Review: I love this movie. I can't imagine another holiday movie every topping how brillant this movie is. This is what Christmas is all about for most of us. At the heart of this movie it is about family. The ups and downs that all of us have gone through. I can't recommend this movie highly enough, if you have not had the chance to see it do so tonight! You will love it.

Summary: The Best Holiday Film Ever
Review: A Christmas Story is the greatest Holiday film ever made. It stands well and above every other holiday themed film. It's a true American classic in every sense of the word. Young Ralphie Parker wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas. Everyone tells him that he'll shoot his eye out. Ralphie tries everything he can to get that gun. On Christmas, Ralphie gets his wish. The people that warned him about it were also right. The film has the most believeable family. How many parents were like this?. I know of many. Peter Billingsley gives a wonderful performance as Ralphie that is cemented in stone as a film classic. Darren McGavin and Melinda Dillon as his parents are top notch. The film is hysterical and very tender and touching as well. I'd watch this movie all year round!. This isn't just a special holiday film. This movie is just special....period.

Review: Every year me and my daughter watch this movie around the Holidays and it is just as funny as the year before...The things Ralphie goes through to get the Rifle of his dreams for Christmas is hilarious..He goes to see Santa, writes the Great Essay and the sticking the pictures in between his parents favorite magazine..Im sure we all have done some of these things..Ralphie and his freinds and family give up a lot of laughs in this movie...

Summary: Ho... Ho.... Ho...
Review: It's not Christmas without this movie. Jean Shepard's childhood is narrated brilliantly - his battles with "Scutt" Farkus (and for those who insist on calling him "Scott" - read some of Shepard's earlier works for the correct spelling) and "his little toady", endless cycles of meatloaf and cabbage and, of course, THE LEG. Even the most hard-hearted of cynics are bound to get a chuckle out of Randy's strange little world ("oink, oink") and the (to say the least) rather ambivliant dime-store Santa. Ralphie's daydreams are ALMOST as funny as his reality. Not being loaded down by sugar-coated sappiness("a crummy commercial? Son of a b****!"), the characters present a realistic warmth that belies the film's wintery background. A definite must-see.

Summary: Essential Holiday Viewing
Review: A classic holiday movie in every regard. Any adult who has ever daydreamed about their favorite toy through a department store window will love this movie. The film harkens back to an earlier era, but is nonetheless timeless in its hope, spirit, humor, and enthusiasm. A terrific holiday movie, complimented by a magnificent cast, and light-hearted score, makes "A Christmas Story" essential viewing any season of the year. As a DVD, the film suffers in that it has been "formatted to fit" a standard television screen. Hopefully a letterbox version of the film will be released on DVD in the near future.

Review: This is without a doubt my Favorite Chrismas movie ever, I have seen about 80 times now. I love how TNT Shows a marathon of it at chrismas time I watch it about four times

Summary: This movie comes on T.V. too much! (but it's a good movie)
Review: A Christmas Story comes on TV like a billion times a year but it's still an O.K. flik. It's about this kid (Peter Billingsly) who wants a BB gun for Christmas. He does all this crazy stuff like visiting santa claus so he can convince everybody that he can be mature enough to own a BB gun. His mother always says he'll shoot his eye out and that annoys him. The plot for this movie is weak but it is well-acted and entertaining (especially around Christmas time). This is an O.K. film but it is not great.

Summary: Christmas Wouldn't Be Complete Without It
Review: It's become a tradition in my home that I watch this movie every Christmas Season. And with good reason. A Christmas Story is one of the greatest 'seasonal' movies ever made. A belief proven by cable channels such as TNT showcasing the movie non-stop over 24 hour periods. In the movie Ralphy, a mid-western kid with cowboy dreams and real life ho-hums, dreams of having a BB Gun of his very own. Much to the shagrin of the adults around him who constantly remind him he'll "shoot his eye out". Peter Billingsley performs his heart out as we see him lay the child-like ground work to get his dream gun while having to put up with school yard bullies, a crotchity old father and the shame of all shames: having to wear a pink bunny suit on Christmas! More than just children will love this movie as I myself 'feel like a kid again' every year watching this great classic.

Summary: Do You Remember Snowsuits?
Review: How believable and true can a movie get - all the way from the Daisy air rifle (which a friend of mine still has to this day) to the red wagons and immobilizing snowsuits. One can see this movie all year long and feel good. Anyone growing up in that period deserves to relive his childhood and share in the wonderful experiences. There's even a happy ending!

Summary: Fra-jee-lay! That must be Italian. I think it says fragile.
Review: An absolute classic without a doubt. Forget Rudolph and Frosty, this is the movie to see around Christmas time or any time. The old man fighting the furnace, the Skut Farkus affair, Flick getting his tongue stuck on the flagpole, Randy's oversized snowsuit, the Bumpis hounds, the infamous leg lamp, visiting the department store Santa and don't forget the Chinese duck. Jean Shepherd's narration is perfect and makes the sight gags even more hilarious. Everybody excels in their roles, but it is Darren McGavin who steals the show as "The Old Man." This is one of those movies that you've seen 100 times and you can quote all of the lines from, but can still watch it over and over again. It has definitely not lost its appeal nor will it ever. You'll shoot yer eye out!
