Review: It seems every mother I know has a video from this collection.
I have 2, but have seen all the others time and again. Our favorites, hands down, are Van Gogh and Dolittle Neighborhood.
The others are good, too (with the exception of Baby Einstein, which is miserably boring and uneffective). The problem is that
they are all very, very similar. So you don't need but a couple.
Van Gogh does have its disadvantages, and that is that the images aren't representative of the color they are teaching.
Dolittle is great. Our triplets have been mesmorized by these
videos time and again, although I must say that they also are smitten with the Baby Know-It-All Series, and tend to interact much better with them. I would suggest the Einstein videos for baby's under one year, whereas The Wiggles and Baby Know-It-All are most suitable for 1 year and up.
As for the other videos in the series, we did not like Baby Newton--too slick, and although Shakespeare has great imagery, it only has one poem from Shakespeare and we find that disappointing on the verge of misleading.
Bach and Mozart are almost identical-better to buy a well made music cd from another company.

Summary: This delights my 18 month old
Review: My son has loved this video since we got it when he was 9 months old. I just purchased the DVD for the car, in part because I am sure we're going to wear out the video any day now!The puppets are really cute and amusing. Yeah, the poetry isn't Shakespeare, but my son smiles through it. He loves watching the children in this video and I love seeing him laugh out loud at the silliness of it all.

Review: My Daughter loved this from the moment she saw it. We first got Baby Mozart, she loved that...this is now on top of her list. She loves all the puppets. They show them quite often throughout the video. All the baby einstein dvd's are wonderful(except Bach! I don't recommend that one!!!). It is amazing how she keeps focused on these vidoes. I feel good about what's on TV for her when these videos are playing for her!!

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: My son has been watching the series from Baby Einstein since he was a few months old. This one is by far his favorite, and he loves to watch it in the afternoon or evening (it helps to calm him down, great before bedtime or a nap). He'll clap, "talk", and give huge smiles throughout the video. My wife, an early elementary teacher, was not sure if she wanted our son watching videos at first - but after seeing his joy while watching these videos, she's hooked. Still, moderation is the key - don't let these tapes/DVDs become babysitters. Overall, a wonderful selection, and worth 10x the price!

Review: I have the entire series and my daughter is absolutely fascinated by this one. She's been watching the Baby Einstein series intently since she was 3 months old and is still captivated at 11 months. Baby VanGogh is quite enjoyable for adults to watch.

Summary: great for quiet time
Review: As an early childhood educator, I've kept an eye on these videos, although we do not use them in our classes. Following the advice on some of the Listmanias, I decided to try a few videos that sounded great. My new baby girl, Teresa is 9 months old. She like this video. It is very colorful, and helpful in getting her to quiet down. The imagery is great, but it really must be used as a platform for mother-led teaching. Of the other videos I checked out from the LIstmania, Teresa and I both loved The Baby Know-It-All series. Its not as slow as these, and is a better language tool. We also tried Baby Animals. My neighbors two year old loved it, but Teresa wasn't interested in it yet. Bilingual Baby was another choice. The colors aren't as vivid as in these other series, but its great to have options on language, since we are a bilingual spanish speaking family.
Before I made my choices, however, I did watch a bit of Baby Mozart and Baby Shakespeare in the store. I found Van Gogh to be the better one, as Mozart doesn't have such great imagery, and Shakespeare's language is too complex for little ears. The Einstein one is not interesting to me at all, nor to Teresa.
She's quite stuck on Baby Know-It-All right now, she really likes watching the other kids perform, but we still watch Van Gogh toward the evening time, after a very stimulating walk through Uptown Manhattan.

Summary: great way to learn colors
Review: We have this entire series and this is one of my son's favorites--we got it when he was 2 and now that he's 2 1/2 he knows all his colors and even, weird as it sounds, recognizes Van Gogh's painting style. Good music and visuals, and he enjoys the little book that goes with it too, which consists of the color poems ("Green slithers in to make me cool/I'm floating in a still wet pool..."), Van Gogh paintings that incorporate that color (Starry Night for Blue, Sunflowers for Yellow), and a simple color drawing that illustrates the poem.

Review: My 16 month baby just received this video / book. The video has lots of slow parts with silly characters. The Book is very easily ripped and not great for little hands. My baby enjoyed it but the movie lost her interest in the slow parts.

Summary: Use this to your advantage
Review: My wife and I love this DVD. And more importantly, our daughter loves it. It's the one thing on TV that she doesn't take her eyes off of. And my wife loves putting her in her entertainment saucer in front of the show when she needs her to sit still so she can do her hair. Also, when you need 15-20 minutes for yourself, stick the baby in front of that show, and away you go.

Summary: My four kids love it
Review: I'm a mom of four - ages 7, 5, 4, and 1 - and they all enjoy this video. My youngest smiles and giggles at the music and colors. The oldest is getting exposure to Van Gogh, and the two in between love the puppets. I think its a terrific video. I bought the book that goes with it, and we all look at the pictures together. My seven year old is now familiar with the names of the famous paintings. I highly recommend this video and the book.
