysitting for friends. All three kids, ages 3,2 and 6 months loved it! The next girl I babysat who was 9 months old also had the video in her home. This was the only movie or show she would watch. So when I had my 2nd child I bought it for him. This is by far his favorite movie. He is now almost 2, but at 6 months if something or someone got in his view of the T.V. while this video was on he would do everything in his power to move so that he could watch. This movie shows fun toys in action that keeps babies interest. This is now my favorite baby shower gift!

Summary: great entertainment!
Review: My baby LOVES this video, and I do too! She is 4 months old and will sit in her bouncer for 20 minutes watching this. She is so captivated by the images. Whoever thought of this really hit on something. All my friends that have this rave about it too. It is a simple idea - images including candles, toys and puppets are displayed for a few seconds. The music is upbeat but not overly stimulating.

The language part is great as I can teach her different languages for objects such as dog, cat etc. I am not partial to kids watching a lot of TV, and we don't put this on every day, but sometimes it is nice to have some 'mummy time' knowing that your baby is learning, and well entertained!

Summary: The very best!...
Review: All of the movies from this series are excellent. We started with Baby Mozart, and have quickly expanded our collection to include Baby Doolittle, Baby Newton, Baby Einstein, Baby Shakespeare, and Baby Beethoven. I keep waiting for a video in this series that our daughter won't like, and I haven't found it yet. Every day our 10 month old enjoys one of these videos, while I watch with her, fold laundry, cook dinner, or pay bills, etc. She laughs and squeals at the puppets, and even seems to hum along with the music. She's been watching them since she was two months old, and only seems to love them more as she gets older.

Summary: Buy them all...
Review: Our twin sons love the Baby Einstein movies. They are beginning to really react to the music and seem to anticipate what is coming next in the video. I hesitate to just plop the kids in front of the TV just for the sake of entertaining them, but with twins some times you've just got to do it. We will often just play the musical portions of the Bach DVD during their nap time to help mask outside noises.

Summary: Life saver
Review: This is the BEST video!! I meant to register for Baby Einstein because I had heard so much about it but scanned this by mistake. We ended up getting both and my son LOVES this one. He is not into Einstein yet but my nephew who is a little older loves it.

Summary: Great DVD
Review: I think this is a great video. I even watch the foreign language portion of it with my daughter. My daughter loves the music and colorful images. I would recommend to anyone!

Summary: Great idea, but a word of caution to very sensitive babies
Review: My son just turned one and we got him the Baby Mozart DVD. He enjoys most of it, but I have to caution those with very sensitive babies. My son freaked at a couple of the scenes the first time he watched it: the dragon handpuppet that looks into the camera and suddenly says "Blah!"; the spider that drops suddenly from the top of the screen; and the rooster that clucks with sudden jerky head movements. All of these have made my son very apprehensive, and he runs away any time ANY of the puppets come into view, even if I hold and reassure him. Even though I skip over the scary parts, my son still remembers when the dragon, spider and rooster puppets are about to come on screen and he starts to become very upset until we are past those parts of the program. Don't let that keep you from buying this, however. If you've got a sensitive baby, watch the DVD yourself ahead of time to know which parts to skip over (which is what I do now). I would give this 5 stars if not for the fact that my son gets scared in certain places. Overall, I think this is a great DVD, and most babies probably won't have any problems with it. The Mozart music is nice. The flashcards in the various languages are great. The DVD menu is a bit difficult to navigate without a 'back' option. But all in all a great find.
